Chanel Blurry Blue (324) Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Blurry Blue (324)
Chanel Blurry Blue (324) Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($62.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new, permanent (or so it seems, as it is not listed as limited edition on the brand’s website) featuring a smokier set of shades–two taupes, a deep (but faded) blue, and mid-depth gray. For me, I could see this as an anchor palette–one that will complement a lot of other palettes (particularly your lighter or more shimmery palettes)–but runs together a lot on its own. The pigmentation, blendability, and ease of use was good across the board, though.

Blurry Blue (324)
PPermanent. $70.00.
Blurry Blue #1
Blurry Blue #1 is a muted, medium taupe with neutral undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage with a soft, silky texture that wasn’t too softly nor too firmly pressed in the pan. The eyeshadow applied well to bare skin and blended out easily. It stayed on well for seven and a half hours on me before fading.

Blurry Blue #2 is a medium-dark gray with neutral undertones and a mostly matte finish. The color payoff was opaque in one layer, while the consistency was smooth, silky, and blendable without being powdery. It applied well and lasted nicely for eight hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Blurry Blue #3
Blurry Blue #3 is a deep, faded blue-teal with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was fantastic, while the texture felt smooth and silky to the touch without being powdery (nor was it too firmly pressed in the pan). The eyeshadow blended out fairly well, but it seemed to darken a bit unevenly in places (I’d recommend using a primer with it). It wore well for eight hours on me before it started to wear down.

Wow, this could make an interesting smoky eye!
Yes, I totally agree with you, Katherine T! This really could be the one!
I love this quad. I love that it is a neutral, everyday basic kind of a palette. This will likely be my only Chanel purchase this year which is kind of weird because I usually purchase quite a lot of Chanel. I love that it has reviewed so well. I hope it marks a comeback for the brand as there is something so iconic and wonderful about Chanel and I have felt them slipping over the years. I know this is just one release but I do hope it marks an upsurge for the brand. I don’t want a lot of changed packaging though, because the iconic black and white intertwined C’s is perfect.
Great replacement for UD Naked Smoky if I ever destash it! Although, if I did, I would have to depot the good shades out of it. Or, I could use this to amp that one up a bit!
Heehee, “featuring Chanel and Colourpop” is a wonderfully democratic phrase. 🙂
This is all a bit too “murky” for me as a “stand alone” quad so I’ll content myself with dupes I already own (since using this would necessitate me reaching for other shadows in any case).
Yes, I agree Mariella – I would find it a bit muddy looking as well.
On my skin tone, this would all turn to mud. Somewhat cool-toned, darkish mud. I see the “Blurry” more than the “Blue.”
It’s beautiful and only the teal is duped in my collection. Unfortunately, the gray looks really green-leaning on my monitor (regardless of whose pictures), so I’m sad to find out that’s just my monitor. Without more a blue or green tint to the gray, I’m afraid this will just go muddy on my fair skin.
Good point about the gray. I don’t have dupes for it for a reason. This shades makes the overall quad less desirable for me, which is a good thing.
This is a really cool toned quad featuring smoky shades. I think the colour combinations are cohesive and could well be used with other palettes. Personally I find the shades a bit too dark for me, but I think it is lovely.
This is wonderful. I love the color story. I can’t wear it, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to love it on someone else. This is ‘everyday couture’, which is really an oxymoron, and a feat unto itself. Beautiful! Just beautiful. PS: Chanel got the memo regarding great mattes.
Definitely my favourite of the new quads, but not sure I need to step up to the plate for this snack bracket. I need to consider dupes, which I haven’t looked at yet. But I do like the smokiness of this one.
These are beautiful! But they do run together like you say.
Such an intriguing palette. I’m ready for cooler tones and swooning over the grey shade. The palette is too dark for my preferences, unfortunately, but it’s a solid one for Chanel to have in its regular line.
Unbelievable. Are they literally *trying* to make two colors nearly identical in all these quads? Was the one where it had four very distinct colors a mistake?
The more I look at this, the more it confuses me. The colors seem more distinct in the photo of the packaged products, but less so in the swatches. Maybe I just need to see them swatched in a row? Regardless, I’m not interested in getting it even if the colors had all been very distinct, but I do appreciate the color story.
