Tarte Homeslice is a moderately warm-toned, light-medium coral with a matte finish. It is a permanent lipstick that retails for $20.00 and contains 0.2 oz.

Editor's Review

Tarte Homeslice Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paints ($20.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a medium coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good color payoff, but it was not full coverage; you'd definitely need to apply a second layer to get that level of coverage. The consistency was thin, a little streaky and hard to spread across the lips without the color sinking into lip lines. This shade lasted for five hours but had some uneven fading around the center of the mouth. It felt a bit drying over time.

The Quick Dry formula is supposed to have "full coverage" with a "transfer-proof" finish that won't crack, dry your lips out, or feather. After trialling more shades in the formula, there is a lot of inconsistency across shades. Some are nice, some are terrible; some absolutely "crack" and others have a soft matte finish that is transfer-proof without making lips look drier. The formula is, overall, lightly to moderately drying on me, though the wear is longer at five to seven hours and most shades had good pigmentation.

I received this color this month from Ulta for my Birthday. Let me start by saying this was the darkest shade Ulta had, which is really sad (I am tan deep Mac NC45 for reference with darker brown natural colored lips). One must add a lip liner and gloss to this color for it to work. I am usually not one to layer lip products so having to do this was a drag for me. Adding gloss definitely helped dryness but takes away transfer proof. How this helps WOC and anyone with darker skin with less pigmented lips that Ulta offers this color to.
