ColourPop Chic-y Pressed Powder Shadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Chic-y
ColourPop Chic-y Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($18.00 for 0.21 oz.) is one of two, limited edition palettes from the collaboration with iluvsarahii. I really feel like ColourPop has improved their powder eyeshadow formula from its initial launch, as their mattes are still very blendable and pigmented but seem smoother and less messy/powdery. While more basic in overall color scheme, the colors came together well and were of good quality, so if you’re in need of a warm-toned, neutral eyeshadow “quad,” this might be one to check out.
Chic-y
LELimited Edition. $18.00.
Distressed
Distressed is a bright beige with cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had a very smooth, velvety texture that was just a touch powdery in the pan but applied with good pigmentation that did not immediately sheer out if I tried to blend it out, though it could certainly be diffused for sheerer coverage. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Vivacious
Vivacious is a light-medium peach with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had good pigmentation, but the slightly looser texture made it prone to sheering out a bit and had some fallout during application. This was the type of texture that would improve dramatically applied with a dampened brush, as the powder binds and adheres better to the lid. The color wore well for eight hours on me before fading.

Freckles
Freckles is a medium brown with strong, warm orange undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was fantastic, while the eyeshadow felt smooth, silky, and remained blendable without losing its intensity on the lid. It lasted for eight hours on me.

Noche
Noche is a deep, reddish brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly to bare skin. The texture was soft, slightly powdery, and blendable. I felt like that slight powderiness helped it stay blendable and made it more versatile as I could easily use it in lighter layers or more heavily for more intense color. This shade stayed on well for eight hours.

I received this a fewhile days ago. This was my first experience with colour pop pressed shadows. I am blown away! KVD has always had my favorite matte shadows. These are so similar in pigment, blendability, and staying power. Finally something that compares! I will probably buy a backup as this is a perfect daily palette.
Wow — that says a lot that you love it enough to get a backup! 🙂
I’m glad that they’ve worked on their formula! I haven’t yet bought any eyeshadows from them, but I do see myself doing so in the future. Just waiting on them to add some duochromes/holographics to their range since that’s what I’m craving these days.
Here’s hoping that they add those types of shades!
Ooh! This is a nice one! And looks very handy for travel or on the fly eye looks. Convenient!
I bought this palette specifically for Vivacious, but it turned out to be my least favorite of the 4 shadows. i found it to be gritty to apply (ended up applying with my finger) ans had glittery fallout all over my face. I love other colourpop metallic pressed eyeshadows, so I was disappointed with this one. However, the other three mattes are FANTASTIC!
A gorgeous set of shades that are so co-ordinated. Very pretty.
Omg! I’m loving these two releases! Beautiful shades and I think they’ll be great even on this ghost as you suggested Christine. Awww! I do hope they are less powdery than the super schock just wore one today and never have to worry about placing glitter on my tear duct it does it by itself just a bit. Lol! Courpop has some lovely, lovely shades. I want them all but my bank account firmly disagrees. 🙂
Yes. A product made in the USA. Good price and of good quality. Can’t even get a product like that coming out of a high end brand or a brand which alludes to being high end. Thank goodness there are still products made in the USA.
Distressed is beautiful!
Great review as always! I’m impressed with your swatches. It looked like something I would pass easily but I’m considering it after your review!
Thank you, Mandy!
