Urban Decay Sin Afterglow Highlighter

Urban Decay Sin Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter
Urban Decay Sin Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter

Urban Decay Sin Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter ($26.00 for 0.23 oz.) is described as a “champagne.” It’s a light, golden beige with warm undertones and a frosted, lightly metallic finish. Urban Decay Sesso (Highlighter) (P, ) is less shimmery, cooler (95% similar). MAC Tutu (LE, $33.00) is lighter (95% similar). Urban Decay Nooner (Highlighter) (P, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). Tarte Skylight (LE, ) is lighter (95% similar). Colour Pop Lunch Money (P, $8.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Urban Decay Craze (-, ) is less shimmery (90% similar). LORAC Starlight (P, $23.00) is less shimmery, lighter (95% similar). Dior Precious Rocks (001) (LE, $57.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). NYX Moonbeam (P, $6.99) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Estee Lauder Courreges (LE, $32.00) is darker (90% similar). Anastasia Moonstone (LE, ) is darker (90% similar). NARS Rivage (LE, ) is less shimmery, lighter, cooler (85% similar). NARS Watch Me (LE, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (85% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

The new Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter formula is supposed to be “finely-milled” with “sheer,” buildable payoff that “blends in easily” and eight-hour wear. This was the most pigmented–more semi-opaque to opaque–shade in the range and most shimmery. I found that the texture could emphasize pores depending on application style/coverage, so it’s not as foolproof as the other shades. I recommend using a lighter touch and a buffing brush to get the best finish out of the product. It is also significantly different in color to Sin eyeshadow, which is more pink-based (I compared to a split-pan I have of Sin as well as one in the Naked palette). The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable, while the highlighter wore for eight hours on me before fading.

Urban Decay Fireball Afterglow Highlighter

Urban Decay Fireball Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter
Urban Decay Fireball Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter

Urban Decay Fireball Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter ($26.00 for 0.23 oz.) is described as a “peach with pink shift.” It’s a muted, medium peachy-orange with strong yellow tones paired with a pearly shimmer that shifts from cooler pink to warmer, pinky-copper. Urban Decay Twilight (LE, ) is less shimmery, darker, more muted (90% similar). Anastasia Hard Candy (LE, ) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Urban Decay OC (LE, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Fireball (P, $19.00) is more shimmery, darker, more pigmented (90% similar). Dose of Colors Melonade (P, $28.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Paradise Lust (Top) (LE, ) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (85% similar). Kevyn Aucoin Starlight (P, $44.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). Huda Beauty Ibiza (LE, ) is darker, warmer (80% similar). NYX Rose Gold (P, $6.50) is darker, warmer (80% similar). Huda Beauty Zanzibar (LE, ) is darker, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

The new Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter formula is supposed to be “finely-milled” with “sheer,” buildable payoff that “blends in easily” and eight-hour wear. It had sheer to semi-opaque coverage with a smooth, finely-milled texture that was blendable on the skin. It seemed to have a low-level sheen than an overtly shimmery finish applied; it was the least shimmery of the three shades in the highlighter range released for summer. On me, the color wore well for eight hours before fading. I would consider this to be more of a highlighting blush on several skin tones. It is a sheerer, less dense, and slightly less shimmery take on the same Fireball eyeshadow–their colors are similar, but the texture and payoff make the blush look much more subdued. If you already own the eyeshadow, you might consider trying out the color as a blush to see if it’s something you’d use often; assuming you don’t mind a softer, sheerer version for a blush, the blush is a better value if you use it as such ($113/oz. vs. $380/oz.)

The new Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter formula is supposed to be “finely-milled” with “sheer,” buildable payoff that “blends in easily” and eight-hour wear. It had semi-sheer, buildable coverage that didn’t emphasize the skin’s natural texture, even when more heavily applied, so it is pretty easy to use and doesn’t require a light hand or any finagling to get it to look just right. The texture was soft, smooth, and lightly dusty–a looser press than the blushes, I would say–but a cinch to blend out on the skin. It wore for eight hours exactly on me, as described. I’m so thrilled that there’s a reasonably priced, permanent, cooler-pink highlighter on the market!

Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter, $26.00 (New, Permanent)

Afterglow Highlighter goes on sheer and blends easily. Use a little or a lot; our wearable formula always applies beautifully, no matter how much you build it (and never leaves just a powdery dusting of shimmer). Available in a range of shades suitable for any skin tone, Afterglow creates a glowy, strobed effect that lasts all day (even if you’re crashing at your desk by 3pm).

  • Sin Champagne
  • Fireball Peach with pink shift

Dust this silky powder on your face or all over your whole bod—and look like you spent a week hanging out on the sunny beaches of Fiji (rather than in a drab, windowless office). Our finely milled, super-soft formula applies smoothly, doesn’t streak, and creates a radiant glow that won’t quit. Get Beached (not burned); these universally flattering matte shades provide sheer, natural-looking coverage every time.

Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl, Frenemy, Snitch, Shadowheart Revolution Lipglosses

Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl Revolution High-Color Lipgloss
Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl Revolution High-Color Lipgloss

Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “soft nude with gold shimmer.” It’s a muted, light-medium rosy beige with a hint of gold sparkle. It had semi-sheer color payoff that applied unevenly and with visible streaks. The color settled into lip lines immediately, and this only worsened as the color wore on. This shade only lasted for three hours on me. MAC Fashion Whim (LE, $20.00) is cooler (95% similar). MAC Kind Kiss (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). MAC Keep It Light (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Sephora Cappuccino (02) (P, $12.00) is darker, more muted, warmer (90% similar). NARS Instant Crash (LE, $26.00) is warmer (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (L.S.D.) (LE, $22.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Lancome Mirrored Nude (09) (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, darker (85% similar). MAC Spanking Haute (LE, $20.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Urban Decay Frenemy Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “hot pink with iridescent blue shift.” It’s a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with subtle, cool undertones and iridescent sparkle. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a lightweight consistency that applied fairly evenly and smoothly. This shade wore for four and a half hours and was moisturizing. Marc Jacobs Beauty Studded Kiss (310) (DC, $28.00) is darker (90% similar). Burberry Oxblood No. 23 (P, $29.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Big Bang (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). Cle de Peau Flushed (13) (P, $48.00) is more shimmery (85% similar). Dior Darling (775) (P, $35.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (85% similar). Estee Lauder Violet Rain (LE, $22.50) is more shimmery, darker, brighter (85% similar). MAC Prepare for Pleasure (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (80% similar). MAC Pleasant (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (80% similar). NARS Quito (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Urban Decay Snitch Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright coral.” It’s a bright, light-medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff with a creamy, smooth consistency, but this shade did appear somewhat streaky overall. The gloss lasted for four and a half hours, but I noticed some color pull into lip lines over time. The formula was hydrating while worn. NYX Napoleon (P, $5.99) is darker (90% similar). MAC Go for Girlie (LE, $20.00) is cooler (90% similar). NARS Rapture (LE, $26.00) is darker (90% similar). NARS Super Orgasm (P, $26.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Pink Lemonade (P, $17.00) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Kiss & Don't Tell (LE, $17.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Dior Tiny Pink (269) (P, $35.00) is lighter (90% similar). Maybelline Caramel Infused (065) (P, $8.99) is lighter, more muted (90% similar). Anastasia Candy Coral (-, $16.00) is darker (90% similar). Urban Decay Flushed (P, $19.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). NARS Playpen (P, $26.00) is darker, more muted, warmer (85% similar). Too Faced Peach Tease (P, $19.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). NYX Sorbet (P, $5.99) is lighter (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Urban Decay Shadowheart Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “brown with gold shimmer.” It’s a muted, dark, plummy brown with gold sparkle. It had semi-opaque coverage that went on evenly, though this one seemed to emphasize lip lines a little compared to other, smoother shades (perhaps it’s the deeper color?). The consistency was smooth, comfortable to wear, and easy to apply. This shade lasted for four and a half hours and was hydrating. MAC Hyper-Fabulous (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). NARS Asphalt Jungle (LE, $26.00) is more shimmery, lighter (85% similar). Chanel Audace (20) (LE, $34.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (85% similar). Chanel Intrigue (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar). Makeup Geek Set List (P, $15.00) is more shimmery, cooler (85% similar). Bite Beauty Oyster Pearl (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, lighter (80% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Shooting Stars (316) (DC, $28.00) is lighter, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is supposed to give “high coverage” in “one coat” with a “creamy” texture that is also hydrating. Some shades are less opaque (nowhere near one coat pigmentation!) and a few could have applied more evenly. The glosses feel creamy, almost gel-like, as they’re so smooth, initially, but all of them developed tackiness over time, which helped them to wear longer than the average gloss with a range of four to six hours of wear. The formula was hydrating for me, and it is comfortable to wear as long as tackiness isn’t a deal-breaker for you. I didn’t notice any taste, and there is a very subtle sweet, vanilla scent that I can only detect when I open the tube and have my nose right at the opening.

Urban Decay After Dark, Gash, Obsessed, Vanity Revolution Lipglosses

Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss
Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss

Urban Decay After Dark Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “medium-dark berry pink.” It’s a medium-dark, cool-toned berry with a creamy, glossy finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage with a light-medium weight texture that applied evenly and smoothly. The gloss wore well for five hours on me and was hydrating while worn. NYX Spice Cake (P, $5.99) is lighter, more muted (95% similar). MAC Long Distance Relationship (P, $24.00) is less pigmented (90% similar). MAC Rebel (P, $17.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). MAC Twirling (LE, $20.00) is more muted (90% similar). NARS La Main Bleue (P, $26.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Urban Decay Big Bang (P, $19.00) is more shimmery, more muted (85% similar). Milani Ravish Raspberry (06) (P, $5.49) is lighter (85% similar). Anastasia Tango (-, $16.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). MAC Saucy Little Thing (P, $17.00) is darker, more muted, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Urban Decay Gash Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep red with tonal shimmer.” It’s a medium-dark red with subtle, cool undertones and fine ruby red shimmer. It had nearly opaque coverage, though there was a slight translucency that allowed the natural lip color to influence the end result. The shimmer is fine and a mere dusting, so if you don’t love shimmery glosses, you may hardly notice it in this gloss. The consistency was smooth, comfortable, and applied evenly. On me, the color wore for five hours and was nicely hydrating. Smashbox Crimson Chrome (P, $24.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Chanel Triomphal (LE, $32.00) is more shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Lancome Rouge Magma (05) (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Black Ruby (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Cle de Peau Lempicka Red (18) (P, $48.00) is cooler, glossier (90% similar). Chanel Dzhari (608) (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery, lighter, less pigmented (85% similar). MAC Driven by Love (P, $19.50) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). MAC Utterly Tart (LE, $17.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (85% similar). MAC Courting Chic (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery, darker, more muted (85% similar). Revlon HD Carnelian (545) (P, $8.99) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). MAC Send Me Sailing (LE, $17.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Baby's a Vamp (P, $17.00) is cooler (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Urban Decay Obsessed Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “baby pink.” It’s a light-medium, bubblegum pink with cool, blue undertones and a creamy finish. It had good color payoff, but the gloss applied unevenly with visible streaks and the lighter color emphasized lip lines. It just didn’t look as smooth as the previously revieweed shades. It wore for four hours and was still moisturizing. Anastasia Peony (-, $16.00) is darker (95% similar). Too Faced Peach, Please! (P, $19.00) is darker, less pigmented (95% similar). MAC Berry Behaviour (LE, $17.00) is lighter (95% similar). MAC Pink Nouveau (P, $17.00) is glossier (90% similar). Jouer Regent (P, $17.00) is darker, glossier (90% similar). NARS Angelika (P, $26.00) is darker, less pigmented (85% similar). MAC Speed Up (LE, $20.00) is darker, more muted, cooler (85% similar). NARS Bait (LE, $26.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Urban Decay Lovechild (P, $19.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). NARS Californiacation (LE, $26.00) is darker (85% similar). Edward Bess First Kiss (P, $30.00) is darker, warmer, lower quality (85% similar). MAC Carousel (P, $10.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). L'Oreal Florid Pink (LE, $7.99) is darker, warmer (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Urban Decay Vanity Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “black with iridescent shimmer.” It is a medium black with fine, iridescent shimmer. It doesn’t look like a true black gloss applied, as it only had semi-sheer coverage, so the natural color of the lips comes through (which gives it more of a burgundy hue on me). The deeper color was unforgiving, as it pulled into lip lines and applied unevenly. It could have looked worse, but it could have looked a lot better, too. It’s a shade that would need a primer, lip liner, or lipstick underneath it, but it could be used to blacken any existing lip color you may have–it’s just a lot sheerer than the range markets itself as. This shade wore for four hours on me and was moisturizing while worn. MAC Dirty Dark Martini (P, $17.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). MAC Dark as Night (P, $19.50) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Make Up For Ever 502P Beetle (P, $19.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (85% similar). Make Up For Ever 503 Black (P, $19.00) is darker (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is supposed to give “high coverage” in “one coat” with a “creamy” texture that is also hydrating.
