MAC Flamingo Park Cremesheen Glasses
MAC Look Who’s Here Cremesheen Glass ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “soft pink with blue pearl.” It’s a light, pastel pink with subtle, warm undertones and lighter bluish-lavender sparkle. The lighter, creamier color resulted in a milky quality that–as you might expect–settles into lip lines. While the Cremesheen Glass formula is comfortable to wear and moisturizing, it often exaggerates lip lines when worn on its own. The gloss wore for two hours. Pat McGrath Dare to Bare (P, $30.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Demure (LE, $20.00) is more pigmented (95% similar). MAC Pagoda (P, $20.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). MAC Petite Indulgence Cremesheen Glass ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “bright blue-pink.” It’s a light-medium, bubblegum pink with cool, blue undertones and a glossy, creamy finish. It had semi-sheer coverage that tended to settle into lip lines, unfortunately, though it applied evenly otherwise. It lasted for two and a half hours on me and was lightly hydrating. Chanel Baie Rose (89) (LE, $27.00) is darker (95% similar). MAC Viva Glam Nicki (LE, $21.00) is more pigmented (90% similar). NARS Istria (P, $26.00) is lighter (90% similar). Sephora Paradise Pink (15) (P, $12.00) is more shimmery, darker, more muted (90% similar). MAC Next Fad (DC, $19.50) is more shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay Failbait (DC, $26.00) is warmer (90% similar). L'Oreal Florid Pink (LE, $7.99) is darker, more pigmented, better quality (85% similar). MAC Playful Petal Cremesheen Glass ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as an “electric magenta.” It’s a slightly muted, medium fuchsia pink with cool undertones and lighter lavender and fuchsia sparkle. It amplifies the natural pink tones found in my lips but doesn’t really add a lot of color, which this formula isn’t designed to do (they are supposed to be sheer). It only wore for two hours, though! NARS Easy Lover (P, $26.00) is darker (95% similar). MAC Happily Ever After (LE, $21.00) is lighter (85% similar). Bobbi Brown Electric Violet (P, $24.00) is darker (85% similar). MAC Social Season (LE, $20.00) is darker (85% similar). Maybelline Blush Essence (095) (P, $8.99) is darker, cooler (85% similar). ColourPop Wishes (LE, $10.00) is darker, more pigmented (85% similar). Chanel Insolence (P, $32.00) is less shimmery, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
MAC Such Sweeties Cremesheen Glass ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “pastel baby pink.” It’s a very light, cool-toned pink with fine fuchsia pearl. It’s another light, milky gloss that gravitates into lip lines. It had sheer coverage, was hydrating, and lasted for two hours. MAC Elegantly Elegant (LE, $22.00) is brighter (95% similar). Kevyn Aucoin Cyber Opal (P, $30.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Moonglow (314) (P, $29.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). MAC For the Frill of It (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC She Betta Werrrk (LE, $21.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Sweet Tooth Cremesheen Glass ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “pastel baby pink.” It’s a slightly brightened, medium pink with warm undertones and fine gold pearl. It had semi-sheer color payoff that didn’t look streaky on, but it emphasized all the lip lines and natural texture of the lips. It would be a lot better over a lipstick or lip liner, I think. The color was comfortable to wear for the two and a half hours it lasted. MAC Candy Box (P, $21.00) is lighter (95% similar). Pat McGrath Belladonna (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). Dior Diorama (785) (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Pat McGrath Prima Donna (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). MAC Angel (P, $21.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). Bite Beauty Ten (Watercolor) (LE, ) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). NARS Super Orgasm (P, $26.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Christian Louboutin Beaute Altareva (P, $85.00) is darker (80% similar). NARS Bound (P, $26.00) is darker (80% similar). Dior Swan (263) (P, $35.00) is less shimmery, lighter (80% similar). Omg-is the palyful petal the same as Sweet Strawberry from the Hello Kitty collection? It looks remarkably similar!
That would make my day!
I’m not sure, I don’t think I have that one any more!
I’m surprised these did as well as they did in your reviews. Frankly looking at the swatches I really didn’t expect that. I suppose they’d be ok if you were using them over another product like a lip liner, crayon, or lipstick…I prefer a more opaque finish to my glosses so I’ll be passing. Thanks for the reviews!
They are supposed to be sheer, so that’s not an issue with these 🙂 If you like opaque glosses, I would always ignore the Cremesheen Glasses since they are designed to be sheer! Hope that helps!
Playful Petal is by far the prettiest of this part of the collection. I know how the Cremesheen Lipglass doesn’t last long on bare lips, but I really enjoy them over a lipstick or even a lip pencil! They just feel so nice and moisturizing.
They are comfy!
Playful Petal is pretty, kind of reminds me of the Sephora Holographic Lip Gels
A little less dimensional but in the same kind of vein!
That’s good to know! I think that puts Playful Petal on my list then. I often put on one of the Sephora Holographics and wipe it off because I feel like it is a little OTT for the occasion. Still love,Love, love the Sephora Holographics! Moisture too always a plus! 🙂
Yes, love those Sephora Holographic Lip Glosses! Since I’m a little magpie, I’m usually packing them on for the OTT look, but if I want to tone them down, I dot it on, then go over it with a clear lip balm. Wish they had made them permanent !
I really like these, especially Sweet Tooth. I really love the formula even though it often gets lower marks…I like to reapply my gloss frequently and don’t like when it’s too tacky so these feel so comfortable to me. Thanks for the review!
No problem, Jm! It is hydrating, and over other products, it’s not so bad 🙂
I love Playful Petal as a topper. The rest aren’t too impressive; they’re very milky looking.
‘Tis the downfall of most shades in the Cremesheen Glass formula!
Lip products with blue, lavender, and/or fuschia sparkles will be the death of me! I need to find lip safe glitter in those colors and just transform my existing stash!
There’s an idea 🙂
I’m adding Petite Indulgence and Playful Petal to my list!
Yay!
Nothing calling my name here.
Money saved!
I’m not much of a gloss person, but Playful Petal looks like it might be nice over something like Heroine when you don’t want the matte look.
I agree! I think these tend to look better layered!
The sparkles in Playful Petal work so well in that color, imo. Whimsical, but not overwhelmingly so.
Agreed!
I think the glosses will be the one thing in this collection that I will totally pass over. Playful Petal is getting a consideration though. 🙂
They’re easily skipped once you have a few glosses like ’em!
Petite Indulgence is a really pretty shade!
It is a nice color!
Christine, will you be reviewing the Lancôme Parisian Pastels? It’s the highlighter that comes with 9 cubes. Looks so darn pretty. I haven’t been tempted by an expensive highlighter, it’s $60, like this one. Thanks.
Sorry, I don’t have that.
They look pretty from afar, but in the close-ups it bothers me that they settle in lines.
They are settlers for me 🙁
I think what makes this collection a hit for me is that there’s so much variety in all of the pink shades! Coral pink, dark pinks, pale pinks, bright pinks – it’s really nice.
There is some variety, so long as you do like your pinks and corals, lol!
I’m not huge into lip gloss, but when I do wear it, milky pink glosses are what I gravitate towards. I’ve never tried the Cremesheen glass formula, but Such Sweeties is really calling my name!
