Coloured Raine Cheers to the Beauty Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Cheers to the Beauty
Coloured Raine Cheers to the Beauty Eyeshadow Palette ($50.00 for 0.71 oz.) is a large palette that contains 12 eyeshadows and one highlighter. Almost every shade had rich color payoff, while most were blendable and easy to use with good wear (without primer). I think the palette worked best when I incorporated some softer, lighter and more mid-tone shades, particularly when working with some of the cooler-toned shimmery shades in the palette, but it could definitely be used together for a cohesive look if one enjoys dramatic and more contrasting color combinations.

Boutineer
Boutineer is a soft beige with warm undertones and a matte finish. The powder felt smooth, velvety, and was blendable without being too soft or too powdery in the pan. It had opaque pigmentation that stayed on well for eight hours on me.

Formula Overview

2022 Formula: The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented" and "blendable" with a "butterly smooth" feel. The majority of the matte eyeshadows were quite pigmented, while some of the shimmers were overly emollient, which resulted in sheerer and/or uneven coverage.
The matte eyeshadows have a bit of dryness to them, though they were pigmented and fairly blendable, but they tended to apply best over an eyeshadow primer, which ensured a better base for them to adhere to. The shimmer eyeshadows were best applied with fingertips or a flat, firm (and sometimes dampened) brush and pressed/patted into place, then lightly blended.
I did not love the two finishes paired together as the matte finish was thinner and more powdery compared to the thicker, denser shimmers, so the shimmers often "erased" the matte eyeshadows when blended out.
The formula was different than the brand's original single pan formula that they originally debuted with, and I preferred their original formula overall, though the new one is decent, just not as foolproof to work with.
Original formula review: The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented, long-lasting, and blendable" and come in a variety of finishes. Most their eyeshadows are semi-opaque to opaque with a smooth, blendable textures that are easy to use and apply well to bare skin. The shimmers are slightly dense and creamier to the touch compared to the mattes, which aren't thin but don't have the same amount of slip. They tend to wear between eight and nine hours on me.

Rose
Rose is a rich, medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a metallic finish. The pigmentation was fantastic, while the eyeshadow felt smooth, cream-like, and somewhat dense but not too stiff or too thick, so it was still easy to work with (it just applied more evenly and stayed more intense on bare skin). It stayed on well for eight and a half hours on me.

Iconic
Iconic is a medium taupe-brown with warmer undertones and flecks of pink and peach sparkle over a metallic finish. It had opaque color payoff that applied evenly and smoothly to bare skin, but the texture was denser and more cream-like, so flat, synthetic brushes worked best with it. This shade started to crease on me after eight and a half hours of wear.

Diamond Jubilee
Diamond Jubilee is a bright, light pewter with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The eyeshadow had good pigmentation–just shy of full coverage–with a creamy, moderately dense texture that was a bit thicker on the lid than the average eyeshadow. It had a ton of shine, though, and it did not emphasize my lid’s natural texture. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

Opulence
Opulence is a rich, bright cobalt blue with strong, cool undertones and flecks of violet sparkle over a metallic finish. The consistency was smooth, cream-like, and dense to the point where it was a little stiffer than ideal, though it retained its intensity and opacity on bare skin. The texture made it a bit harder to blend into other shades or really get diffused edges. It lasted for eight and a half hours on me before it creased faintly.

Formula Overview
$6.99/0.064 oz. - $109.22 Per Ounce

Debonair
Debonair is a deep red with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff that was buildable to full coverage. The texture was a little drier and dustier compared to the other shades in the palette, but I found it applied and blended out better than expected based on the initial feel of the eyeshadow (though it isn’t uncommon for reds to be grainy or gritty). It wore well for eight and a half hours and stained faintly.

Debonair
LELimited Edition. $6.99.
Nightingale
Nightingale is a deep, molten gold with subtle, warm brown undertones and a metallic finish. The texture was soft, almost loosely pressed, with a denser, creamier consistency that was thicker on the lid, so while it seemed “crumbly” initially, it actually adhered exceptionally well to bare skin where a little went a long way. I found that using as much as I normally would for a color like this resulted in too much product loosening from the pan. It lasted for almost nine hours on me.

Grandeur
Grandeur is a deep, emerald green with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The pigmentation was fantastic, while the texture was smooth, creamy, and dense without being too thick or too firmly pressed in the pan. It applied beautifully and stayed on well for nine hours on me.

Grandeur
LELimited Edition. $6.99.
Black Butterfly
Black Butterfly is a deep, blackened purple with subtle, warm undertones and cooler sparkle over a metallic finish. It was intensely pigmented with a creamy, dense consistency that was a bit thick but applied evenly to my lid. I was able to blend out the edges fairly well, though I think another shade that has less shimmer and is more flesh-toned might give a better, more diffused edge than this alone. It wore well for nine hours on me before creasing faintly.

Your swatches are really pretty as is your eye look. I wouldn’t mind having this palette but I feel it’s overpriced. Still, with a good promo, I might be interested. Thanks!
anyone else wondering why they chose to name a gold eyeshadow Rose???
I think it’s “Rosé,” but that still isn’t golden lol…who knows.
Short answer: Yes Lol!
An absolutely stunning palette of gorgeous shades and I think, for the price and the ratings, it will be a winner, particularly for those who can’t afford Pat McGrath’s. I think Black Butterfly, Nightingale and Grandeur are the standout shades. You do probably need another palette to balance out the vibrant looks, but that is fine. It is so beautiful.
Gorgeous eye looks Christine.
I resisted this pallette during the holiday season, but this review might break me ?. Guess that’s why it’s called TEMPTalia after all lol. Thanks for the great review Christine!
I thought it was limited edition, but now it’s not it’s totally on my radar again. For me, I HAVE to wait for a sale because our exchanged rate is soo poor compared to the US and shipping + customs it makes a difference. 😉
If you haven’t gotten it yet, it’s on sale! 😉
Glad this scored high! Now i can buy it! Thank you!
Ohh, I have been looking forward to this review! And it doesn’t disappoint! I certainly don’t need it, but boy do I love it. It’s expensive, but with that much product and a lone B+, I wouldn’t say that it was over priced. It’s also made in the US (though I recently learned that only 10% of a product needs to be made domestically for that label to apply).
To be fair most cosmetic ingredients are sourced all over the world, so if they are formulated and pressed in the US or (Canadain as well) the country of final manufacturing think it still deserves that title.
But I also appreciate it when they list where the packing/components are made.
I definitely don’t mind if something of substance does take place. The 10% rule just has me worried that something like sticking on the label will count!
I’ll get this Beauty soon, lol. I was late getting Queen of Hearts and I really love it. This looks like a good add to my Coloured Raine collection
I’ve been tempted to buy this for what seems a long time and so far I’ve managed to resist the temptation. I do think I have similar colours even though I don’t think I have any real dupes. It is quite expensive and I like but don’t love the QoH palette, so I think I’ll just save to get a Pat McGrath or Natasha Denona palette instead.
It is a beautiful palette though and I think it will be loved by all who buy it.
This is a really pretty palette and if I wasn’t on a low-buy this year I’d definitely be checking it out. Thanks for the review!
Ditto!
This review sold me this palette. The green is stunning as well as the cobalt blue and most of the other metallic. The swatches and your 2 looks actually were the final selling points. I had decided against it the last time I bought from them. I had said as did one of the OPs that it was too expensive. Well, $50 for 12 eyeshadows and a highlighter (in a color that is flattering on me) actually breaks down to be pretty darned inexpensive. This palette is cohesive enough that I can do a one and done look. FYI: Coloured Raine also has good matte liquid lipsticks. They have a coffee themed set on sale for $30. I highly recommend it, especially if you like nude colors. There is one nice chocolate which I swoon over every time.
Magnificent looking shadows! I’m hoping that some of these will be sold as singles somewhere down the line in the not too distant future, like; Black Butterfly, Grandeur, Iconic. Might actually be more cost effective to just buy the whole palette, though. Just that with already owning the KVD MetalMatte Palette, I know how big of a PITA it is to lug that bad boy out for a look, so I’m less inclined to gravitate towards another super long behemoth.
I think this is a gorgeous palette, but so many of the shades seem close to ones in the Queen of Hearts, that I don’t think this is worth getting just for the blue, green, and silver. I’d kind of like to see those and a couple mattes in cooler colors as a 6-pan palette.
Well now, I’m not surprised at the rating, but I need this like I need another 5 pounds (of weight). Ha! Black Butterfly and Diamond Jubilee are definitely unique (okay, maybe not Diamond Jubilee, but still) for me, but I just don’t need the rest. I over did foils and duos since the holidays and need a break. If ever those are singles, yes, I’ll be on it. Or if ever I can find this palette for under 30$, then okay, I’ll get it. Otherwise, I’m holding out, strong! 😉
Here’s hoping they release some as singles!
Well, still not under 30$, but I truly don’t expect it will be. And still no singles from it yet. 🙁 Boo hoo!
It’s now on sale for $25! I’m so tempted!
Thanks and yeah, it’s on the way as of today! 😉
Such a gorgeous palette, but I think I’m going to skip and get the Pat McGrath Decadence palette instead (I know it’s much more expensive, but I’ve got $75 in Sephora gift cards so my out of pocket expense is the same). Plus, the only shade that I do not have a definite dupe for is the blue, and the chances of me wearing a cobalt blue is pretty slim. I much prefer a darker blue. I find it’s more wearable and looks better with my eye color.
This palette is not high on my wishlist just because I don’t think I’ll get much use out of these colours, but I’m so excited about this brand and where they’ll go next. I missed out on the Queen of Hearts palette and have been feeling sorry for myself ever since.
Guess what, QoH is back in stock on the CR website, I just received it. It is everything!
So glad it’s on sale! With shipping to France and your discount (thanks Christine), it came to 37$, but that’s still a savings! And since Christine rated it at A-, I figured it would add quite a few beauty shades to my collection, in particular, Black Butterfly!!!
