Elegance (370)

Chanel Elegance (370) Joues Contraste Blush ($45.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a soft, medium-dark brown with warm, orange undertones and a satin sheen. The formula is supposed to be “soft” and “silky” with a radiant finish. Elegance had good color payoff–not quite opaque but definitely buildable to opaque coverage in two layers–with a soft, silky texture that didn’t kick up much excess powder in the pan. The blush blended out beautifully on the skin and gave it a natural sheen that did not look shimmery, just glowy. On me, it wore well for just over eight hours before fading.

Formula Overview

$45.00/0.17 oz. - $264.71 Per Ounce

The Joues Contraste formula is supposed to have “buildable coverage, from natural to dramatic” with a “flattering radiance” and “silky texture.” The pigmentation ranges from semi-sheer to fully opaque, depending on technique and skin tone, but it seemed exactly as described–buildable–without having to pile it on or spend too long sheering it out. The formula has an extremely smooth, silky consistency that blends out beautifully on the skin. Most shades wear around eight hours on me.

The formula is rose-scented but the scent was largely undetectable applied (but noticeable in the compact).

This is a beautiful one also. I am enjoying seeing all of these beautiful blushes from Chanel. I think this one would probably pull a little to orange/dark on my pale skin but it is worth checking out when I go to the city. It looks amazing on you Christine.

I like this. Will have to think about it though, since it’s LE; I tend to not change out blushes often, and if I fall in love with this, I’ll be sad when it is discontinued.

Hello Christine,
Thank you for your review. I went to get this blush today, and the ingredient list is completely different. My blush has mineral oil and your list is definitely more abbreviated. I was hoping you can divulge the origins of your purchase, because I really want your version.

Many thanks in advance.
Maria

I’d love to see the blush worn both in the style you do which is heavier to show the color but also in a more natural way as most people wouldn’t apply this much product. It’s kind of hard to picture what it would look like for everyday wear. I really like the swatches so I’m going to give this one a try.
