Charlotte Tilbury Patsy Red & Viva La Vergara Matte Revolution Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Patsy Red
Charlotte Tilbury Patsy Red Matte Revolution Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark red with subtle, cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had medium pigmentation that was buildable to semi-opaque coverage (two layers), and the formula was described as buildable, so this was as marketed. The lipstick had a smooth, velvety consistency that didn’t feel emollient but glided across my lips nonetheless. It applied evenly, didn’t emphasize my lip lines or lip texture, and was fairly comfortable to wear. The color lasted nicely for five hours, left a faint stain behind, and was non-drying.

Formula Overview
$37.00/0.12 oz. - $308.33 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "long-lasting color" that's "buildable" with "glowing pigments" that give the "illusion of wider, fuller lips." Some shades are buildable while others are fairly pigmented in one stroke. The consistency was more velvety, lightweight, and thin without being clingy or drying over time. I found that some shades were flattering on, as they didn't emphasize lip texture or get into my lip lines, while other shades gravitated into my lip lines. They wore between three and five hours and were typically non-drying. There was no discernible scent or taste.

Viva La Vergara
Charlotte Tilbury Viva La Vergara Matte Revolution Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark plum with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, though it was supposed to be buildable, which applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without dragging. The consistency was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and sat well on my lips without emphasizing any texture. It wore well for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating on me.

Is Patsy Red named for Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley on Ab-Fab)???? If so, I may just have to break down and buy it, darling! I love Patsy Stone! “She was so anally retentive that she couldn’t sit down for fear of sucking up the furniture”.
Per Charlotte Tilbury’s website, it’s actually after her mother, Patsy Tilbury!
Okay – that’s just saved me $43 (and I’m not wild about more matte leaning finishes at the best of times).
I absolutely love that it’s named after her mom! ♥
I have dupes of both of these beautiful shades, but the packaging is so tempting! Need to avert my eyes and move on.
Ah, Viva La Vergara. Why must I have such a super close dupe in MAC Retro? If not, I would HAVE to get this stunner! ?
Both of these shades are really lovely and of course, Patsy Red is my favorite. I only have like a hundred dupes. I am going to Seattle next week so hoping to see a lot of products in the stores so that I can check them out. In general, I like CT lip products. In fact, they might be the only CT products that I do like.
The Viva shade is gorgeous and I love how CT named a shade after her mum.
