MAC Canyon Dreamin' Next to Nothing Bronzing Powder Review & Swatches

Canyon Dreamin'
MAC Canyon Dreamin’ Next to Nothing Bronzing Powder ($30.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a light-medium, golden brown with a natural matte finish. It had rich color coverage in a single layer where a little went a long way, so I’d highly recommend using a lighter hand with this product (or a less-dense brush) if the sheerer coverage, as marketed, was what you wanted.
The texture was smooth and finely-milled, though a little thinner and more prone to adhering more readily to bare skin but not wanting to spread and diffuse as easily–this does happen with some more matte powders (as my skin is normal-to-dry, so it’s not flat/matte). I find applying over matte foundation or a dusting of translucent powder remedies that, though I applied and blended it out as seen in the swatch over bare skin–it just took a little more effort! It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed signs of fading.

Formula Overview
$30.00/0.35 oz. - $85.71 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "silky-soft texture" with "sheer-to-medium buildable coverage and a natural, luminous finish." The finish is particularly lovely on this product--smooth, satiny but not shimmery, very skin-like. The powder was silky to the touch, finely-milled, but was a little thin, and I found it wasn't quite as blendable as you might want out of a bronzer, especially as it was quite pigmented. I'd highly recommend applying with a lighter hand, and if you use a dewier foundation, you might find it easier to work with over setting powder. It wore well for eight to nine hours on me before fading noticeably.

Probably not my “best” bronzer tone to wear, as this appears rather light, but I do think it looks good. As it stands, the only bronzer I have my eye on is the one in ND Tan & Glow.
I just wanted to say that I really appreciate that you always post the ingredient list of the products you review! For some reason, MAC (and all of the other retailers) didn’t post any ingredient lists for this collection and it’s so important to those of us with allergies! So thank you so much!
Glad I can help, Aubrey! MAC’s been much better posting, and I was surprised they didn’t – I prefer to copy & paste the list so it’s searchable if I can (and the photo is still there as well).
