MAC Warm Rose Mineralize Skinfinish
MAC Warm Rose Mineralize Skinfinish

MAC Warm Rose Mineralize Skinfinish ($32.00 for 0.35 oz.) is described as a “soft pink champagne.” It’s a very light, pinky-beige with neutral-to-cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. Make Up For Ever H100 (P, $23.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). NARS Highlight (PiP, ) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). MAC Hot Sensation (LE, $22.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Make Up For Ever H104 (P, $23.00) is warmer (90% similar). NYX Soft Light (P, $5.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Chanel Jardin de Camelias (LE, $70.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

The Mineralize Skinfinish formula is described as a “velvety soft” face powder with a “radiant finish” that can be used to “add highlights to the high points of the face.” The Future MAC collection features two new, limited edition shades; this one and Warm Rose — the collection debuts on March 31st online. This is one of the few variations of Mineralize Skinfinish that I think could be used all-over on certain skin tones, as it has much, much less shimmer than the majority of shades I’ve come across in the range. On me, it appears chalky, so I would expect this to resonate more with fair to light complexions. It would add a very subtle sheen to the skin if buffed in without adding overt color. The texture was soft, smoioth, and just a smidgen dusty. On me, it lasted for six and a half hours before fading.

IDK, I think this would chalky on me too, especially in summer. It’s funny how it’s named Warm Rose, but it doesn’t look warm or rosy!

You summed up my sentiment perfectly. On the plus side, it’s refreshing to have a matte-like highlighter option though the shade wouldn’t work for me.

Positively flattening, not flattering, on you. And you’d look good covered in volcanic ash. Seriously, this looks to be a future remainder at CCO. The lipsticks in this collection are giving me flashbacks to the early 60s…the girl group era, before the Beatles and Stones hit. Channel your inner Ronnie Spector (baddest cat eye in history, not to mention worst ex-husband!)

It looks so similar to the Laura Mercier Baked Highlighter in the pan but without the oomph! I am dying to get my hands on that one though 😐

hm, I expected something warmer and more rosy for a powder that’s called ‘warm rose’. hihihi. The other one is more unique!

This color is right up my alley as I don’t have anything like it in my collection and I know it would work with my fair skin. I don’t know if I am going to get it though. Thanks for the info though Christine.

If this pops up in-store, and I can actually catch it, I will definitely pick it up. However, I won’t be stalking counters or ordering online… I really like it, but it isn’t something I really need.

That’s good to know, but I don’t think I’ll be running down to the mall. I really shouldn’t be buying *anything* right now, but this is the sort of thing that would be an “impulse buy”, LOL, and between my daughter’s orthodontic costs, plus annual Disneyland trip, $32 is kind of hefty…

Uh-uh, this would not look even remotely decent on me. Yikes. It *may* work on fairer skintones, but even then, it just looks very dry, matte, lifeless. But you’re right, as a setting powder, it might look alright.

I think dusted all-over, it will not be flat/matte, because it’s definitely got a very, very subtle sheen. It’s more like Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Powders, but it is more pigmented.

Hmmm I don’t know what to think about this powder…. I guess it could work all over on my fair/pink skin. Pretty sure it would give me this “doll” look in winter hehe.

I’m actually liking that. It looks like it would make a good brightening setting powder for pale folks. I don’t think I’d buy it but I’m totally hmming and hawing. It would be perfect under the eyes for me.

I hope this doesn’t sell out before I get a chance to try it. I actually think it could work for me, but I’ll not order it online. How much it’ll cost here is also a big factor, so I’ll just have to wait and see what I do.

This reminds me a lot of the beautypowder from MAC’s Marilyn Monroe collection – which I got and which was totally wrong for my skintone! But there were a lot of ladies out there for whom it was a holy grail, so I’ll be happy for them if its similar (and skip the rest of the collection).

I’m not sure if this would look good on me, or if, like Hourglass’s Ethereal Light, it might actually be a bit too light for me as an overall powder. Could be very nice as a highlighter, though — there aren’t that many out there with cool undertones! I’m glad they’ve come out with something that looks like it would work for very pale complexions — I think they get overlooked a lot.

I’m excited for this one, but I’m very fair. It’s hard finding tinted finishing powders for very light skin tones… they’re always too dark.

I’ve been looking at this since it came out and now that it should be gone, I was lucky enough that my MAC here still has a lot of these in stock. My only concern is, is that I want to have a highlighter that isn’t shimmery like my Becca and my Anastasia ones, do you think this would be a light highlight on my NC20 skin?

I think it would be a bit of a highlighter on you, but it wouldn’t be super shimmery like Becca or Anastasia.
