MAC’s Mineralize Blush formula is supposed to be a “blush that builds lightly” that has a lightweight feel and “luminous colour.” Petal Power was previously a limited edition shade, I believe, and it was added to the permanent line-up. I repurchased to see whether it had changed at all since its original launch, and I noticed it was significantly lighter and pinker in its permanent iteration (enough that they could be two different colors, really!). It had semi-opaque to totally opaque color payoff with a lightly dusty consistency that felt smooth and didn’t look powdery on the skin. This particular shade has a lot of shimmer, and it appears more metallic with a shiny finish on the skin, which did emphasize pores for me. On my skin, the color lasted for seven hours before breaking down.

Man, I HATE IT when MAC re-launches things and they’re practically a different colour entirely.
Petal Pusher looks really pretty, though! I think I liked the hue a little more the first time around (if I’m not mistaken), but it’s still a lovely shade, shimmer and all.
It’s really odd when it happens – I wonder why it occurs!
I’ve purchased the first edition(limited) but if there’s so much diffirence, maybe i’ll buy the permanent one as well…
There’s a bright side 🙂
Oh so cute! I love this one too! I have a feeling I’m going to wind up getting a lot of these blushes. So happy they are permanent! 🙂
Glad you’re digging them 😀
Wow, look at that gold shimmer!! I already have Benefit Bella Bamba and Becca Flowerchild, so I’m good, but it’s so pretty. Maybe a primer on the cheeks will help fill in the pores and make this more forgiving
Primer might help!
You ain’t kidding about the gold shimmer overload! No, I couldn’t wear this and not feel way too shiny, and with it emphasizing my rather large pores, just NO. I think this one is even worse than Nars Orgasm blush by far.
Haha! It is a shimmery one 🙂
I just saw it when I was in MAC a moment ago swatching some of those Mineralize Blushes to see how they’d show ( or not ) on me, and even in its container it looks like, WHOA!
Wow…it’s a pretty color, but the metallic sheen is REALLY intense on this one. It’s more like a bright, shiny spotlight on the face!
Yes! This one is quite shiny. I’d probably try using a fan brush to minimize it a bit!
I love this blush but I find I’m not using it much because of the sheen/shine/shimmer factor. Am looking for a matte or satin version. Any MAC or otherwise recommendations, Christine?
Maybe Fleur Power?
Love it on you! I’ve bookmarked it as a favorite.
Thank you, Sonia!
Sooooo pretty! I love that color for a blush. I definitely need to get myself one!
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it, Sarah!
This is very pretty! Different than most of my blushes so I might have to cave in and buy it!
Oh, that’s nice! 😀
A really gorgeous colour – this range has been quite good. It looks lovely on you Christine.
Thank you, Genevieve!
I’ve always loved the Mineralize blushes. They’re so glowy and easy to apply, and they just look lovely on! I don’t have this one but I’ve been eyeing it for a while now so I see myself purchasing this soon(-ish, not paid for another 10 days- on countdown).
I wish they would have made some of the Grand Duos permanent. Moon River is my all time favourite blush and luckily I got a backup but although I’ve finished my first one I just can’t bring myself to use my second. I did find a blush similar to it from a mineral makeup company (Earthen Glow or something like that I think) however I only got a sample and I don’t think they even exist anymore! 😛
My two favourite blushes from the permanent line are Dainty and Gentle. Beautiful!
I just don’t do matte bushes, I need shimmer all over ma face! And if look like a disco ball then I know I’ve got it just right! 😀
I always wonder why they don’t expand the blush range more or bring back more from past releases!
I love the shimmer too!
Wow that gives off quite a sheen!
Oh yeah, it immediately reminded me of Sleek’s Rose Gold, super pretty!
It is just lovely, but I don’t want my pores showing even more, so unfortunately I’ll pass on this. Beautiful to look at though.
Bought it today because of your great review. Its a gorgeous color! Thank you!
Wow, that is a lot of gold shimmer! It’s beautiful, but intense.
