Rossy

MAC Rossy Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark purpled mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation, though not opaque, that covered the lips with even coverage. The consistency was smooth, almost velvety, and glided across my lips without dragging. The color wore well for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating, but I did find the color seemed to sink into my lip lines over time.

Formula Overview

$19.00/0.1 oz. - $190.00 Per Ounce

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.

Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.

The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Phenomenal Woman

MAC Phenomenal Woman Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a deep, purpled burgundy with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied decently, but it could have gone on more evenly. The lipstick had a thin, moderately emollient feel, which likely contributed to some of the patchiness of the application as well as having color sink into my lip lines. This shade wore well for five and a half hours, left a slight stain behind, and was non-drying.

Self Esteem

MAC Self Esteem Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had rich color payoff in a single layer, while the texture was velvety, thin but not clingy, and fairly comfortable to wear given it was still going strong after seven hours of wear. Overall, the formula seemed just a touch drying after wearing it for most of the day.

Frenesi

MAC Frenesi Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark pink-red with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had good color coverage, though it was shy of opaque coverage, that applied evenly and smoothly across the lips without tugging. The texture was smooth without having much slip, so it adhered well and lasted for over seven hours on me and left a stain behind. It was a bit drying after five hours of wear, though.

Try a universal lip liner like lipstick queen. It’s clear so you can use it with any lipcolor or if you want coverage I would use NYX nude that matches your lips. As for a color liner I was thinking heroine from mac but it might be to light and pinkier. I am sure mac will have something close to that color. It’s very pretty.

Omg. Awful. Prayers for him and his family in California. Hope the pets are evacuated, too. The picture of the pickup leading the two horses away to safety was a heartbreaker, and as iconic as the VJ Day sailor kissing the girl. Do not sweat this. Your b-i-l’s family’s safety is what matters.

I love Phenomenal Woman Christine. but I can’t stop thinking about Nars Train Bleu (which I own) when I see it. You didn’t consider Train Bleu as a dupe either, are they that different then and I’m not seeing it?
