Love Pop

Clinique Love Pop Pop Lip Colour + Primer Lipstick ($19.50 for 0.13 oz.) is a darker, raspberry pink with subtle, cool undertones and a fine, pearly finish that had a light sheen to it. The color coverage was semi-opaque in one layer and buildable to mostly opaque coverage with a second layer. The texture was lightweight, emollient without being too slippery, and glided easily across my lips. For as shimmery as it was, it actually seemed to soften my lip lines rather than emphasize them (as more frosted finishes can). It wore well for five hours and was lightly moisturizing over time.

Formula Overview

$19.50/0.13 oz. - $150.00 Per Ounce

The formula is described as having "rich color" with a "smoothing primer" that "keeps lips comfortably moisturized." Most of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque color coverage in a single layer, and the shades that were a bit weaker were somewhat buildable. The deeper shades tended to perform the best, while a few of the lighter shades settled slightly into lip lines (not too noticeable, or not at all, in person).

Some shades were more smoothing than others, so I think the "smoothing primer" claim was the weakest and wasn't always met. The texture was lightweight, lightly creamy without being heavy or too slippery, and didn't tug during application. The formula was comfortable and hydrating while worn, and they lasted between four and six hours. There didn't seem to be any scent or taste.

Berry Pop

Clinique Berry Pop Pop Lip Colour + Primer Lipstick ($19.50 for 0.13 oz.) is a deep, reddened plum with subtle, cool undertones and a natural sheen. There seemed to be barely-there pearl strewn throughout, but it looked more like a cream finish from a normal viewing distance.

The consistency was lightly creamy, smooth, and had enough slip to glide easily over my lips but didn’t feel slippery while worn. It had nearly opaque color coverage that adhered evenly to my lips and didn’t emphasize my lip lines. The formula seemed to smooth out a few of my subtle lip lines, too. It stayed on nicely for six hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

LOVE Berry Pop! But of course I would. I have 2 dupes, UD Bruise and Chanel Rouge Vie, plus another dupe that looks very different from the two I own, Giorgio Armani Acajou on my WL. Guess I have a thing for reddened plums, I don’t know! 🤷‍♀️

I really like Love Pop, and some ostensibly similar colors/finishes don’t work on me, so it’s a real gem for me personally!

I love both of them.
I have no dupes, but a lot of the listed dupes on my wish list. Maybe I should get these, I am mentally right now telling myself -I need no more lipsticks!!! 🙂

I really like the way the formula sounds and the look of these on the lips. I wonder if they have (or will have) a mini holiday set?
