According to Chanel, the Soft Touch Eyeshadow formula can be used “dry for subtle shading” or “damped for more intense colour.” You know me, see a blue eyeshadow from a high-end brand and I just have to see if one of them will actually do it justice. It’s not winning any best-blue-eyeshadow-awards, as it could use improvement. Ultimately, the texture lacks that finely-milled, silky-smooth quality that I’d expect from this price point for a single eyeshadow. Chanel’s right on the money: it’s semi-sheer applied dry and tends to look uneven and a little patchy, as it is dry and the shimmer feels loose against the powder base, and damp application is semi-opaque and binds together better but tends to fade noticeably once it dries down. The color lasted seven hours on me before creasing, but I had fall out if I used it damp (dry didn’t have as many sparkles actually translate onto the lid).

Even though these types of blue always tend to look horrid on me, with the exception of eyeliner, I feel so pained for those who can rock cobalt and electric blues, because this one isn’t any good. Especially at Chanel’s price point! ?

I swatched this in store, and it did feel kind of dry, not the worst blue shadow , but not the best either, and can’t justify $30 price. Colour Pop Kimono is listed as a dupe, but from looking at online swatches, I think Colour Pop Etiquette might be closer in color, and Etiquette got an A

Lol. I feel that Chanel has been really disappointing lately (if the last 2 years can be considered lately) but I had to have this eyeshadow when I saw it. I agree with everything you said about its application and payoff but I got it even after playing with it and knowing its shortcomings. What I really bought this for was to layer over black eyeliner with, which makes the blue sparkles really pop. Of course, this limits the usefulness of the eyeshadow and while I really like (subtle-ish) accent makeup, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Which is a shame really, since it’s so beautiful in the pan.

Hey, if you like it for why you bought it, it’s all good. I think of reviews as more about trying to set expectations, let people know the pros/cons, because as long as you are happy with what you bought, then I’m a happy camper 😀

It is a gorgeous shade when you start using it damp, and with a glitter adhesive, it could really pop!

I wish this review came out before i got it!
I feel like the eyeshadow is okay but not mind-blowing.

In the pan it looks stunning but on it looks a little plan and even boring compared to the pan and ad.
Im scared to use it wet because i know that usually makes eyeshadows turn hard over time and for the price i don’t want to damage it.

This is my first Chanel eyeshadow too so I have to say i feel a little disappointed …
Still debating if I should keep it or return it
