Marc Jacobs Beauty Slow Burn & Hot Cocoa Le Marc Liquid Lip Crèmes Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Slow Burn
Marc Jacobs Beauty Slow Burn Marc Liquid Lip Crème ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is medium-dark, rosy mauve with warm undertones and a creamy, lightly shiny finish. It had rich, opaque color payoff that covered the lips with smooth, even coverage. The texture had a light-medium consistency that spread well across the lips but did not feel too thin or too clingy on. It lasted for five and a half hours on me and was lightly hydrating over time.
The formula is supposed to be hydrating, long-wearing, and have full coverage. If you like the idea of liquid lipstick but prefer more of a satin finish and something more forgiving on the lips, then this formula is going to be more suitable for you. If you prefer a flat, matte finish that’s transfer-proof, then this formula will not meet your needs. It is, literally, a liquid version of lipstick–it feels like a lightweight lipstick with light to moderate slip that lasts four to six hours.

Hot Cocoa
Marc Jacobs Beauty Hot Cocoa Le Marc Liquid Lip Crème ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark, orange-brown with warm undertones and a creamy, lightly glossy finish. It had a smooth, light-medium-weight texture that glided on the lips and didn’t skip or drag, which made it comfortable to wear. The color payoff was fully opaque and went on evenly. The color wore for almost six hours, and it was lightly moisturizing when worn.

Oooh, Slow Burn! I’m so excited that it’s close to one of my fave DC’d colors, BITE Shiraz. Will need to swatch in store to see how close, but glad it’s permanent
Hope it works for you, Katherine!
These two are beautiful! But neither is unique for me at all…I do wish this line had more and different shades bc none of them are really calling my name!
I’ll be curious if they expand the range!
These two are also really pretty, really liking the Liquid Lip Cremes so far!
Happy to hear it!
I got both shades and love them! Hopefully he’ll expand the line and add some color.
That is great, Beti! How long do they wear for you?
Around the 5 h mark which I think is pretty good for a creamy formula.
Love these 2! However, I do have MAC Mehr and Modesty, so Slow Burn is highly duped here.
Hot Cocoa looks so beautiful applied, I’m just not so that orangey browns are my best shade. They can really give me an odd and unflattering jaundiced appearance to my face.
At least you have some good dupes for Slow Burn! Add a wee bit of gloss, and you’ll be good to go!
I am really digging Slow Burn! I also appreciate that it’s lightly hydrating.
YAY! 😀
How does this formula compare to the colourpop ultra satin lips?
Ultra Satins dry down a lot more and have a more matte finish. I don’t think they’re similar other than being liquids.
FYI. I just received $5 refund from Sephora due to their price change. It says the lip cream price is US$28.00. Now, the lip creams are listed on the Sephora website, but all of them are not in stock.
Thank you!
After finishing this comment I am immediately going to hit the Sephora ejector button to buy Slow Burn. For those few seconds we’re going to forget the dupe list for this shade exists k?
3…2…1…Blast offffffffff
Aww!
Hmm, I like them I think I’d prefer the Bite dupes. Thier stuff is pretty moisturizing overall.
So I’m loving the color and formula of Slow Burn, but it smells like a combination of vanilla and burnt plastic. I’m not seeing anyone else with this issue – wondering if I got a bad one… :-/
Oh no! 🙁
