MAC Pink It Over Up Close & Personal Lip Kit Review & Swatches
Pink It Over
MAC Pink It Over Up Close & Personal Lip Kit ($36.50 for 0.25 oz.) is a new, limited edition set that includes three, full-sized products: a lipgloss, lip pencil, and lipstick. They coordinate, though the gloss was noticeably warmer than the other two shades (which I think works but might not be as cohesive for some!). The gloss was better on its own as it resulted in more color separation along my lip lines when applied over the pencil and liner.

2 Truths and a Lie
2 Truths and a Lie is a medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly across my lips without tugging, though there was a bit of product that sank into my deeper lip lines–it just wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The texture was dense, lightly creamy, and lightweight. It wore well for four and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.
Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.
The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Told You So
Told You So is a medium, pink-coral with warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had good pigmentation that applied without streaking, but there was noticeable product in my lip lines. I wasn’t overly surprised given the lighter, milkier quality of the color along with the coverage level. The texture was light-medium in thickness, moderately tacky, but it was lightweight and comfortable to wear. It stayed on nicely for four and a half hours and was moisturizing while worn.

The Lipglass formula is supposed to be “pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic color” that can be worn “on its own, over lip pencil or lipstick” and will “condition lips.” MAC could use an update on the description as some shades are more pigmented than others but several are sheerer and likely intended to be that way. The formula has a very glossy, high-shine finish with a light-medium weight and moderate tackiness.
I have found that newer Lipglasses (over the last couple of years) are smoother and not quite as tacky as the formula was many years ago. They wear from three to six hours on me and are usually lightly hydrating. MAC recently updated the shade range and packaging for the range (though the formula was said to be unchanged), so worth noting is that with that packaging change came a reduction in quantity to 0.10 fl. oz. (was 0.17 fl. oz.), which may matter for some but not everyone.

Edge to Edge
Edge to Edge is a medium-dark pink with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage in a single stroke, and while it was a firmer pencil, it wasn’t painful to use and yielded really crisp edges and comfortable all-over application. It had a very lightweight, thinner consistency so it felt clingier when worn alone but was comfortable when worn with a lipstick (like 2 Truths and a Lie) on top of it. On its own, it wore well for six hours with light fading and was non-drying.

Not normally a shade I wear, but I really do love this combo! Especially the lipstick and pencil. I may go see if they have a tester just to see if it could look nice on me, too.
I never get sick of pink. I like this set, but could totally pass on the gloss.. I hate MAC glosses.
Is this avail now?
Nevermind..spazzy.. see this is LE for Nordstrom.
I wonder if The Bay or anywhere else will have it…
