Charlotte Tilbury New Year 2021 Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Sweet Blossom
Charlotte Tilbury Sweet Blossom Kissing Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark, peachy coral with strong, warm orange undertones and a lightly glossy, cream finish. It sometimes appeared a little redder depending on the lighting. The texture was creamy, moderately emollient, and glided readily across my lips but had a touch of tackiness that helped it stay in place and prevented it from sliding around while worn. It had opaque pigmentation that lasted nicely for four and a half hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$37.00/0.12 oz. - $308.33 Per Ounce
The Kissing formula is supposed to be pigmented and luminous, while also being hydrating. It has a creamier, lightweight consistency that's comfortable to wear and to apply with a moderately hydrating formula to back it. I find that some of the creamier shades can sit in my lip lines a bit, but it really depends on the shade on how noticeable it is in person. The wear ranges from three to five hours (reds and the like). There's a faint, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Lucky Cherry
Charlotte Tilbury Lucky Cherry Matte Revolution Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a brighter, medium red with warmer, more orange undertones and a semi-matte finish–I’d call it more of a “soft matte.” The texture was thin, firmer/denser in the tube though not stiff to apply, so it still had light glide as I pulled it across my lips. It had mostly opaque color coverage that went on evenly, didn’t emphasize my lip texture or settle into my lip lines, and lasted for four and a half hours. The formula felt neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$37.00/0.12 oz. - $308.33 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "long-lasting color" that's "buildable" with "glowing pigments" that give the "illusion of wider, fuller lips." Some shades are buildable while others are fairly pigmented in one stroke. The consistency was more velvety, lightweight, and thin without being clingy or drying over time. I found that some shades were flattering on, as they didn't emphasize lip texture or get into my lip lines, while other shades gravitated into my lip lines. They wore between three and five hours and were typically non-drying. There was no discernible scent or taste.

Rose Wish
Charlotte Tilbury Rose Wish Matte Revolution Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep, reddish-copper with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had rich color coverage in a single layer, which adhered evenly and applied smoothly across my lips without dragging. The texture was lightweight, thin but not clingy, and more velvety without feeling traditionally creamy or emollient. It wore well for five hours and felt neither drying nor hydrating over time.

All three of these look marvelous. I’m so not a fan of CT, but admit she can do a lipstick.
I’m intrigued by Sweet Blossom. It’s a smokier coral; beautifully pared back and therefore appeals to me in an area where I am usually a strong pass.
Sweet Blossom and Rose Wish are delightful looking! I have zero dupes for Sweet Blossom, and I’m pretty sure that the same goes for Rose Wish. Since I’d only get one, I’m leaning towards Rose Wish. It’s just more unique to my stash.
I guess I don’t need Rose Wish: 5 dupes, not including the Armani I always covet, one thrown out. Think I know what like, lol. OK, Ms Genevieve, surely you’re overduped as well. As to CT: only have 2 products, one a l/s. Not fond of either. That’s why there are so many brands and formulas, of course.
I do have a few dupes of Rose Wish, as you have predicted kjh – but I am trying to get my hot little hands on some of the Sephora ones – Girl Gang, Auburn and Autumn Blaze. Our Sephora store here in Melbourne doesn’t stock the newer lipsticks from their own brand. Darn it!
Sigh – not a single one for cool undertones.
I just love Rose Wish – my kind of shade and Sweet Blossom is gorgeous too.
I’ve been trying to get my hands on the Sweet Blossom, like everyone else, I guess, but it seems to be sold out. Mostly I want it for the packaging. I have been on a huge lipstick buying spree lately, and that would fit right in.
All three shades look beautiful though only Rose Wish would be unique to what I own. I’m not a fan of CT’s matte revolution formula, though. 🙃
