A Latte Sheen/Semi-Sweet

MAC A Latte Sheen/Semi-Sweet Studio QuikTrik Stick ($32.00 for 0.42 oz.) has a medium, shimmery copper shade on one end and a medium-dark, reddish-brown on the other. The duo seems like the bronzing pairing to me, as both shades will add warmth, luminosity, and a healthy sheen to the skin–very summer to my eye!

The QuikTrik Stick is a double-ended, cream-based stick that’s supposed to work for highlighting, contouring, bronzing, or blushing. It is supposed to have buildable, blendable color and can be worn over bare skin or foundation. One side is more shimmery, while the other is darker and more natural (but still has a sheen from the creamier consistency) in finish. In general, the formula applies well to bare skin or over liquid foundation, as it is very emollient, blendable, and easy to spread across the skin, but I notice that it seemed to break up my foundation a bit after six hours of wear.

A Latte Sheen

A Latte Sheen is a medium, coppery brown with warm, reddish undertones and fine gold pearl. There’s plenty of luminosity on the skin–and I think it is more noticeable in person–but the finer pearl gives it a smoother sheen that didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. The texture was lightly creamy, somewhat emollient, and while easily blended on bare skin, it remained a little wet throughout the wear. It had sheer, buildable coverage (up to semi-opaque) that wore for six and a half hours on me.

Semi-Sweet

Semi-sweet is a medium-dark brown with warm, reddish undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-sheer to nearly opaque color coverage (took about two to three layers) with a lightly creamy, moderately slippery texture that I could easily pat on and blend out, but it had shorter-wear. The texture never fully dried down, and it started to break down after six and a half hours on me.
