Ciate x Jessica Rabbit Multi-Glow Face & Body Highlighter Review & Swatches

Jessica Rabbit
Ciate Jessica Rabbit Multi-Glow Face & Body Highlighter ($36.00 for 0.6 oz.) is a muted, medium peach-coral with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It was a surprise to see such a low-level sheen, even when buffed and worked into the skin or built up, because it was described as “the ultimate in blinding highlight.”
The texture was more firmly-pressed into the pan, so it took a moderate hand, moderately-dense brush, and some gentle jabs to dislodge product onto my brush. There was a drier, almost papery sound when initially touched and swirled with my fingertip. The powder applied evenly and blended out without difficulty, though I didn’t feel like spread that well, which I’d consider to be more critical for a body highlighter (since you’re often working with a larger area). It wore well for eight hours on before fading noticeably.

Strange as this may sound; I really love how it looks as a BLUSH. However, as a highlighter, it totally sucks! This is far too satiny to highlight much of anything. Actually nothing. As a blush though ?
Lucky me, an easy pass. I was never a Jessica Rabbit fan so wouldn’t be tempted on the basis of collection and certainly not on the basis of performance.
Same here. I always found it/her kind of offensive and I had young children at the time and wasn’t wild about that whole image (mind you, I was never a fan of Jim Carey either).
I don’t care for Jim Carey either. I honestly don’t think I have sat through anything he has performed in. I can honestly say, I just can’t waste that much of my life on someone I just don’t enjoy watching. I am not a fan of slapstick comedy, body function jokes, etc. My ex husband loves cartoons, body humor and pretty much anything that I don’t care for and while he was here it reminded me of one of the reasons I divorced him. He told a couple of body function jokes and I just looked at him and he said, “You don’t think that’s funny?” Ummmm, NO! He thinks I am too uptight! I am happy being uptight so works out okay for me.
All I can say is, I am glad they made a Jessica Rabbit compact mirror in this collection. Lol.
Not only is this not “blinding”, it’s not ever a very dimensional shade, it looks very flat – I mean, nice enough colour but just very one dimensional.
Also, something about they way they drew Jessica’s lips and mouth on this and the compact mirror makes me viscerally uncomfortable, IDEK 🙁
Disney would have provided the images to use, they wouldn’t have been allowed to draw and/or alter her, as she is a defined disney character.
It’s a very pretty shade, and for the price and the brand, it should have performed better than this.
