Intense Emotion
Estee Lauder Intense Emotion Hi-Lustre Light Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep, pinky red with cool, blue undertones and a barely-there ruby red pearl. It had nearly opaque coverage–definitely greater than medium coverage–in a single layer, so for sheerer coverage, I’d recommend applying to the bottom lip and then pressing to blend the color onto the top lip. The consistency was smooth, creamy with just enough slip to be comfortable to apply and to wear. This shade lasted for over six hours on me, left a stain behind, and was hydrating.
The formula is supposed to have medium coverage with a lustrous finish. It takes the Pure Color Envy formula and adds shimmer to it with the end result varying from lightly pearlized to more frosted and near-metallic. The shimmer was finer in size, so the lipsticks did not feel gritty on the lips, and the particles didn’t migrate as the lipstick wears down. The coverage was more semi-opaque to opaque, though a lighter hand could achieve medium coverage. . It was lightly creamy with some slip that became more noticeable as the formula warmed up against the lips. The wear ranged from four to six hours and was typically hydrating. The formula featured a vanilla scent but had no discernible taste.

The formula is supposed to have medium coverage with a lustrous finish. It took the Pure Color Envy formula and added shimmer to it with the end result varying from lightly pearlized to more frosted and near-metallic. The shimmer was finer in size, so the lipsticks did not feel gritty on the lips, and the particles didn’t migrate as the lipstick wore down.
The coverage ranged from semi-sheer to nearly opaque, so it really depended on the shade on how true it was to medium coverage. The formula felt lightly creamy, thinner but not clingy, and with just enough slip to be comfortable to apply and to wear without feeling slippery during wear. The shades lasted from four to six hours and usually hydrating while worn.
The formula had a vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Pretty Lucky
Estee Lauder Pretty Lucky Hi-Lustre Light Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bold, bright medium-dark coral-red with warm undertones and fine shimmer. It had a glossier finish compared to other shades in the range, and it was also nearly opaque in one pass. The consistency had more slip, so there were faint “lines” visible if I pressed my lips together, though the brighter color and glossier finish made this hard to notice at a normal viewing distance. It lasted for six hours on me and was moisturizing.

Sweet Sinner
Estee Lauder Sweet Sinner Hi-Lustre Light Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium pink with warm undertones and a fine, white shimmer. It seemed to pull cooler (or pinker) when applied to the lips, though the color in the tube and swatched was definitely yellow-based. The texture was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and had enough slip not to tug but not slide around. It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage that lasted for four hours on me.

Intense Emotion looks AMAZING on you! And I suffer from a weakness for red lipstick so I think I may purchase that one. I haven’t tried any Estee Lauder and I think I’ll dip my toe into that brand with that shade!
Aw, thank you Sarah! 🙂
Intense Emotion is brilliant! The slight shimmer works well with such a vibrant red.
The shimmer is nice in it!
Intense Emotion is all that I love in a darker red lipstick, especially that bit of ruby red shimmer that gives it dimension! Love it lots!
I love so many of the dupes for Sweet Sinner. Most of which have either more warmth or at least a golden shimmer to them, making them more wearable for me. Will probably still try it on, but the coolness of a lighter pink may look “off” on me.
I could see a little more warmth working better for you!
Intense Emotion and Pretty Lucky are very nice indeed!
They are!
It seems I lost the connection when I pressed post. Sorry if this is a double posting.
I really like Intense Emotion a lot, it’s so, well, intense 🙂 A gorgeous colour. The others are pretty as well, but the red is on the wishlist, poor evergrowing list 🙂
Our fault – we are in a neverending battle of server woes 🙁
Intense Emotion IS intense, haha!
intense emotion is such a beautiful red! I love the depth of it!
Me too! 🙂
I really think EL has put out some very pretty lipsticks lately!
They have!
I think I might be in trouble here. All three pass the if it looks good on Christine it will look good on me, since our coloring is basically the same. They are all very pretty, and Sweet Sinner looks like the perfect Spring into Summer shade.
Uh oh! 🙂
