MAC Nutcracker Sweet Peach Face Compact Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Nutcracker Sweet Peach Face Compact
MAC Nutcracker Sweet Peach Face Compact ($35.00 for 0.32 oz.) includes a powder highlighter and blush. The Extra Dimension Skinfinishes are supposed to have 10-hour wear, while the Extra Dimension Blush formula is supposed to have six-hour wear.
Tutu is a bright, very light beige with warm, peachy undertones and a metallic finish. It had excellent color payoff paired with a soft, smooth, finely-milled texture that wasn’t too firm or too loose in the pan. It seemed smoother than past iterations of this formula, though this color is new (and limited edition). The highlighter applied easily, blended out effortlessly, and lasted for eight hours on me. Even when worn heavily, I didn’t notice any emphasis of my skin’s natural texture with this shade. LORAC Starlight (P, $23.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Anastasia Starlight (DC, $28.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Anastasia Moonstone (LE, ) is darker (90% similar). Catrice Champagne Campaign (P, $5.99) is less shimmery (90% similar). ColourPop Smoke 'n Whistles (P, $10.00) is cooler (90% similar). Viseart Highlight #1 (PiP, ) is less shimmery, lighter (95% similar). Give Me Glow White Noise (P, $17.25) is cooler (90% similar). At Dusk is a muted, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The texture was a bit firmer compared to the highlighter, but it wasn’t stiff or difficult to get color payoff out of. It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage that sat well on the skin, and the finish became more luminous as I buffed and blended the powder on my skin. It wore well for seven and a half hours before it started to fade. (This shade has been released before.) Makeup Geek Main Squeeze (P, $10.00) is darker (95% similar). Edward Bess Filled with Desire (P, $43.00) is lighter, brighter (95% similar). Illamasqua Naked Rose (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, more muted, cooler (90% similar). Too Faced Tres Fab (LE, ) is brighter, cooler (90% similar). MAC The Perfect Cheek (LE, $24.00) is lighter (95% similar). Hourglass Surreal Effect (LE, $40.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Ciate Baby Doll (P, $26.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Launch Away (LE, $24.00) is brighter (90% similar). ColourPop Birthday Suit (P, $8.00) is brighter (90% similar). Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Blush (LE, ) is brighter (90% similar). KIKO 109 Candy Rose (P, $12.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Stay Pretty (P, $23.50) is cooler (90% similar). NARS Swindle (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (90% similar). Zoeva PK030 (P, ) is less shimmery, brighter, cooler (90% similar). Oh dear, I have 3 dupes for the highlighter, but nothing for the blush, which is very soft and pretty. I do like the combo together . Hmmm, will have to think about this one!
Tough call! Do you have anything similar to the blush – maybe not a dupe but close enough?
Awe yes thank you for this Christine….loving these face compacts…..they are gorg. How do you think this shade will workout for my medium to deep skintone? I kinda want both of the face compacts.
Medium, yes, I think it will be fine, but deep? The pink blush may not show! The highlighter doesn’t seem to have a really white base that will turn ashy (it’s just a lot of sheen), but this duo is less of a “slam dunk” for darker skin tones compared to the Copper compact.
Hi Christine thanks for sharing your thoughts I definitely am not sure if I will get this one but the copper face absolutely. I guess for reference I’m nc45 to NC50 in Mac….so with that as a reference what do you think?
I definitely would go for the Copper over the Peach Face Compact!
Very nice. I think this one will sell quite well.
I agree!
These are super-pretty, and I think wearable on cool skin tones in the fair-to-light range — I want 🙂
YAY!
I wasn’t going to bother to pick up anything from this collection. But you just changed my mind!
Oh, wow!
I love these colors and I think it will really suit me. The highlighter sort of clinches it, and the A doesn’t hurt either 🙂 . I plan to buy!
Enjoy the duo, Ginny!
Lovely design and color! It’s hard to dislike a soft pink blush, especially when it lasts longer than the projected 6 hours.
It’s so weird to me that the highlighters have a different wear claim than the blushes when they’re very similar in formula!
agree. For my tastes, I think pink blush can frequently run too saturated and cool and pull doll like. This is a nice balance and finish.
Oooh also very pretty!
They are!
Ooh, I’m liking this combo. I didn’t care for the original blush because I had to layer it so much (and I’m fair!), but this one looks a little more pigmented in your swatches. I was going to skip this collection, but maybe I’ll treat myself to this duo since I like the colours and the packaging.
What a lovely duo for a fair-light complexion! Very glowy, yet still soft!
Agreed!
These colors look amazing together!!! I’m loving the pattern!!
They are lovely together!
Love it! Love it! love it! Hope it’ll be sale in France!!! i dont really buy MAC i have only fews lipstick but this collection Nutcraker its really a good surprise everytime 🙂 usually im tired to see everytime a new collection from Mac lol
It should be if you normally get most MAC collections 🙂
This is so pretty, especially with your eye look! I have Moonstone as a dupe for Tutu already so it’s going to be hard to resist this duo, I want to get At Dusk on its own! Ah well maybe I’ll get a dupe.
Thank you, Claire! 🙂
So pretty! Another one I love, both for myself and as a gift.
Awesome! 🙂
Lovely!
This one will be a go to little palette for me, if I can get it. I really like it a lot.
There will be makeup gifts under the tree come Christmas, from me, to me.
Fingers crossed you can get it, Helene!
I’ve been loving and collecting nutcrackers since I was a kid–so I have to get something from this collection! I think this duo might be just that 🙂
Perfect 😀
I would have probably get this one…. even though I own dupes. lol
Aww!
A perfect combination of highlighter and blush. Love the shades.
This looks so gorgeous but in an understated kind of way! I’m also IN LOVE with the Whisper of Gilt/Pleasure Model duo, and I don’t own any close dupes to any of these four shades! Do you think both would actually work with my NC20 skintone, Christine? I’m afraid this might pull too cool/pink, while the other duo might be too bright and dark. I do love your combination of Whisper of Gilt and At Dusk, though!
I’m about NC20 🙂
Do you think this would work on me even though I have cool undertones? LOVE your blog, by the way!
Have you ever worn gold/copper/brown before? Do you have an eyeshadow that is similar that you could try first?
Thank you!
Thanks!
I’m surprised I can’t dupe this blush. I thought I owned all the blush (or at least way, way too many of them). I guess it does make sense, I’ve been after Naked Rose for years, but it never goes on sale!
Christine, I’m an nc40 in mac, will sweet peach work for me? =( Missed out on the copper
I love the peach duo, I’m NW10 if anyone else is pale & wondering if it’d work. I can see the blush becoming a go to color for me. It’s really beautiful on the skin. Thanks for your swatches, because I probably wouldn’t have even looked at this product before seeing your pics.
Hi Christine! Do you think it will suits to nc30?
Yes!
What brush do you like using to apply the blush and highlighter?
I didn’t have any trouble using a variety of brushes – I don’t write down what I use for most reviews (unless it’s a problem!).
Was eyeing it but held on to read your review first and now 😀 because it has your blessing i will buy it in the 20% sale tonight 😀 thank you so much for all your hard work cristine <3 big hugs from dk. I swear you are the blogger i trust the most.
Thank you, Val! <3
