MAC It’s Never Ending Versicolour Lip Stain
MAC It’s Never Ending Versicolour Lip Stain ($24.00 for 0.28 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep raspberry.” It appears as a medium-dark rosy pink initially, but it develops into a dark, raspberry pink with subtle, warm undertones. FORMULA OVERVIEW | MAC Versicolour Lip Stain ($24.00 for 0.28 fl. oz.) is supposed to be a hybrid gloss and stain formula with a glossy shine, long-wear (eight-hours, specifically), “jelly-like texture,” and “stay-true colour.” Interesting discovery: under “usage” (on MAC’s website) the following is there: “As with many lips stains, lips might feel slightly dry over time … Product not recommended for use on overly dry or sensitive lips.” There is some good, specific information about these, though for color payoff isn’t as clear, so based on the fact that these are a gloss/lip stain hybrid (neither of which are typically opaque), I would expect noticeable color with translucency–like stained glass. The majority are fairly pigmented and are true-to-form as a lip stain, and they have a moderate shine. The consistency is thin, watery initially and develops into a slightly thicker, lightly tacky texture as it “sets.” It is one of the least-tacky textures of this type of formula (as it is similar to ones like YSL Glossy Stains, Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Lacquer, Tom Ford Patent Finish, L’Oreal Color Caresse). Some shades emphasized and gathered into lip lines, which may be due to the slightly thinner overall consistency (compared to other like formulas). The wear ranged from six to eight hours and was lightly to moderately drying over time. The formula has a subtle vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

These deeper shades seem to look better on the lips overall. Which is not always the case with deeper glosses can also settle into lip lines.
They definitely do! I can see why YSL etc. tend to release darker shades.
I like It’s Never Ending, a nice raspberry red, don’t think I have anything like it, will put on my wish list
Awesome!
It´s never ending is such a pretty color.
It is!
Last Minute is the first of these I have actually quite liked. It look fantastic on you!
Thanks, Wendy!
Ohhh, I have to try for Last Minute, as it certainly channels TF’s Stolen Cherry! Something about a super juicy stained glass red for summer just sounds so perfect to me lately.
I think you may like the effect!
Both are quite lovely! SO MANY LIPPIES. I don’t know why but I’m a sucker for anything lip oriented.
Haha, true!
I am a Little bit dissapointed of this Collection.
For me it is too fluid and it takes a lot of product to get an Even Finish. My colour tattoo of my heart has no stain and I Could not achieve the nice colour of your swatches although I put on a lot of product. The Price in Germany is 27 euro, I think this is about 30 or 31 Dollars. Much too pricey for such a dissapointing product.
The only thing I like is the feeling on the lips When it has dried. For me it seems that it is a Little bit cooling.
A lot of these self-level for me – they don’t look as good initially as they once they “set.” Has that happened for you at all, Kylie?
Last minute looks so amazing on you Christine! I’m always very excited to see colours that look good on you because that typically means it’s my colour too!
Aw, thanks, Stephanie!
Never Ending is my favorite. Nice product!
Yay!
These are so beautiful. FYI, they were totally not kidding about not using these when your lips are chapped. I apparently took this as a personal challenge and swiped some on after a windy day and it STUNG! Heed MAC’s warning!
