Marc Jacobs Rio & Cream and Sugar Enamored Lip Lacquers Reviews & Swatches
Rio (354)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Rio (354) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a bright, cotton candy pink with strong, blue undertones and a cream finish. It suffered from the kind of issues typically seen with more pastel, cream-finish glosses: slightly uneven application with product that settled into lines. It was better-performing than the average gloss I’ve come across with those characteristics, but it can be hard to wear on its own as it can look quite streaky each time one presses their lips together.
The consistency was smooth, a little thicker but lighter-weight, and spreadable across my lips with a touch of tackiness. It had good color coverage (was actually described as “opaque”) in a single layer that stayed on decently for four and a half hours and felt hydrating over time.

It is supposed to have "maximum color and brilliance" and "shine like 30 coats of lacquer." The formula has a mint scent but not much flavor from what I could detect. While the brand's general description is "maximum color," they seem to modify that with individual shade descriptions as several shades are specifically described as "opaque" and a few are noted as "sheer" with the remainder having no specific coverage descriptor (as of April/May 2020).
This seems to suggest that the rest are neither sheer nor opaque but somewhere in-between--I would lean toward "semi-opaque" to be closer to "maximum color," though I really think that's quite confusing to the customer. It would make more sense to simply describe it as a range of sheer to opaque shades or that they're medium coverage (as a whole).
The coverage ranged from semi-sheer to opaque with a fair amount of shades between medium and semi-opaque payoff in a single layer, and they do have a very high-shine finish that makes my lips look more voluminous.
The consistency was smooth, like a creamy gel as it was a bit thicker (without being heavy or tacky), and very easy to spread across my lips. It was comfortable to wear and moisturizing over time. Some shades smoothed out my lip lines, though it wasn't consistent throughout the range as a few settled into them (usually paler, milkier shades).

Cream and Sugar (364)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Cream and Sugar (364) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) has a champagne beige-tinted, translucent base with fine gold and peach shimmer throughout. It had sheer coverage where the base seemed to lighten and add subtle warmth to my natural lip color while adding a high-shine, lightly shimmered finish.
The “issue” was that it was sheer, and the formula is supposed to have “maximum color” and didn’t have a modifying description for this specific shade. Those who like sheerer glosses may like that the formula on this shade was fairly smoothing of my lip lines and went on evenly, though I did get a bit of product in my deeper lip lines that wasn’t noticeable in person, just in the close-up photos. The texture was smooth, like a gel-cream with some substance to it, and there was a bit of tackiness present. It lasted well for four hours and felt hydrating over time.

Cream & Sugar is a lovely shade of gloss to use as a topper! I love it. Which is probably how I wound up having a whopping FOUR dupes for it, LOL.
Rio is a darn shame. Wasting Duran Duran’s eponymous album title on this muck.
Nope to both – the Rio shade looks awful, more like the horrible pink we use to see from Revlon decades ago and the Cream and Sugar shade is colourless.
I have really good luck with Enamored glosses and (from what I’ve read and experienced) I seem to have better luck and/or patience with finicky products than a lot of other people here, so I’ll take the risk on Rio when I have spending power again or as a birthday gift in November, whichever comes first.
I feel the same Nancy. I have Becca Champagne, a dupe for Peaches and Cream. I love that..
Rio is everything I detest in light lip products. It looks chalky and revisits the late 60s mod period. I already did that once.
