What’s your date night look?

It’s usually whatever I’m testing that day, LOL! I love putting makeup on, BUT I’m not so in love with removing + reapplying so I don’t usually take the time to do so. If I did, though, then it’s often reaching for a semi-recently reviewed palette (that I enjoyed and want to play with again) and then going from there. I definitely don’t have a signature look, though.

I’ve got a toddler at home. What’s a date night? The closest thing that comes in mind is my hair up in a messy bun, a freshly washed face with my night serums and sleeping mask on, a lip balm, sweats, a cup of tea and Game of Thrones – with me an hubby on the couch and the baby asleep.

My husband doesn’t care for makeup, never has. That being said, my “date makeup” is quite simple because I want it to be something he likes.

1. Thin layer of foundation, concealer, setting powder.
2. Shimmery pink champagne on the lid, matte warm brown in the crease.
3. Brown eyeliner on lower lash line. Lots of mascara. Filled in brows.
4. Warm nude blush. Light bronzer. Low-key highlighter.
5. MLBB lipstick or gloss, something easily removable because I don’t want to leave any product on him when we kiss.

Depends on my mood and the what we’re doing and how my day has been. if it’s going to a movie and I’m on a rush coming back from a run I usually just go for a light makeup think Viseart sultry muse tones, mac face and body and tawny blushes with EL modern mercury and Kevyn aucoin starlight. Or I would layer Mac rose gold fx with bronze fx in lieu of powder highlights.
All lightly applied and blended well.
If we’re hitting another place right after I would apply some orange-red lipstick just to compliment the bronze and copper tones. NARS Annabella or Lisa Eldridge velvet morning.
This has been my look the past few dates. I may change it sometime but I’m enjoying it especially with the sunny weather and my post run tan.

I hate to admit it but it depends on what I’m wearing. I try to match my eyeliner with what I’m wearing then go from there. If I don’t do that , I pick my highlighter first then go from there.

I think mine changed depending on the activity and whether or not I’m going shortly after work or not. If it’s not right after work, I have green eyes and love to play them up, so I would often go for a smokey copper/bronze eye look, some highlighter and a pretty blush, with a light pink or apricot kind of nude lip or gloss. If we were going after work, I would just update my day look a little bit, touch up and reapply and or maybe add an extra pop of some pretty color somewhere.

Like several have said, I am trying to grasp the concept of what a “date night” is. Even if I had someone to do special makeup for, besides the cat, in my small town there really wouldn’t be any point. So, the answer to the question is nothing but when I do decide to go out I just wear whatever I want.

Christine, what is the eye look you’re wearing in this photo? It is lovely.

My “date looks” don’t vary all that much from my day looks though I would probably go more intensely red on my lips or use a brighter liner or shadow under my lower lashes (though I often do this in the day as well) and I’d break out some highlighter for my almost nonexistent cheekbones.

Our date nights are. usually pretty spontaneous, so I might have time to just freshen up whatever I’m wearing and brighten up my lip color .?

As a person who has been married for 40+ years, we don’t exactly go on ‘date’ nights, but when we go out for dinner I love to absolutely glam up and rock shimmery eyeshadows that complement my outfit, lots of mascara and bold shaded lips in either bright reds, berry or coppery/orange shades. My husband loves it when I wear lots of makeup. When my purchase of the Colour Pop Foolish lipstick arrived, he said , ‘What, another lipstick?’ My response was ‘A girl can never have enough lipsticks’ To which he replied, ‘Yep and Imelda Marcos never had enough shoes” But he liked the colour.

I’m single AF and loving it, but if I did have a date or a date night, I’d just do what I usually do-coordinate my makeup with whatever I’m wearing. I might not apply quite as much at first so I wouldn’t scare him off, but I’d tell him up front that I like to wear bold makeup and if I liked him enough for more than one date I’d gradually up the application each time.
