Iced

Marc Jacobs Beauty Iced Glam Glitter Highliner Gel Eye Crayon ($24.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a silvery white with cool undertones and a pearl finish with faint silver sparkle on top. It wasn’t very glittery (not “packed” with glitter), though. The texture was lightly creamy, smooth, and comfortable to apply as it didn’t tug or drag on my lash line. This shade stayed on well for 11 hours on me before starting to thin noticeably on me.

Formula Overview

$24.00/0.01 oz. - $2400.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to wear for "12-hour[s]" with "amazing glide, waterproof wear" that stays movable for "15 seconds" before setting down. What distinguishes it from the other Highliners is the finish; it is supposed to be "glitter-packed" but still go on smoothly. All seven were very creamy and smooth, which made them comfortable to apply on the lash line or on the waterline (I couldn't find any warning that said to avoid the waterline, but those who have sensitive eyes will likely want to look toward the Matte Highliners). The pigmentation varied a bit from shade to shade, though most were buildable in practice or opaque when applied in short strokes rather than a single, fluid stroke. They wore well for 11 to 12 hours on me with little signs of wear (certainly wearable beyond 11/12 hours).

The biggest downside to the formula, generally, was that removing them 100% is difficult - there were always stray bits of glitter/sparkle leftover even after doing my best to remove! This is common with fine glitter, so not a total surprise, but I wanted to mention it!

All That Glitters

Marc Jacobs Beauty All That Glitters Glam Glitter Highliner Gel Eye Crayon ($24.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a light-medium gold with subtle, warm yellow undertones and a glittery finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a lot of fine sparkle and glittery bits in it. The base seemed almost translucent, so it was harder to build up coverage to my eye, though it was noticeable on my lash line. The texture was smooth, creamy, and comfortable to apply in a single stroke across my skin. The glitter dispersed well as I drew the line, which was nice to see. It lasted well for 12 hours with minimal movement, fading, and glitter migration.

Glitz Blitz

Marc Jacobs Beauty Glitz Blitz Glam Glitter Highliner Gel Eye Crayon ($24.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a medium-dark copper with warm, rosy undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-sheer coverage with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that glided across nicely along my lash line without tugging. It was buildable to mostly opaque coverage with two to three layers. The eyeliner stayed on nicely for 11 hours before starting thin slightly.

Gemstoned

Marc Jacobs Beauty Gemstoned Glam Glitter Highliner Gel Eye Crayon ($24.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a deep, blue-leaning teal with flecks of multi-colored pearl and larger gold and blue glitter. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, creamy texture that skated across my skin with ease and delivered rich, even coverage that stayed on all day long. It had minimal fading after 12 hours of wear, even on my waterline, with no discernible fallout.

These are really lovely. Of course, I love Gemstone and in general I like Marc Jacobs liners but mine seem to dry out pretty quickly and so I haven’t purchased any for quite some time. I will probably pick up Gemstone and see how long it lasts.

It’s Glitz Blitz for me! Such an unusual and lovely eyeliner color. Around here they’re due in stores end of August, and I shall mark on my calendar.

Thank you for reviewing these. I’ve been looking at them for about a week now and wondered how they would perform. My favorites are All that Glitters and Gemstoned but I have dupes for both. That may be why I like them!
