ColourPop Just Peachy Liquid Lipstick Trio Review, Photos, Swatches
Just Peachy
ColourPop Just Peachy Liquid Lipstick Trio ($15.00 for 0.33 fl. oz.) includes three shades of liquid lipstick–two are in the Ultra Matte formula and one is in the Ultra Satin formula. The Ultra Mattes were better than some of the recent releases I’ve tried, but Instigator did have slight “cracking” when I smiled. What was fun about this set was it went to show just how different products can look outside of their tubes–they almost looked alike in the group shot but on, the differences are magnified.

LELimited Edition. $15.00.
Instigator
Instigator is a medium, peachy coral with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It took over an hour to fully dry down, though it was mostly matte and transfer-proof after a couple of minutes–there was just a sheen to it for a long time. It was richly pigmented, smooth and thin without being watery, and covered evenly. The major issue I had was the way the color pulled away noticeably around lip lines, so it looked “cracked” when I smiled. This shade wore well for six hours, faded away evenly, and was somewhat drying after four hours. I found that the color included in the trio was noticeably pinker than the standalone shade I have.

It is a long-wearing, pigmented lipstick that starts off glossy and dries down quickly to that super flat matte finish. They have minimal transfer with some of the lighter shades having almost none for the first few hours of wear, but any time you’ve had a meal, they lose that transfer-resistant quality to a noticeable degree. They tend to wear anywhere from six to ten hours with darker shades maintaining better color coverage and wear over a longer period of time.
Some shades get a little drying about two-thirds to three-fourths through the wear, while a few shades have been fairly non-drying even many hours into wear. They fade away evenly with most color loss occurring from the center of the lips if eating a more oil-based meal but the majority of color survives a meal.
Reapplication has been hit or miss and tends to depend on how well it wore away and how easily the shade applies normally, but reapplication tends to emphasize the lip’s natural texture significantly compared to initial application and gives lips a very wrinkled, dried-up look. I’ve layered gloss on top of some shades with moderate success, though it will obviously lose the matte finish and will transfer and I’ll get tiny flakes where the matte lip color has lifted by mixing with gloss but has been pretty minimal. The formula had no discernible taste or scent.

Screenshot
Screenshot is medium, peachy brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. The smooth, spreadable consistency yielded full-color coverage in a single pass. The Ultra Satin formula is one of my favorites, because it offers intense pigmentation paired with comfortable, long-wear–the color was still going strong after six hours of wear with just a little bit of color that had settled into my lip lines. It was neither drying nor hydrating.

It is supposed to be a “lightweight, bold lipstick with a satin finish”liquid lipstick that is “extra intense colour saturation” and “long-wearing,” but the brand is quick to note that it is “not completely kiss proof.” The consistency is very light to lightweight with a thin to mousse-like consistency–they feel a little heavier going on than the Ultra Matte formula, but they don’t feel heavy on. They dry down somewhat, but it isn’t a full, flat dry down like matte liquid lipsticks, and when you press your lips together, there is moderate tackiness there, but I didn’t notice any lifting or separating of color by doing so.
They have been extremely long-wearing and comfortable to wear for the most part–it’s after ten hours or so that I notice my lips feeling a little dry–but six hours into wear and the colors have looked good post-meals/post-drinking. I think if you like the idea of longer-wearing, mostly matte lip color but find most liquid lipsticks too drying or too flat while not needing an ultra-hydrating formula, you might like these.

Speed Dial
Speed Dial is a medium-dark brown with warm, orange undertones and a semi-matte finish. It didn’t dry as matte as most of ColourPop’s Ultra Mattes have in the past, but it was transfer-proof, and I didn’t have any issues with the color lifting if I pressed my lips together. The shine finally worn down after an hour or so of wear. The pigmentation was great, while the texture was smooth, not too thick or too thin (but one of the thinner liquid lipstick formulas nevertheless) an spread well across the lips. It wore for almost eight hours with minimal fading, but it was a bit drying.

SOOO Beautiful!! I’m a sucker for anything peachy/coral like this so I was pretty keen to see the swatches and they do not disappoint!
Yayyy!
I wish Colourpop would focus on more Ultra Satin shades!!! Those are the only ones I buy anymore and it seems they’re consistently outnumbered by the ultra mattes with every release!
Awwww! Well, maybe in spring!
I agree. I don’t do the mattes because after an hour, my lips are like carpet. I like their satin formula, though, and love these peachy colors.
i know right! i’ve tried both formulas and its incredible how comfortable ultra satins are in comparison to mattes. their best formula IMO
Ooooh lovely! What is it with all these awesome lippie releases 😀
It is the year of the lip!
While the color is too light for my complexion, I really like how Instigator looks on you! It’s a shame that it cracked when smiling, though.
Thank you!
Love the first 2 shades immensely! Very wearable peachy shades for me. The 3rd looks good, but might give me weird liver disease effects with my deceptively olive undertones. Why orange-based brown lipstick does this is beyond me.
It’s a mystery! It is amazing how undertone can play such a huge role!
Not my colors, but glad these got good scores
Gotta love peach to love this trio!
I hate peachy shades on myself, but im glad these were good for those that want them!! 🙂
Great attitude 🙂
I love the colors, but they are way too similar to be selling in a trio.
I think that’s more their point – variations on peach 🙂
i bought speed dial a month ago & i really like the formula .
it’s much smoother & more comfortable than some of the shades from their very first ultra matte lip release (lychee & zipper flaked/crumbled) .
i also noticed the wand is different . it’s shorter & a bit more flat . i prefer the new wand .
my only complaint is that i wish the shade was darker . i find that i have to pair it with a brown liner for it to be the dark peach that i was hoping it’d be .
Their wands seem to vary a little from batch to batch – some are fuzzier, some are smoother/flatter.
I’m not buying anymore drying liquid lipsticks. I don’t really care for them even if I like the colors. Usually end up putting a gloss or moisturizing lipstick over them. My liquid lipsticks lately haven’t been getting any love!
Haha! I hear ya, Denise. I am not trying to wear drying lip products for fun any more!
You look amazing in all of them !!! But is Maybelline clay crush a close dupe of screenshot? I thought screenshot is kinda orange-peachy nude and clay crush is more like pinky brown nude? I already owned clay crush and i dont wanna have 2 similar colors . thanks xD
Thank you, Jessie! You can compare any two shades side-by-side in the Swatch Gallery! 🙂
I kind of wish Just Peachy becomes permanent as it’s a nice shade that I just don’t have anything like it.
Here’s hoping!
Those would make me look terrible. They should have called the collection “Liquid Trump”.
Are they the same size as the regular one?
Yes!
