Huda Beauty Winter Solstice 3D Highlighter Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Winter Solstice
Huda Beauty Winter Solstice 3D Highlighter Palette ($45.00 for 1.10 oz.) contains a cream highlighter and three powder highlighters housed in a slim, cardboard palette. I liked the palette overall, as none of the products were difficult to apply or blend out, but the textures of the powder shades are denser, so the palette would work best with denser brushes or a heavy hand.

Frosted Kiss
Frosted Kiss has a milky, white base with iridescent pink pearl. It had medium, buildable pigmentation with a subtle, pearly sheen. It yielded a noticeable glow but did not appear metallic or shiny, which was how it was intended (and it can also be used as a base layer with one of the powder highlighters patted on top). The texture was lightly creamy, thin but not too emollient, and it sat well on the skin. I had no trouble patting it on with either a brush or fingertips, and I did not have issues with it lifting foundation. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

Arctic Glow
Arctic Glow is a light-medium, cool-toned lavender with a blue-to-violet shifting pearl. It had good pigmentation, though it took a second layer to get full coverage, with a moderately dense, slightly cream-like texture that blended out with ease and did not seem to emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight hours on me.

Northern Lights
Northern Lights is a dirty, light-medium gold with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The texture was denser but not stiff, so it was still blendable on the skin without much effort. It did require a denser brush or heavier handed application to get product onto a brush, though. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and lasted well for eight and a half hours. Despite seeming more metallic and almost thick initially, it did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture.

Winter Rose
Winter Rose is a light-medium pink with warm, coppery undertones and a pink-to-coral shifting shimmer. It looked cooler and warmer depending on the angle, and I could see the duochrome shift in person. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable with moderate density, but it was easy to pick up with a brush and blend out on the skin. The finish had some shine but wasn’t metallic when blended out. It wore well for eight hours on me.

I felt that this palette was better than the Summer one. I like your suggestion about using a dense brush. Her formula is different than most highlighters. Love your eye look!
hi christine!
if i have anastasia moonchild do i still need this? i dont care so much as theres a cream formula – more so the shades!
I think you could skip!
What a beautiful and great quality quad of highlighters! I really love this for the stronger shifts in each shade, making it have a 3D effect for real.
I NEED this omg! I have been stalking swatches of this palette, thank you SO much Christine!
wish they had arctic glow available separately .
i think it’d pair beautifully with “confetti” shimmer match stix from fenty beauty since confetti has a translucent base .
It does work beautifully with Confetti as well as similar highlight options (like Laura Gellar Diamond Dust or PMG Nude Skin Fetish).
Gorgeous!
If ever I purchase this, it will be because this review helped me in the decision. I’ll still have to test, because “3D”ish is hard to believe, but they look so nice and subtil, yet glowing on you. And I don’t want to look like a disco ball! 😉
I am the kind of consumer that strongly cares about the names and appearance of my products so bear that in mind when I say- I could not buy this because the cover image would annoy me FAR too much. Urk.
I like Arctic Glow, Northern Lights, and Winter Rose. Now to see if I can find someone to pass off Frosted Kiss to, because I definitely wouldn’t use it.
This is very pretty, but I’m not sure how often I would get use out of it!
