MAC Hot Damn-oiselle D'Avignon Extra Dimension Skinfinish Review & Swatches
Hot Damn-oiselle D'Avignon
MAC Hot Damn-oiselle D’Avignon Extra Dimension Skinfinish ($37.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a light, pinky-coral base paired with warmer, peachy gold shimmer. It had a luminous sheen that wasn’t quite metallic unless layered more heavily or applied with a dampened brush.
The texture was smooth to the touch with a firmer press, though it wasn’t stiff or difficult to blend out–but there was no powderiness at all in the pan. As is typical with this type of formula (gel-powder hybrid), it works best with moderately dense, more rounded brushes, which tend to pick up product better; you may find a heavier hand is necessary compared to something with a softer, more powdery texture. It had good color coverage in a single layer that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The color stayed on nicely for nine hours before fading a bit.

The Extra Dimension Skinfinish formula is supposed to give “the perfect glow to the skin” with a “creamy powder formula” that wears for “10 hours.” It’s a powder highlighter that I’d describe as a moderate to intense highlighter, and they come in varying hues with some that might work as highlighting blushes/bronzers are on some skin tones and true highlighters on other skin tones. In general, the formula is very pigmented, blendable, and wears around eight to nine hours on me.

It’s very pretty though an easy pass when Dior’s Peach Delight is the first dupe.
Definitely — lovely shade but I feel like brands have been releasing a lot more of these gel-powder hybrid formulas that a lot of us have dupes!
I’m impressed with the naming of this one, being a nod to Picasso and Rihanna at the same time! KVD did references a lot, and some were fairly obscure, but very KVD-centered. Sometimes that backfired, like having to rename Nosferatu Nazz Fur A Too (sp?) Did she feel she needed to ‘dumb it down’ since people neither understood the reference, nor could pronounce it? Maybe be more inclusive and don’t use insider or ‘symbolic of your identity’ type names? IDK, it was her brand. Wonder what approach Kendo will take? Bet it won’t be so dark. Nars can be even more obscure, but often his names are geographical (unless he’s in an erotic or shock-you mode.) That can be fun to google. Enough digression on names, the shade is lovely and pretty universal, though hardly unique. Should do well
What a beautiful softly duochrome shade! Love it lots. But, I do have some dupes listed. None of them have that golden shift, though.
It looks like Postmodernist Peach might actually be a better shade for me as this one looks warmer and darker. I also love that “melting” description of Postmodernist.
I have Peach Delight but gosh darnit, this is a gorgeous looking product. I just love those imprints (embossings? Not sure the right terminology). Stunning!
Oh my Lourde. I need to swatch both or I’m gonna end up getting both.
Picked this up a few days ago, its SO pretty. Expensive but beautiful!
A really beautiful product – I like the subtle gold twist to it too. Gorgeous embossing and I think MAC has done very well with this one.
