Too Faced Cinnamon Swirl 18-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($49.00 for 0.43 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette with a mix of warmer neutrals and a hint of pink and purple pop. It does have a sweet, slightly spicy scent to it.

The quality was all over the place with some shades being quite nice to work with–pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing–but others were powdery, prone to fallout, or sheerer (even over primer), so it wasn’t consistent, which made for similarly inconsistent results. At a minimum, this would only be workable for someone who doesn’t mind fallout and uses primer (for matte shades) and fingertips (for shimmer shades).

Pumpkin Spice

Too Faced Pumpkin Spice 18-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($49.00 for 0.43 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that included six shimmer and 12 matte eyeshadows, so it ended up being more matte-heavy than I’d normally expect from the brand. I felt like most of the mattes were denser and more velvety–a bit more substantial, which resulted in better coverage and adhesion while still being blendable. The shimmers were more of a mixed bag, especially as three of the six were chunkier/sparklier textures, which had some fallout and were better applied with fingertips.

There was a sweet, vanilla scent wafting from the palette while it was opening, though I didn’t notice any scent while wearing it. I only got the “pumpkin pie” notes (e.g. spices) if I had my nose almost IN the pans themselves.

The texture was chunkier and less smooth as there was a lot of larger sparkle throughout, though the formula seemed denser and held together better than anticipated. I’d recommend applying this shade with a fingertip in order to get smoother coverage as a dry brush applied the product unevenly and resulted in decent fallout. It had nearly opaque color payoff that applied evenly to bare skin and was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer. The texture was soft, a smidgen powdery but felt more velvety and dense compared to most of the brand’s past matte eyeshadows. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Oh My Gourd is a light pink with strong, warm undertones and an intense, metallic finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which was opaque if applied with a dampened brush or a fingertip–and both of those applied the color more evenly and with less fallout compared to a dry brush. I was able to pat and press it into place with minimal fallout using a dry brush if I was careful. This shade lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Melt Cosmetics Digital Dust Blush Duos ($38.00 for 0.24 oz.) just released, though Sephora had them up briefly for sale a few days ago (so I snagged them!), which is why I have them already… There are three duos and each has a darker and lighter shade of shimmery blush. The formula should be comparable (and certainly looked and felt that way) to the brand’s Digital Dust Highlighters that I’ve reviewed in the past. It’s that gel-powder formula that is denser but smoother, more buildable in luminosity and best with a more moderate brush/hand.

Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Palette ($49.00 for 0.43 oz.) is a new, limited edition 18-pan palette featuring six shimmer shades and 12 matte shades, which made it a more matte-leaning palette. As a heads up, it is supposed to be “pumpkin pie” scented, though it was more sweet vanilla to me with the faintest hint of spice if I had my nose up to the pans.

Finally, I have two more new shades of Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro ($38.00 for 0.22 oz.) to share with you; these just came in stock for purchase, so duh, I bought them and here are swatches for you!

Too Faced Gingerbread Extra Spicy 18-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($49.00 for 0.43 oz.) is a new, limited edition eyeshadow palette that has 18 shades with a good split between mattes and shimmers. There were a few firmer, denser shimmers–almost like heavier, cream-powders–that could go on nicely with the right technique.

The mattes were more typical with the Too Faced formula, so they were soft and blendable but had some powderiness and sheered out a bit when blended out, so coverage had to be built up. I actually feel like the stiffer shimmers were the downfall of the palette; the mattes were very workable, and for someone who normally uses primer or prefers more buildable application, easy enough to work with.

The palette has a sweet, lightly spiced scent, though I didn’t notice it on my lids, just when I had the palette opened.

Vanilla Wafers is a light, warmer beige with a matte finish. It had a very soft texture but was moderately powdery, so there was some drop when applied and blended out, which can cause other tones to look faded or ashy, so I’d recommend applying this earlier on in your application (before deeper shades). It had nearly opaque pigmentation but sheered out to more medium coverage in practice. It lasted well for seven hours before fading visibly on me.

Spicy Mami is a deeper copper with strong, warm orange undertones and flecks of gold sparkle over a more satiny finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation applied dry and more opaque coverage applied with a dampened brush, though it was harder to blend when used with a dampened brush. It was very firmly pressed into the pan to the point where it felt like a stiff, cream-powder hybrid. I had to really push at and jab the surface of the eyeshadow to get product to release from it so I could pick it up and apply it to my skin. It was harder to apply the product evenly and blend it out as readily, too, though it seemed easier to blend out (at least) over primer. The color wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

It had semi-opaque pigmentation applied dry, and the texture was a bit drier and more loosely-pressed, so I wanted to see if it improved with a dampened brush, which it did but not as much as I expected. The dampened brush helped the product apply more evenly and brought out the metallic finish, but I was able to apply it dry and build it up with minimal fallout. Hot Tamale is a muted, medium berry red with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied fairly evenly but took more effort to diffuse and soften, especially along the edge,compared to most of the mattes in the palette. The eyeshadow had a slightly drier, dustier texture, though it only had a touch of fallout during application. It lasted well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Cinna-moan is a muted, darker copper with warm, rusty red undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft, a smidgen dusty in the pan, but it blended out well on bare skin with slight sheering out as it did so. I had no trouble building the color back up, though. It wore well for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Midnight Snack is a medium-dark black base with flecks of cooler, blue-teal shimmer and micro-sparkle on top. The texture was incredibly firm and stiff to work with, which gave it a drier, draggier edge that was difficult to diffuse and blend out. If I cheated the edge and used something else to diffuse and blend it out, then it was workable. I had to jam and jab my brush at the surface to get product to come off of the pan’s surface. Once on, it stayed on nicely for seven and a half hours before fading a bit.

Too Faced Gingerbread Extra Spicy Palette ($49.00 for 0.43 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette that’s a follow-up to last year’s Gingerbread Spice palette. After seeing it person, I’m not sure that it really seems “extra spicy” to me (I was expecting something a little darker, I suppose!), but I look forward to trying it out on my eyes and such to see how it performs.
