Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick

Bite Beauty Spritzer Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “plum rose.” It’s a muted, medium-dark lavender purple with cooler undertones and a satin finish. Bite Beauty Gin Fizz Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as an “orchid pink.” It’s a bright, light-medium cotton candy pink with cool, blue undertones and a satin sheen. I was able to get four and a half hours of wear, and it was neither hydrating nor drying on me. Bite Beauty Cotton Candy (DC, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier (95% similar). It had mostly opaque color payoff with a lightly creamy consistency that applied without dragging or tugging on the lips and had enough slip that it made lips appear smoother and plumper. On me, this shade well for six and a half hours, left a stain behind, and was lightly hydrating. MAC Invite Intrigue (LE, $19.00) is less glossy (95% similar). Bite Beauty Eggplant Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “smokey plum.” It’s a subdued, medium-dark plum with cool undertones and a satin finish. Formula Overview

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is supposed to have “bold, creamy color” with “extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear.” The majority of the range is very pigmented–typically opaque with one pass–with a few shades being semi-opaque but usually buildable. All 34 shades are shimmer-free and vary being a soft satin finish to a natural finish (light shine but not glossy). The consistency is very lightly creamy to lightly creamy with some shades requiring light-medium pressure and can pull the lip a bit when gliding it across the lips, though the color doesn’t appear ragged and the bullet itself doesn’t feel stiff (while other shades applied without tugging, so check individual shade reviews!) The majority of the shades I’ve tested have been lightly hydrating to non-drying and fairly comfortable to wear for the long-haul. They wear longer than average, from four to eight hours, depending on the intensity and propensity of the shade to stain.

In comparison to the Luminous Creme formula: The level of color payoff and lemony scent are the two things that are similar, but they feel quite different on. If you have drier lips and need the intense hydration that the Luminous Creme formula offered, I don’t know if you’re going to like these. The Luminous Creme formula had a thicker consistency with a very creamy texture that glided on and never tugged at all, and the thicker consistency paired with the glossier finish was more forgiving on lips as it didn’t emphasize lines, natural texture, dryness, or flaking. Some had issues with the Luminous Creme formula bleeding/feathering and shorter-wear due to the amount of slip (high), and the Amuse Bouche formula has much, much less slip, so the wear is longer. I didn’t typically experience bleeding/feathering with the Luminous Creme formula, and that is also true with Amuse Bouche, but I would expect less with this more satin-finish formula for most (but not all). The scent seemed slightly stronger in the Amuse Bouche range, but it wasn’t noticeable after I was done applying the color.

Eggplant!!! I already have Barberry, one of my fave all time colors, but will swatch Eggplant in store and see if there’s enough difference to buy. Love my purples 🙂 Is Dragonfruit the same one that came out as last year as a LE Lip Lab of the Month lipstick?

Katherine T. Avatar

Oh got it! Sorry didn’t see it, that’s what happens when in the morning, when I don’t have my caffeine first. The color does look different, interesting

Katherine T. Avatar

No we aren’t losing our minds! I googled it, and Dragonfruit was Shade 004 (April), but it was a bright berry, definitely very different than the Dragonfruit here in Amuse Bouche, which is a bright fuchsia pink. Kind of weird they kept the same name, but changed the color so much ! Hope customers don’t get confused

I did get one of these in Radish, which is a bright, bold magenta. I get tons of compliments when I wear it. I prefer the old formula to the new ones though. They were more moisturizing and the scent wasn’t as strong. I wear Fresh’s Fresh Sugar as my summertime scent and these smell almost the same, so it’s like putting perfume on my lips and the scent hangs out for a while. Neither of these issues are deal breakers though. The colors are fun and last a long time, so I’ll probably get more. Eggplant looks promising.

Yes, I just ordered the the new Tarte foundation Christina reviewed because I’m luck enough to be able to choose my color based off of her’s. There is a 100 point perk of a mini in this formula on Sephora.com. When I clicked on it, it seems like Sour Cherry! So, it’s a good one too! 🙂

Hey Nicole: I just pulled up the email and the promo definitely states Radish as the shade, but when I go to my rewards and pop in basket, the colour code on the item indeed matches sour cherry. Still a good choice 🙂

Lucky you with matching Christine. I’m struggling with foundation colour these days.. it’s that time of year where I am at my lightest and nothing seems to be working properly.

Nicole Avatar

Thanks for clearing that up Wendy! I probably have the email in my mess of emails!() I’m just now getting through the emails for the day!) Radish is such a pretty color ! Bummer! But, I did have Sour Cherry on my list to try on as well. Either way, I’m happy to get one because I yet to buy one. So, this is a good way for me (and people like me to get a feel for the formula.

Love Eggplant. Just looking at the bullet I thought it was a little dark and purple for me, but thinking twice after seeing it swatched!

I’m not sure how I missed that Sephora email. I stumbled on the 100 pt offer tonight when ordering Rainforest of the Sea eye palette. (Totally caved on that one – liked it online, liked it even more after Christine’s review, and loved it when my friend brought hers into work today for show & tell.)

Anyhow, Radish is a color I was hoping to test if I can make it to a store, so I’m kinda hoping the perk is that color.

Nicole Avatar

Bonnie, I Love, Love,Love the Tarte palette also! It’s gorgeous. Way under -priced and just beautiful! I actually love the round design with the huge mirror!

Aj Avatar

I didn’t think I’d need Eggplant, but after looking through my collection I don’t have anything like it! Yay!
I do like that it’s similar to Barberry – which I unfortunately didn’t get last year, slipped right out of my mind.

Nicole Avatar

My wishlist for these is growing super long! I love Eggplant for sure. Spritz is one of those cool shades I want to wear. but, will need to try. Dragonfruit looks like something I have and maybe too bright..I’ll need to try on too. 🙂

Yaassss yey! Been waiting for your full review of Gin Fizz & Spritzer 🙂 They’re both so beautiful, my kind of shades, really love them. Thanks Christine, you really helped me decide.
