ColourPop The Secret Life of Scorpio Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
The Secret Life of Scorpio
ColourPop The Secret Life of Scorpio Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) includes two shimmer shades (mid-tone purple, red-plum) and two matte shades (light rosy mauve, berry-red). All four shades had opaque color payoff, were blendable, and longer-wearing with some powderiness, so you’ll want to do eyes before base in case of fallout.

That's Deep
That’s Deep is a medium-dark purple with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had intense pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin as the consistency was smooth, lightly creamy, but ended up being a little too emollient to work with using a dry brush on my lid as it did not want to stick/adhere as well as anticipated. It needed more pressure to be pressed onto the skin than was comfortable on my eye (with a brush), so you’ll likely want to use this with a dampened brush or a fingertip for the best adhesion. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Burning Passion
Burning Passion is a medium-dark, reddish-plum with warmer undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It was slightly more loosely-pressed in the pan, so it had more chance to have fallout if I wasn’t careful to press/pack it on (or use it with a dampened brush). The eyeshadow was richly pigmented and lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Secrets Secrets
Secrets Secrets is a deep, pinky-red with cool undertones and a matte finish. There was moderate powderiness in the pan, but it proved to be blendable, pigmented, and fairly easy to work with on bare skin. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably and left a bit of a stain behind.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing." The way the Pressed Pigments differ is that they're not intended for usage on the immediate eye area.
The majority of the shades are semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, blend out fairly well, and can sometimes be a bit drier/more powdery compared to typical matte shades. They often wear eight to nine hours on me before fading, but many shades in the Pressed Pigment family leave some staining behind.

I’d love these colours in a scarf or in a length of silk fabric but for my eyes, they just wouldn’t work.
This is really pretty, gorgeous autumn shades!
My favorite of the series yet! Perfect colors going into the cooler season, too. However, due to my strong feelings concerning astrology and the like, I will simply dive into my lovely CT Bejeweled palette with some ABH Buen Fresco thrown in for a close enough effect!
This is technically my star sign – but alas these shades are not quite for my eyes. Although I do think both the shimmer shades have turned out well and complement each other.
Scorpio is my sun and moon sign, and I couldn’t be happier with the color scheme on this one!
What a pretty quad!
