Chanel Quiet Revolution (312) Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Quiet Revolution (312)
Chanel Quiet Revolution (312) Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($61.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new, permanent smoky color combination featuring a cool mauve, deep blue-teal, bright blue, and cooler taupe/neutral gray. I found that using the shades together resulted in a rather muddy look, and I had some trouble applying the deeper taupe shade over other shades as it caused the others to lift and resulted in a patchy appearance.

Quiet Revolution (312)
PPermanent. $70.00.
Quiet Revolution #1
Quiet Revolution #1 is a light-medium mauve with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had good color coverage that was buildable to opaque pigmentation with less than half of a layer. The consistency was velvety and smooth to the touch without being powdery. The eyeshadow remained blendable and adhered well to bare skin for seven and a half hours of wear.

Quiet Revolution #2
Quiet Revolution #2 is a deep, blue-leaning teal with cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had good pigmentation, but I noticed that it tended to darken and look more muted (less blue/teal) after a few minutes on my lid. The texture was dense without being stiff or hard to work with, but it could have been somewhat more blendable than it was. This shade stayed on well for eight hours but did not stain my lid.

Quiet Revolution #3
Quiet Revolution #3 is a bright, medium blue with cool undertones and a matte finish. I’d actually say it was more like a natural matte finish, as it did not appear totally flat and let my skin’s natural finish come through a bit. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, velvety texture that wasn’t powdery at all but wasn’t so dense that it was difficult to blend. The disappointing part about this shade was that it seemed to darken and lose some of its vibrancy a few minutes after it was applied, even over primer. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably after that.

Quiet Revolution #4
Quiet Revolution #4 is a deep taupe with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage with a denser, slightly stiff consistency, though it wasn’t as difficult to blend out as I expected based on the texture alone. The problem I had with it was that it caused other shades to lift a bit and create patchiness, so it needed to be applied first rather than last. The color started to show signs of fading after seven and a half hours of wear.

A strange color combo to release in the middle of summer, and the quality’s not impressive enough to justify the price
This is part of their fall collection.
Hi Katherine, I suspect it was released on Chanel’s website to coincide with their fall/winter fashion show. The official release is in August. ? It seems this year that Chanel is releasing multiple collections within a short timeframe. I feel as though I’m not always enjoying the collection I have before a new collection is released.
Oh I see, then that makes sense! It’s kind of like Christmas in July
I’m surprised, given your comments, that this scored as well as it did – I was expecting maybe a C. What I like about the Chanel quads I do own is that they’re all usable as “stand alone” quads (even if I may choose to add other shadows) but this one is absolutely not. It’s a strange, murky and not very nice pairing of colours.
This isn’t a quad that I would normally purchase although I do love Chanel quads. However, there is something about it that is pulling me in. I think it is the “smoky” daytime look. Not so over the top that it would look funny while out in the daytime but gives off that smoky vibe. I am going to have to check this out. I don’t have a Chanel counter anywhere near me but do have two trips to Seattle planned for late July and August. Thanks for the review, Christine.
I’m loving the mauve and the more teal/marine blue. It’s tempting.
This quad does not impress me at all. The very bizarre, unseemly shade pairing alone is a huge turnoff for me, personally. And then there’s the weaker quality at this price point. Just, no.
I’m curious about this palette though will wait to try it on at a counter. I like the pairing of mauve and a bright blue.
I don’t really like the colour combination of this quad at all, the colours are muted and it would result in a fairly muddy looking, dare I say murky look? on the eyes. Having two blues with a grey is a mistake – one blue would have been sufficient, with either a gold or copper to lift the quad.
The grey/black shade is a disaster – very patchy and poorly done. Not one of their stellar efforts.
The performance issues are unfortunate, because this is an interesting color combination!
It looks a strange color pairing, but I think, maybe, we will see it more often in the future from other brands also. I remember the day we saw the first red eyeshadow and now is everywhere.
This strikes me as an odd combo, at least in trying to incorporate all the shades. The brighter blue seems a tad jarring. Think i’ll try a variation of your look with dupes. Suspect that this would muddy up on me w/blending. Deep set eyes seem to make all colors look darker than they really are. Hooded eyes are likely quite similar in that manner. Invites play, though, as my dupes for #1 and #2 are frequent flyers, though not in the same look. Def encourages experimentation. The muted look you did is quite excellent.
That MJ liner saved the look. (I initially thought it was the new UD Overdrive liner! I adore that one too.) I barely even glance at the rest of it because the green-y blue is so pretty.
