Chanel Ultraberry & Ultrarose Rouge Allure Lip Colours Review, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Ultraberry Rouge Allure Lip Colour
Chanel Ultraberry Allure Lip Colour ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark reddish plum with subtle warm undertones and a luminous finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff, which applied evenly and smoothly, so it appeared almost like a stain as the translucency was even but there. The formula was lightly creamy without being heavy, emollient without sliding around easily. It lasted for five hours on me, left behind a slight stain, and was hydrating over time. MAC Party Line (P, $19.00) is darker, glossier (95% similar). Bite Beauty #084 (P, $18.00) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). NARS Dressed to Kill (P, $26.00) is more shimmery, warmer (95% similar). Hourglass I Can't Live Without (P, $34.00) is lighter (95% similar). Urban Decay Manic (P, $19.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Chanel Rouge Vie (58) (P, $45.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Bite Beauty Brandy (P, $24.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). MAC Fig (LE, $25.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Spice It Up! (DC, $19.00) is less shimmery, lighter, less glossy (95% similar). Makeup Geek Boss Lady (P, $12.00) is darker (90% similar). Clinique Berry Pop (P, $19.50) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Bite Beauty Chicago (LE, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). Gucci Beauty Louisa Red (506) (P, $42.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Chanel Ultrarose Rouge Allure Lip Colour ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a brighter, medium-dark coral-red with warm, orange undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque color coverage, and like Ultraberry, the translucency it had gave it a stained effect overall. The color was comfortable to wear, and it lasted for just over five hours on me. The formula was lightly hydrating as well. Shiseido Liaison (RD306) (DC, $28.00) is darker, more muted (95% similar). MAC Brave Red (LE, $30.00) is warmer (95% similar). Urban Decay Sheer F-Bomb (DC, $18.00) is darker (95% similar). Guerlain Red Bowtie (022) (P, $32.00) is lighter, brighter (95% similar). MAC Cockney (DC, $19.00) is brighter, glossier (95% similar). MAC Lady Bug (DC, $19.00) is darker (95% similar). Givenchy Rouge Atelier (302) (P, $36.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Moot Point (LE, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). Chanel Amant (DC, $34.00) is warmer (90% similar). Chanel La Bouleversante (51) (DC, $45.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Chanel Vivant (144) (P, $45.00) is cooler (90% similar). Smashbox LA Sunset (P, $21.00) is lighter (90% similar). Guerlain Poppy Cap (020) (P, $32.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (90% similar). Guerlain Red Strass (327) (P, $37.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (90% similar). Guerlain Rouge Sensuel (DC, $58.00) is warmer (90% similar). Chanel Rouge Rebelle (172) (P, $45.00) is warmer (95% similar). NARS Jungle Red (DC, $28.00) is lighter, warmer (95% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Je t'aime (238) (P, $30.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). Maybelline Siren in Scarlet (P, $7.99) is warmer (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Les Mepris (LE, $52.00) is lighter (85% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Ultrarose looks lovely.
Happy to hear it!
I really like both of them, but I’ve achieved the same effect Ultraberry gives by just dabbing a dark red on my lips. Ultrarose though, don’t have anything like it in my collection, but MAC Ladybug is already on my list to try. So, I’ll try out the cheaper dupe first.
That is a great way to replicate the look with what you have! 🙂
If Ultraberry leaned cool instead of warm, I think I would like it!
Maybe next time!
These are quite pretty. I like that these leave a stain and mayyyybe that coral might look good on me. 🙂
Glad ya liked ’em 🙂
Ultraberry is pretty, but what’s on your eyes?
MAKE-UP LOOK
ON FACE:
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation
Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder
Estee Lauder Modern Mercury Highlighter
Estee Lauder Java Sun Bronzer
ON EYES:
Este Lauder x Victoria Beckham Eye Palette
Estee Lauder Black Myrrh Eye Ink
Both are quite pretty!
They are!
I’m usually more partial to lipsticks with higher opacity, but Ultraberry is a very pretty color!
It is!
Ultrarose is gorgeous. I think these softer, sheerer reds are lovely and perfect for a less gussied up, more casual way to wear red. That said, I will *likely* go for a $17-28 dupe, instead.
It is a nice way to wear red without it being like BOOM! red!
Generally I stay away from sheer lipsticks, but Ultraberry is gorgeous.
I think I’ll have to Get over to a Chanel counter to see it in real life. I just hope they have it.
Ultrarose is also very pretty.
Hope you can try ’em, Helene!
Christine, I’m curious as to what is your favorite color of lipstick and how many red lippies you have. These colors are both beautiful.
I like corals, and I really don’t know how many red lipsticks I have – I don’t keep count 🙂
Well the do look beautiful on you.
Such gorgeous shades and I love your eye look.
What I want to know is which will look good on dark skin. That is never addressed.
Hi Tosin,
This blog is for reviews on the product’s quality and is not focused on whether a shade looks good (or not) in terms of color. Ultimately, many choices about what colors look “good” are in the eye of the beholder. I have seen darker skin tones wear both of these types of colors, so I don’t see why either would not work on a darker skin tone.
