MAC Good Luck Trolls Lipglass
MAC Saint Germain Lipglass ($16.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “light cool pink.” It’s a light-medium pink with cool, blue undertones with a cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that went on somewhat evenly, but this one was really prone to emphasizing every little lip line. It lasted for four and a half hours on me and was neither drying nor hydrating. NYX Merengue (P, $5.00) is lighter, more muted (90% similar). MAC Pink Fade (LE, $21.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Sweet as Pie (LE, $21.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). MAC Misbehaving (P, $21.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Bubble Butt Lipglass ($16.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “magenta with fine pink and blue glitter.” It’s a bright, medium fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and pink and blue sparkle. It had semi-sheer color coverage that applied evenly overall, and then there was a moderate amount of sparkle–enough to distribute evenly and be noticeable but is not full-on glitter gloss. The thicker consistency of the Lipglass formula made it so I didn’t feel the edges or texture from the sparkle/glitter. This shade lasted for four and a half hours on me. MAC Throw a Spare (LE, $20.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Queen P (LE, $21.00) is warmer (90% similar). Pat McGrath Astral Flash Dance (P, $30.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Dior Cruise (676) (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Bracelets Galore (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). MAC Love Alert (LE, $20.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Glitter Grunge Lipglass ($16.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “sheer berry with extra fine silver sparkle.” It’s a muted, medium-dark berry with cool, purplish tones and iridescent shimmer and larger silver sparkle. It had semi-sheer color coverage that went on evenly and gave lips a lot of shine and noticeable shimmer. It wore well for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Mall Madness (LE, $21.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (90% similar). Anastasia Sparkling Garnet (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). MAC Real Posh (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). MAC Kim (LE, $22.00) is warmer (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
MAC Twerkquoise Lipglass ($16.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “transparent sky blue with fine pink reflect.” It’s a pale, sky blue with very fine pink and blue pearl. It had semi-sheer color coverage with a lot of fine shimmer. The consistency was thicker, but I still noticed some of the milkier color settle into lip lines. The amount of shimmer seemed to help camouflage some of the settling, though. It wore well for four and a half hours on me. MAC New Galaxy (P, $21.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Giorgio Armani #701 (P, $29.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Fenty Beauty Single (LE, ) is more shimmery, less pigmented (85% similar). Chanel Aphrodite (792) (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, less pigmented (85% similar). Kevyn Aucoin Cyber Sky (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, brighter (85% similar). Anastasia Blue Hawaii (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery, cooler (85% similar). Pat McGrath Astral Moon Flower (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). Bite Beauty Peacock Pearl (DC, $22.00) is more shimmery, more pigmented (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
These four glosses are from the upcoming Good Luck Trolls collection, which launches online on July 28th and in-stores on August 4th.
FORMULA OVERVIEW | MAC Lipglass ($15.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is supposed to have “glass-like shine” with “high coverage.” It is “pigmented, very shiny, and can impart subtle or dramatic color.” Lipglass is a thicker, tacky formula that is noticeable on the lips but has a very glossy finish. The tackier consistency helps it wear longer than the average gloss–four to six hours–and is more likely to survive through eating/drinking to some degree. For the most part, I don’t find them hydrating, but they are not drying either. The formula is vanilla-scented but has no discernible taste. While MAC might indicate the formula is “high coverage” and “pigmented,” coverage varies from shade to shade–anywhere from ultra sheer to nearly opaque. I’d be more inclined to describe it as buildable, medium coverage overall. The best MAC Lipglasses, to me, are the ones with fine pearl or sparkle, as the high-shine coupled with the reflection of the shimmer makes it standout.

Glitter Grunge looks amazing!
It’s pretty!
Oh my goodness, I’m not even into Trolls, and these are so cute! Love the name Twerkquoise and Bubble Butt Hahahahaha And MAC didn’t cut corners on the packaging either, great job. I’m on a no buy for gloss, trying to use up my Sephora Holographic glosses, but still tempted by Twerkquoise, since it’s so unique. Hmmm, will see if I can resist….
They are cute! I think the names certainly fit the theme!
I’m trying to save for other purchases so I think I’ll pass on these, but Bubble Butt is so pretty. I clearly have a weakness for pink glosses with blue-toned shimmer. They almost always suck me in!
The sparkles are tough to resist 😉
LOL Bubble Butt, such a cute name!
Haha!
Isn’t Saint Germain a repromote? It seems familiar to me. Gosh I wish these were better! The only one I really like is Glitter Grunge and I feel like it reminds me of a UD gloss I already have. I might get it anyway though.
Yes, Saint Germain is a repromote, but my old photos and swatches are so terrible I figured that since I received this one in the launch, I should redo it!
Hah, what a fun collection 🙂 Maybe a little too childish, but still fun.
It is fun!
100% buying Glitter Grunge!!!!
Yay!
I LOVE the packaging !!! <3 But i've never worn lipgloss so idk if i should buy one D:
It’s pretty! I like how it’s smooth but still glittery looking!
I like the sparkly glosses. Great names, too. “Bubble Butt” and “Twerkquoise.” 😀 😀 😀 I don’t really care for the trolls, though, so the packaging doesn’t appeal to me.
Totally understand! They weren’t really a part of my childhood, so I have no nostalgic connection here!
Glitter Grunge looks cute and the rating seems good- might pick it up! Thanks x
No problem, Katherine!
Hnng the products are so pretty to look at! I can just see all of these being sold out within a day no matter what the quality…
We shall have to see!
I know this is crazy, but I just love how those last 3 look applied! Twerquouse and Bubble Butt are two of the silliest names I’ve heard of, yet still sorta cute. Perhaps a little *too* cutesy pie for me, though.
They are pretty! The sparkle MAC uses in their glosses always looks good on.
Glitter grunge Looks really good and twerkquoise (did I Write that correct?) is very interesting. Would like to Know how this one Looks As a topper. If the light Blue colour in it changes the colour of a Lipstick When you put it over. Maybe you can swatch this over a red and and a pink Lipstick.
Twerkquoise is a fun one to type, lol!
It has some blue tint to it, so it can change the color of something underneath but subtly.
I agree with you on the sparkle factor- Glitter Grunge and Bubble Butt are fabulous. (Also, typing out these names is an experience all on its own! lol)
haha!
I do like the look of all of them. The close ups of Saint Germain really shows the problem with it, but in the full face photo it isn’t noticeable.
I will skip Saint Germaine, though. I hope I’ll be able to get the orther three, even Twerkquoise it is such a fun colour for a lip product.
The other three are lovely 😀
I like Glitter Grunge and Twerkquoise, and the top of the packaging. Would rather not have the trolls on it though.
Will you skip because of packaging, then?
No, I like them enough that the trolls are not a dealbreaker. In fact, I’ll probably grow to like them. Maybe. 😉
Hard pass on MAC in general; I don’t care for their constant LE releases and poor quality. This concept I really don’t get at all. Truly one of those things that belongs in the past in my opinion.
Gotcha!
