Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick
Bite Beauty Sorbet Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “juicy watermelon.” It’s a brighter, light-medium pink with warm, yellow undertones and a satiny sheen. It had great color payoff with a lightly creamy, smooth consistency that applied well and went on evenly without tugging on the lips. The color lasted for four and a half hours and was moderately hydrating while worn. Urban Decay Criminal (DC, $18.00) is lighter, more muted (95% similar). Bite Beauty Gingersnap Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “fresh peach.” It’s a light-medium, peachy-coral with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation with a light-medium thick consistency that was firm so it tugged a bit but there was enough give to the formula that it still yielded really even coverage–it just takes a little more pressure to apply (reminds me of applying a lipstick that’s been sitting in the cold in that way). It wore well for four and a half hours and was just a bit hydrating all in all. Tom Ford Beauty Misbehaved (49) (P, $57.00) is darker (95% similar). Bite Beauty Fig Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “nude rose.” It’s a light-medium, rosy pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had mostly opaque coverage that went on fairly evenly. The consistency was a little thinner and clingier compared to some of the other shades, and I noticed some of the color slipped into lip lines after two to three hours of wear. It wore for four hours in total and was lightly hydrating. Jaclyn Cosmetics Isla (DC, $18.00) is less shimmery, lighter, cooler (85% similar). MAC Only You (LE, $19.00) is warmer (90% similar). Formula Overview
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is supposed to have “bold, creamy color” with “extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear.” The majority of the range is very pigmented–typically opaque with one pass–with a few shades being semi-opaque but usually buildable. All 34 shades are shimmer-free and vary being a soft satin finish to a natural finish (light shine but not glossy). The consistency is very lightly creamy to lightly creamyu with some shades requiring light-medium pressure and can pull the lip a bit when gliding it across the lips, though the color doesn’t appear ragged and the bullet itself doesn’t feel stiff (while other shades applied without tugging, so check individual shade reviews!) The majority of the shades I’ve tested have been lightly hydrating to non-drying and fairly comfortable to wear for the long-haul. They wear longer than average, from four to eight hours, depending on the intensity and propensity of the shade to stain.
In comparison to the Luminous Creme formula: The level of color payoff and lemony scent are the two things that are similar, but they feel quite different on. If you have drier lips and need the intense hydration that the Luminous Creme formula offered, I don’t know if you’re going to like these. The Luminous Creme formula had a thicker consistency with a very creamy texture that glided on and never tugged at all, and the thicker consistency paired with the glossier finish was more forgiving on lips as it didn’t emphasize lines, natural texture, dryness, or flaking. Some had issues with the Luminous Creme formula bleeding/feathering and shorter-wear due to the amount of slip (high), and the Amuse Bouche formula has much, much less slip, so the wear is longer. I didn’t typically experience bleeding/feathering with the Luminous Creme formula, and that is also true with Amuse Bouche, but I would expect less with this more satin-finish formula for most (but not all). The scent seemed slightly stronger in the Amuse Bouche range, but it wasn’t noticeable after I was done applying the color.

These are not quite my colors (either a bit too light or a bit too warm), but they are very pretty! And nice for spring 🙂 the temperature is supposed to get up into the 70s here today — usually March is pretty darn cold and damp here — I shall get out and enjoy the sunshine — now to dig out my spring/summer lipsticks…
Enjoy the warmer day, Fran!
Love Gingersnap! What a great shade! I really didn’t like Fig in the LC formula too much and wound up returning it. the shade is pretty. But, I kinda felt like it wasn’t thick enough. I also, like Sorbet in this group. Def. needing those for Spring!
What shades are you planning to get so far, Nicole?
This range of warm pink, peach, light coral is always so pretty and feminine and fresh looking, but they are definitely not my best shades; always seem to look amazeballs on others, but fall completely flat on me 🙁
What’s the closest you get to a flattering pink/peach/light coral, Wendy?
Bobbi Brown (new formula) Pink Cloud..but yeah.. it’s a bit of a cheat in the pink department because it definitely has a hint of mauve to it. All of my lipsticks I have in my grab and go stash in the casual feminine zone are lavender or mauve based.. Another good example is TF Malik which you were wearing the other day in one of your posts..it is totally fab, Bobbi Brown in Pale Mauve, TF in Vladimir,.. these all work really well with me. But I’m thinking the biggest reason they work: they walk that border between warm and cool.
Hey, just thought I would also add I received the Tarte rainforest foundation and I go through this whole trying a foundation with a variety of bases and application techniques, but so far.. I very much like it. I ended up buying the same shade you were wearing in your post and it runs a touch darker than my skin, but most importantly the base is good for me so the shade difference does not look significant. It’s pretty damn good. I, converse to you, wear a lighter powder to set so it ends up working out well . I actually do not even need powder to set this foundation. It has a lovely finish and looks very natural. Thanks so much for the review. It’s such a relief to have purchased a foundation which isn’t completely off for my skintone ( I don’t look ashy washed out, peachy faced disconnect, and nor do I look YELLOW) . I just wasn’t having any luck. I also have the new GA Maestro in shade #4. It is also a good shade choice for me and while it looks so different wet, it actually dries down very similar to the Tarte. The finish is glowier. I might try mixing the two together for fun. Anyhow: great foundation pick. It’s a tough category to embark upon for review. Thank you!
I do love a mauvey-pink. I find that with a true pink, the mauvey-pinks do better for me than cooler pinks and some yellower pinks (depends on the finish, I think) for me.
Happy to hear it, Wendy – thank you for following up re: Tarte! Guess that means I need to try the new Maestro in #4! 😉 I am also surprised at how the Tarte foundation feels and looks without powder, because I totally agree that it doesn’t feel like I need to set it.
Same here 🙁
These are pretty! Not too pale and not too bright for me! ?
With so many shades, easy skips are good to have!
Beautiful! One question though, are all these the same shades as the Luminous Creme lipsticks? I happened to wear Fig yesterday and couldn’t help but notice how similar in color it is to this new formulation.
Sorry, I don’t have Fig from the Luminous Creme line to compare!
All the colors look so great on you! I bought sorbet and meringue. Super pigmented!
Have a great day!
Yay!
Oh, Sorbet and Gingersnap is one my wishlist for sure now.
Funnily enough, this new Fig shade seems brighter than the original shade.
Could be the opacity? Or maybe the lack of thickness.
Hi, these look lovely . Can you compare the bite sorbet to Mac please me

Thank you so much
Love Gingersnap! Glad its permanent so I buy it later!
It’s nice when things are new AND permanent 😀
Gingersnap is such a pretty shade for spring/summer.
I totally agree!
Not my colors, but I’m sure they will look amazing on others!
I’m sure they will rock for someone!
These look really nice, particularly Sorbet and Gingersnap. Too bad I didn’t wait for your review of Sorbet before I decided, rather impulsively I might add, to buy UD Streak to replace the MAC The Fashion Flock lipstick that I very sadly had to return. Otherwise, I know I would have picked Sorbet instead. It looks as if the formula is a cross between TFF and Streak, not a matte, not glossy, and has beautiful coverage. We live and learn!
Ah, well, Streak is still a great shade 😀
It is! Been wearing Streak quite a bit since buying it!
I’d be willing to try Sorbet but these are probably all too warm for me!
Aw, drat!
These are so pretty!
They are!
Liked FIG and SORBET but Gingersnap is really not my color. They looked good applied to you lips so couldn’t see any defects you noticed with wear.
They apply really well!
Ooh, these are beautiful! I really like Sorbet.
They are nice! 🙂
…that’s not anywhere near what I think of, colorwise, when I hear Fig or Gingersnap, haha!
These all seem a bit light for me, but they appear to apply really smoothly for lighter, creamy lipsticks.
I wonder how they determined the color of the shades – because it’s clear that a lot were “inspired” but not literal translations.
Hello, I’m wondering if you have Mac fanfare, if you do how does it compare to bite fig? Thanks so much!
I don’t have it, sorry! 🙁
