MAC Irresistibly Charming/Nude Lipgloss Set
MAC Irresistibly Charming/Nude Lipgloss Set ($35.00 for 0.32 oz.) includes one shade of Dazzleglass and three shades of Cremesheen Glass. MAC’s holiday lipgloss sets are actually one of their best values, because while the tubes may look short, they actually contain 0.08 oz. each! But this is the crazy part: full-sized Dazzleglasses are a mere 0.06 oz., while full-sized Cremesheen Glasses are 0.09 oz. The set contains $26.67 worth of Dazzleglass and $53.33 worth of Cremesheen Glass, which makes the set have a total value of $80.00. The holiday sets are a great way to restock your glosses, if you like the formula or shades. The sets often repeat from year to year and have a mix of often-repromoted-limited-editions as well as permanent options. Cremesheen Glass is sheerer, lightweight, comfortable without being sticky, with short wear time (one to three hours). Dazzleglass is thicker, glossier, sparkly (or glittery), sticky, and typically sheer but have longer wear time (two to four hours).
Dressed to Dazzle is described as a “pale white pink shimmer.” It’s a purple-taupe-tinted clear base with gold and lavender sparkle. It’s sheer with noticeable sparkle, but the base does lighten and add a pinkish tint to my natural lip color–as it is sheer, this may look different depending on the natural coloring of your lips. The glitter doesn’t travel and didn’t have a noticeable texture over the three hours it lasted, but it is light-medium in thickness with noticeable tackiness, which may be a deal-breaker for some. I think it would be better layered over a lipstick, as there is some settling into lip lines. Guerlain Rose in Bloom (LE, $32.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). MAC Demure (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Bobbi Brown Firefly (P, $24.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Bobbi Brown Bellini (P, $24.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). MAC Feeling Fine (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Roulette (P, $21.00) is darker (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Dress the Part is described as a “pale nude pink.” It’s a light-medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. It emphasizes lip lines quite a bit due to the more milky consistency of the gloss and lighter color. It had semi-sheer color payoff and was comfortable to wear, but it only lasted for two hours. Bite Beauty Three (Watercolor) (LE, ) is lighter (95% similar). MAC Date with Violet (LE, $20.00) is brighter (95% similar). Urban Decay Obsessed (DC, $19.00) is lighter (95% similar). MAC Baby Be Cool (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Urban Decay Lovechild (DC, $20.00) is darker (95% similar). Sephora + Pantone Universe Rose Quartz (LE, ) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Embraceable Me (LE, $20.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). MAC Elegantly Elegant (LE, $22.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Tender (P, $22.00) is cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Round Midnight (LE, $10.00) is more shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). MAC Pagoda (P, $20.00) is more shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Sephora Rose Petal (05) (P, $12.00) is darker (90% similar). NARS Unlaced (P, $26.00) is darker (90% similar). Urban Decay Obsessed (P, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). NYX Maple Blondie (P, $5.00) is warmer (90% similar). Sephora Paradise Pink (15) (P, $12.00) is darker, brighter (90% similar). MAC Look Who's Here (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Lots of Laughs (LE, $21.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Maybelline Fuchsia Flicker (P, $4.49) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Picture Pink (LE, $21.00) is lighter (90% similar). Deelight is described as a “mid-tone neutral.” It’s a muted, medium pinky-plum with warm undertones and a cream finish. This has been released before, and I believe it is part of the permanent range as well. The coverage is semi-sheer, in line with the formula, with a lightweight, hydrating formula that stays on for two and a half hours. The color pulls into lip lines, though, and can look a little streaky and prone to showing “lines” if you press your lips together. MAC Beautifully Bare (LE, $20.00) is darker (95% similar). Buxom Dolly (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Maybelline Charmer (P, $7.99) is darker (90% similar). MAC Sweet Persuasion (LE, $20.00) is lighter (85% similar). Tarte Double Tap (P, $20.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Giorgio Armani #524 (P, $29.00) is warmer (85% similar). NARS Oasis (DC, $25.00) is more shimmery (85% similar). MAC Anything But Demure (LE, $20.00) is darker, cooler, better quality (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Deep Kiss is described as a “deep burgundy.” It’s a muted, medium-dark burgundy with neutral-t-warm undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage where the natural lip came through quite noticeably, but it added noticeable color as well. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and comfortable to wear. It applied surprisingly evenly for a darker shade like this (and I’m not won over by the Cremesheen formula, as it can often settle into lip lines!). The color was moderately hydrating and wore well for three hours on me. Guerlain Madame Fascine (863) (LE, $30.00) is lighter (95% similar). MAC Richly Revered (LE, $20.00) is cooler (90% similar). Chanel Audace (20) (LE, $34.00) is more shimmery, lighter, brighter (90% similar). Chanel Intrigue (P, $30.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Hyper-Fabulous (LE, $20.00) is more pigmented, warmer (90% similar). Laura Mercier Desire (LE, $25.00) is warmer (85% similar). YSL Intimate Chocolate (217) (P, $38.00) is darker, more pigmented (80% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Love Drunk (320) (P, $29.00) is lighter, warmer (80% similar). MAC Looks Like Sin (LE, $20.00) is lighter (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

They are pretty in the tube but kind of “meh” when swatched. I don’t see anything special about these, they look kind of watered down, and a couple pull into the lip lines really bad. There are many other glosses that are cheaper and outperform these
That is, unfortunately, typical of Cremesheen Glasses 🙁
Deep Kiss is the only one I care for in this set.
Oh, definitely sounds like a no go then!
Nooo it’s too early for me to start thinking holiday sets already!! Nooo!!
lol!
Last year, I bought the Nude-to-Coral holiday set, and I shockingly still have a ton of product left even though I use them fairly often! Yes, these truly ARE great deals! This is the one I’ve had my eye on from the beginning. I don’t know why, but I usually get around 2-3, sometimes 3 1/2 hours out of the Cremesheen’s, pretty sure I am going to buy this one for that Dazzleglass to tone down brighter pinky shades, and for Deelight & Deep Kiss as toppers (moisture!) for a few matte shades.
It’s nice to see a good deal from MAC! 🙂
I was really excited for this until I saw the low rating 🙁 Deelight is my regular, go to gloss that I pair with almost everything except for red lipstick. When I wear cremesheen glass they never settle into my lip lines (except for richer lusher) – But I normally put these on top of lipstick for moisture and shine, so in that sense, these would be alright for layering? Thoughts?
I think for layering they’d be okay 🙂
Meh. I would have liked this set more if there was at least one more opaque shade. These would all look the same on me
Aww! I wish they’d do a Lipglass set!
Whoa – I’m passing on these. As always, thank you for your reviews and swatches!
No problem, Deborah!
They look better in the tube. I think you could find drugstore dupes easily!
I really want to like SOMETHING out of Mac holiday collections, but every year I have to wonder why they decide to make the lipgloss sets all about the Cremesheen Glasses. If there were normal Lipglasses I would for sure purchase one, but no, they have to go with this thin milky formula that more often than not ends up in lip lines and has very little lasting power. I know someone out there- likely girls who can’t stand thick lip products- has to enjoy them, more power to them, but for the life of me I don’t get why Mac has to feature them consistently in every single lipgloss set. Mixing it up in terms of formulas and not only colours would keep a lot of people more interested, imho.
An easy pass. The set just feels so uninspired.
I’m not really a fan of the Cremesheen glasses, so this set is a no for me. I generally like the Dazzlglass but I’d not buy a set for just one of the products.
