MAC Coupe d’Chic Iridescent Pressed Powder
MAC Coupe d’Chic Iridescent Pressed Powder ($28.00 for TBA oz.) is described as a “light golden peach with gold shimmer.” It’s a pinky-peach with warm, sparkling gold. Urban Decay Aura (P, $29.00) is warmer, less sparklly. Urban Decay Streak Highlighter (P) is less sparkly. theBalm Cindy-Lou Manizer (P, $24.00) is less sparkly, darker. bareMinerals The Many Splendors #2 (LE) is less sparkly. MAC Talk of the Town (LE, $27.00) is darker. Milani Dolce Pink (P, $7.99) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
The texture was dense, almost cream-like (but definitely a powder), and you could feel the sparkle in the texture. I wouldn’t describe the texture as dry or gritty necessarily, but there is a ton of sparkle, and it comes through even by touch. As you might guess, due to the amount of sparkle and shimmer in it, there is some emphasis of pores and the skin’s natural texture. I found that most of the time, it also read rather metallic that it reflected enough light that pores weren’t noticeable. It’s a semi-sheer product without a lot of natural binding qualities, so a lot of the product seems to dust everywhere, so sparkle was, as a result, all over my face, though more concentrated along the upper cheekbones. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me before fading.

I think this is a beautiful color! That being said, I will probably skip it since it is so sparkly. I have large pores, I don’t need something to accentuate them!
It’s a pretty color, but it’s definitely a product where you gotta love your sparkle!
I think the swatch looks beautiful and my cheeks are where my pores are smallest, so I think I could work this. However, I don’t feel like I have much *need* for it.
It is pretty, but it’s probably not a must-have!
LOVE the full face look!! I’m honestly rarely tempted by MAC, but this collection is just so so pretty!!
Thank you, Julie!
This will probably be the only product that I get. This collection is sad.
Cinderella is my favorite childhood movie, but nothing about the collection has really caught my eye.
This would be a nightmare on my skin… People would confuse my face with the surface of the moon…
lol!
I’m not excited by this at all.
Aww!
I was hoping for a better mark. Maybe I’ll just get the MAC Mystery Princess powder instead.
Have you tried any of the other Iridescent Pressed Powders before? It’s similar to me, but I don’t find it to be a great formula all in all.
Long time ago. I think it was called Belightful? Wasn’t too ecstatic about that one either.
Oh Well the packaging not exciting enough to pick up anything. I skipped Maleficent as well for that reason. 😉
I have both Cindy-lou and Mary-lou anyway. Best to save for the early summer collection.
It looks super glittery but I still like it!
It is very sparkly!
Do you think this will go well w/ darker skin tones? I’m an nw43
I think it would!
Pass! Way too may highlighters out there to trump this. I am not huge on “sparkle’ either. I noticed you have the Balm’s Condy-Lou manizer as a dupe. How would you say it compares in sparkliness? I have neither Cindy-lou or Mary-lou.
Cindy-Lou is wayyyyyyyy less sparkly.
Yeah..I’ll add that to my list! I see it on Amazon along with Mary-lou on sale. IDk why I have never snagged them! Thanks! 🙂
Looks like the perfect peach highlighter! I might have a look at theBalm Cindy-Lou Manizer as well, just to compare which one I’d like best.
Well if Cindy Lou is way less sparkly then I’m passing on this 🙂
Oh Christine, I love how much it lights up your face#
Actually this is the only product of the Cinderella collection that I like. It would look lovely on my fair complexion. I don’t know how it would work on those with darker complexions.
I have Aura and Cindy-Lou, but I’ll prob still get this because I’m a sucker for “there is a ton of sparkle” hahaha.
It’s pretty but I’m worried about the sparkle getting everywhere, and emphasizing my pores.
If it doesn’t contain carmine I can totally see me using it as an eye shadow!
i’ll pass it….hi dear sorry m asking u something else here…actually i bought my make up reviewed by u…..kindly review viseart matte palettes if possible,, thanx for doing so much efforts for us 🙂 <3
Definitely very ‘Disney Princessy’, and I would totally use it (or something like it) for ballet performances. Probably all over my chest/arms rather than my face though, heh!
The powder looks pretty in the pan but I guess with so much of shimmers I will end up looking like a shimmery ball.. 😛 ..
I’m a full on glitter gal so I’m loving all this sparkly goodness! This looks like a beautiful highlight. It’ll probably be the only thing I get from this collection
I quite liked the idea of using this as a highlighter and I don’t really mind sparkle for special occasions.. but then I read that it’s more shimmery than UD’s Aura and when I swatched Aura in person I thought damn, too much glitter. Therefore I can’t really make up my mind whether I like this powder or not..
I was thinking of picking up this item… But I don’t usually wear much makeup, (lipstick, blush, mascara) do you think this product would be a good buy? Cuz the packaging is super cute!
It’s okay – it’s not my favorite.
Ooo, very sparkly!
Could a dupe be Reckless by Nars as well? I’m just curious because I already own Reckless but I love this as well so I’m not sure how similar the two are!
This has a lot more color and warmth to it!
Hey i’m new in the beautyworld
Is this a highlighter, blush or a powder for your whole face? hahaha
No, this is more of a highlighting blush, but it’s very sparkly and has enough color that I don’t think it would be good as a face powder.
Christine , do you know if this powder is a repromote, because I saw someone who was selling one with at least the same name . The color looked the same, except the packaging was the regular matte black MAC packaging . Thanks !
I believe it came out a long, long, long time ago – I have it in my files as a shade that came out prior, but I have no idea exactly when or what it looked like that.
Hey Christine,
it was part of the Tailormade Collection that came out in 2005.
Best
Franzi
Is this anything like becca opal? It seems similar
The texture is very different, as is the color! Nothing alike, IMO.
Can’t decide whether to get the chic or the mystery princess…which is more orangey and which is more like pinky pop of spring colour?
If you want color, then Coupe d’Chic. Mystery Princess is pretty much just beige.
