Clinique Poppy Pop & Passion Pop Pop Lip Colours Reviews & Swatches
Poppy Pop
Clinique Poppy Pop Pop Lip Colour + Primer Lipstick ($19.50 for 0.13 oz.) is a vivid, medium-dark coral with medium, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had very, very fine pearl that gave it a more luminous sheen but didn’t give it an overtly shimmery look. The color coverage was nearly opaque in a single layer–the shadow of my lip freckle still visible in the close-up photo–and went on evenly.
The consistency was lightweight, emollient, and creamy enough to glide easily across my lips but stayed in place over time. It could have been more smoothing as there was a bit of product that settled into my deeper lip lines, though it wasn’t apparent to my eye in person. This shade stayed on nicely for five and a half hours and was hydrating while worn.

Formula Overview
$19.50/0.13 oz. - $150.00 Per Ounce
The formula is described as having "rich color" with a "smoothing primer" that "keeps lips comfortably moisturized." Most of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque color coverage in a single layer, and the shades that were a bit weaker were somewhat buildable. The deeper shades tended to perform the best, while a few of the lighter shades settled slightly into lip lines (not too noticeable, or not at all, in person).
Some shades were more smoothing than others, so I think the "smoothing primer" claim was the weakest and wasn't always met. The texture was lightweight, lightly creamy without being heavy or too slippery, and didn't tug during application. The formula was comfortable and hydrating while worn, and they lasted between four and six hours. There didn't seem to be any scent or taste.

Passion Pop
Clinique Passion Pop Pop Lip Colour + Primer Lipstick ($19.50 for 0.13 oz.) is a bright, medium red with neutral-to-cool undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in one layer with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was lightweight and not overly emollient (just enough to apply without dragging but it never felt slippery on).
The lipstick delivered even coverage, while the formula smoothed out some of my lip lines. It wore well for seven hours and felt moisturizing over time.

As I type this:
“Thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightening” ⛈️⚡⛈️
Not kidding!
Anywho…I’m now falling down my red lipstick rabbit hole again. Passion Pop is a drop dead gorgeous red! Not too matte, nor too emollient looking, but just right. Same with its tone, not too cool, nor too warm. I’m sold!
Mellan is pretty displeased! He said he had a rough weekend and the thunder is quite rude!
I concur with Mellan; the skies were rude today! Clarissa skittered under my bed at that first big clap!
Passion Pop is a gorgeous red lippie.
These look like they’d make great stains as well! I don’t often wear bright lipsticks full on but enjoy when they are spreadable and I can use them in a similar fashion as I do my Korean lip tints. Poppy Pop Pop Lip is also fun to say.
they’re doing a great job with this collection!
Passion Pop is lovely, I’m happy to say I have dupes for it.
It seems Clinique has a winner with these lipsticks. I quite like it when get a winner, like they did withe the pop blushes as Clinique feels a bit boring, but with these I see a very good reason to visit their counters.
Poppy Pop is very pop-py! I don’t know if it is one that would look good on my skin tone, but I love how it looks and am tempted to go to the store and swatch it. I don’t have anything remotely similar and much prefer brighter neony tones to deeper ones so I’m hoping this might be a fun little switch up since I tend to go for the pinker shades these days.
