Lancome Impatiente & Lie de Vin L'Absolu Rouge Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Impatiente (172)
Lancome Impatiente (172) L’Absolu Rouge Hydrating Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a vivid, medium orange with moderate, warm red undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff that adhered evenly to my lips. The lipstick had a lightweight, lightly creamy texture that was thin without being clingy and had a little tackiness to it.
This shade didn’t sit quite as nicely on my lips compared to other shades in the range, but in person, I didn’t detect any settling into my lip lines (as there was a touch in the close-up photos). It wore well for five hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$32.00/0.14 oz. - $228.57 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "hydrating" with "eight-hour" wear that is available in three finishes (sheer, cream, and matte). The cream and matte shades finishes highly pigmented, while the sheer finish is more medium, buildable in coverage.
The texture of the cream finish was lightly creamy, lightweight, and not too thin or too thick, so they applied comfortably, evenly, and were flattering on lips. The matte finish was slightly thicker and "heavier" in comparison, though still lightweight to wear, and it had more of a satin finish initially that wore down to matte after an hour or two. The sheer finish was more emollient and had a shinier finish with translucency but wasn't so sheer that all the shades would look the same on.
The majority of shades did not last eight hours on me, though the wear was more between four and six hours with most mid-depth and deeper shades lasting five to six hours and the lighter shades and sheer finish shades lasting closer to four hours. The formula was hydrating across all three finishes.
There was a noticeable, powdery floral scent that translated slightly into a taste at times. It was a stronger scented product where I smelled it for a few hours into the wear, not just in the tube or when initially applied.

Lie de Vin (192)
Lancome Lie de Vin (192) L’Absolu Rouge Sheer Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium red with cooler undertones and a luminous sheen with faint pearl throughout. It had semi-sheer to medium, lightly buildable coverage, which was as marketed based on the finish. The texture was slightly more emollient with less tackiness and more slip compared to other finishes in the range, so it didn’t wear quite as long as a result. It lasted nicely for four hours and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

Damnable Covid be gone! I’m dying to wear regular tube lipsticks like these two! Then again, I would likely get MAC Bittersweetie instead of Lie De Vin even though I kind of prefer the slight sheerness of Lie de Vin?
But; Impatiente looks so much better than it sounds! I can totally see it being a shade that would look bombshell beautiful against my skintone. I do have a super, Nyx Indie Flick. But it’s got to be at least 8 years old. I wore it on the last day of the last Regional Convention that my daughter and I attended together. I had on an orange floral print dress and she said that I looked very beautiful in that deep, vivid orange.
Lovely shades, but I think there are much cheaper dupes of better quality around.
I’m glad I have two dupes for Lie de Vin, I still put it on my WL as it’s sheerer and sometimes I like sheer lipstick. It’s not got a high priority though.
Impatiente is the kind of lipstick colour that makes me smile and feel happy, that is until I try it on, orange lips doesn’t suit me all that well. The closest I come to orange lipsticks is Lady Danger, I think I’ve used it twice over the six or so years I’ve had it. 😛
