Flower Beauty Nectar Blush Bomb Review & Swatches
Nectar
Flower Beauty Nectar Blush Bomb ($9.99 for 0.3 oz.) is a bright pop of orange with stronger, warm yellow undertones and a natural sheen. It had buildable pigmentation from semi-sheer to mostly opaque that dried down to a dewy finish that wasn’t tacky. The texture was smooth, spreadable, and gel-like–emollient without being runny or watery. I had no trouble applying and blending out the blush color on my cheeks over bare skin or over foundation. This shade lasted nicely for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed any signs of fading.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to have "buildable" coverage with a "natural looking" finish that "blends seamlessly" and is "non-staining." They have a gel-like consistency--more liquid-like but with more substance, a little less watery in feel--that plays better with base products than more water-like liquid/cream blushes. This type of gel texture seems to smooth over base products without lifting them up in my experience. I found the texture easy to apply over bare skin or base products with fingertips or synthetic brushes (though I tend to use fingertips for ease and because they're faster to clean between swatches!). They dried down for the most part but remained more natural to dewy in finish, which was the best of both worlds -- the sheen of liquid and cream products but without a bunch of slip-and-slide during wear.
The pigmentation ranged from shade to shade, though they were all buildable, but a couple of shades, like Bitten (deeper berry), were shades where a little went a long way; they were more semi-opaque to opaque in coverage with sheer coverage being possible by using a very small amount of product. The wear ranged from eight to nine hours before the color started to fade noticeably.

I love these lighter ones! It makes me want to buy a liquid blush for the first time haha!
I know, right? They’ve been added to my “seriously considering” list, which surprises me greatly.
A lovely subtle effect these blushes have.
It’s nice to see these earn such high marks. Nothing delights me more than drug store ranges that perform consistently well!
Back in the day when I was first learning about and able to investigate higher end brands, Smashbox had a clear liquid cheek product that was supposed to change to your best color depending on the ph of your skin once applied. At least I think that was how it was supposed to work! Can’t remember the name of the product. But I always remember it and these kind of make me think of that product, even though they are already pigmented, and I actually am interested in picking up and trying a few now following your reviews!
I think it was called O-Glow or something. They had a lip gloss that did the same thing.
