Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer Glow Multi-Cheek Palette (2016) ($50.00 for 0.40 oz.) includes a highlighter, blush, and contour powder. There is little said about the formula or actual products at all, so I’m rating these as an average product of the type. The highlighter seems to be in the spirit of the brand’s Gelee formula, but the others, while similarly patterned, feel more like traditional powder products. The palette, on the whole, was disappointing and pretty dupable at that.

Bronze Goddess Highlighter is a soft beige with warm, golden undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque coverage with a soft, blendable texture that wasn’t too firm or too powdery in the pan. The powder highlighted the skin without emphasizing pores. On me, it wore for seven and a half hours before fading. Hourglass Iridescent Strobe Light (P, $40.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). bareMinerals The Brilliant Sunset (LE, $26.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Soft & Gentle (P, $34.00) is darker, brighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Luminous (P, $30.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Sparkling Rose (LE, $26.00) is darker (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Highlighter (Softcore) (LE, $60.00) is brighter, warmer (90% similar). Chanel Coups de Minuit (12) (LE, $45.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Bronze Goddess Blush is a medium, rosy pink with warm undertones and a fine, golden shimmer-sheen finish. It had semi-opaque coverage with a slightly drier texture that was somewhat stiff in the pan. I couldn’t really build-up the color much beyond what you see in the swatch, no matter how many layers. It was fairly blendable but could have been easier to work with. It lasted for seven hours on me. Laura Geller Rosewater (P, $26.00) is darker, more pigmented (95% similar). Milani Pink Play (P, $13.00) is warmer (95% similar). Hourglass Surreal Effect (LE, $40.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). Pat McGrath Aphrodite Amour (LE, $44.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). Natasha Denona Golden Pink (PiP, ) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Buxom Havana (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Perfect Bronze (Left) (LE, $29.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Too Faced So Peachy (P, $30.00) is brighter (90% similar). NARS Give In Take Blush III (LE, ) is lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Enchanted Mirror (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Blush (Original) (LE, ) is more shimmery, warmer (90% similar). NARS 413 BLKR (Blush) (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker, brighter (90% similar). MAC Dollymix (P, $24.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC At Dusk (LE, $31.00) is more muted (90% similar). Clinique Blush Pop (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Benefit Bella Bamba (DC, $29.00) is darker (90% similar). Becca Camellia (DC, $34.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Ciate Baby Doll (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker, more muted (90% similar). Tarina Tarantino Parasol (P, $25.00) is more shimmery, darker, warmer (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Bicoastal (Bottom) (LE, ) is darker (85% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Bronze Goddess Contour is a medium orange with hints of brown and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque coverage and also had a firmer press to the pan like the blush (the highlighter is the easiest and most finely-milled powder of the three). It’s apparent that Estee Lauder has joined the bronzer = contour train, because this is an unlikely contour for many skin tones and looks more like a lighter version of most bronzers. It blends out decently and the finish is nice–a natural sheen that doesn’t emphasize pores or look overtly shimmery. It wore for seven and a half hours. Guerlain Terre d'Ete (LE, $78.00) is darker, brighter (95% similar). By Terry Savannah Love #2 (LE, ) is cooler (95% similar). Zoeva ND020 (PiP, ) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). MAC Delphic (LE, $34.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Suqqu Hanachaori (02) (P, $34.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Dolce and Gabbana Desert (P, $51.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Urban Decay Lo-Fi (DC, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Satin Shimmer (LE, $34.00) is darker (90% similar). ColourPop Carry-On (P, $8.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). NABLA Cosmetics Dune (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). Make Up For Ever #25I (P, $36.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). By Terry Tropical Sunset #4 (LE, ) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). MAC Aphrodite's Shell (LE, $34.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Sunny Side (LE, $34.00) is lighter (85% similar). ColourPop Paradise Cove (P, $8.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Sephora Fiji (25) (P, $14.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Melt Cosmetics Lynx (P, $22.00) is darker, cooler (80% similar). Melt Cosmetics Sundown (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (80% similar). Melt Cosmetics Lynx (P, $22.00) is darker, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

I just want to thank you for your honest review. I thought this looked really pretty in pictures, but you description and swatches cemented my resolve not to give into hype and purchase this. I know in my heart that I don’t like palettes for anything other than eye shadow anyways, and rarely drag out couple I have already.

ohhhh, i was REALLY hoping the blush shade would be “Tease” !! i’ve been waiting for that blush to come back for years since i coulnd’t get it when it came out :'(
Well, here’s to hoping they bring it back soon though!
This palette is pretty but like you said, very dupable.

THANK YOU!!! I’ve been drooling over this palette for about a week and the only place I can find it right now is on Nordstroms website. The problem is that everything on the Canadian site is more expensive than in the store. Now after reading your review, I’m not so keen to grab this. I love and really appreciate that you put dupes for every shade in your reviews if you can. Thank you again for this review, you just saved me about $80

Carolyn Avatar

Don’t tell me these things! Now I’m going to be tempted to check out the Estee website
I just have to remember what the swatches looked like and what are the good dupes that I already have

If you are interested, it is on Estee Lauder Canadian website for $55, and you could get 15% off for signing up for emails. Not affiliated, just tempted.

For $50, this needs to score an A. Some of the colors are pretty, but the market is flooded with great blushes, highlighters, and contours, so competition is pretty stiff.

At first, when I saw this, I was ‘wow’, but the cheek swatches are just okay. So disappointing for a delightful looking palette!

Mariella Avatar

I have 2 separate, different face powder trios from IT Cosmetics, both of which look very similar to this in the photo (not the packaging but the nature of the products themselves) but both cost a WHOLE lot less and perform a whole lot better!

I love the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess collection every year. It always tends to be on the sheerer side (eye shadows too). Maybe that’s because what their targeted demographic prefers?? (Just thinking out loud). I actually think the blush and highlighter look lovely on you Christine! The “bronzer” though is definitely for a much fairer skin tone.

Trina Avatar

Only because I got it for $32 I’m going to keep it. Someone at macys.com really messed up because they had this listed for $32 which is supposed to be the price of the liquid luminizer. Anyway I hurried and purchased it, by the end of the night Macy did take off their website and now it is listed at the regular price of 50. It’s definitely not worth the high price tag. Its very disappointing that the entire palette is not the gelee formula.

Dev Avatar

I got this from Macy’s for $32 because they messed up the price. It is definitely worth $32 for me but not the $50 it is supposed to cost. I am quite pale and really like the blush and highlighter. I won’t be using the contour as it was intended but it will be a nice warm crease color for me since I usually stick to cool tones and don’t have anything that warm/orange.

Thank you for the fantastic review!!! What had piqued my interest was that somewhere I had seen it mentioned that this was a multi-use palette and could also be used for the eyes. That would have made it absolutely perfect for me for on the go. But the colors are way off, even for that. Did you see that mentioned anywhere? I was also wondering if you might have a recommendation for a similar but better type of multi-use palette??? Thanks so much for all of your help and great reviews!!

“Product Details
Illuminate. Contour. Blush. Radiant, sun-kissed color for face, cheeks and eyes. Let the sun worship you.
Web ID: 2711005”

This was the description on the Macy’s website and super similar on the Belk website. I checked the eyeshadow palette and it had a normal eyeshadow-type description, so I was extra in love with the face palette if you could really swipe some color on your eyes with it. Now seeing the swatches, though, I’m glad I didn’t jump off the deep end (like usual!!) and waited for your review!!!!! Thanks for all you do again!!!!!

It looks pretty in the pan. Seems fairly light in color, and I say that as someone with pretty light skin. It’s giving me more shiny spring vibes than bronze goddess vibes.

The bronzer “contour” is kind of a ridiculous looking shade under both definitions. It’s a bit light for a bronzer, on the very orange end for a bronzer, not remotely in the right ballpark for a contour. If it had some gold flash to it, it’d work extremely well as a peachy orange blush shade.

Cathy Avatar

I have to concur with everyone else; THANK YOU, Christine, for your excellent and honest review of this palette. It certainly is very beautiful to look at, which is frequently enough to suck me in (lol), but fortunately I have also learned to wait for Temptalia’s review before giving in and buying a new product sight unseen. You’re the best!

Lizzy Avatar

I was surprised by this review. I swatched this at the counter tonight and I though it was sooo beautiful. I did find the highlight color to be too sparkly though. The blush and bronzer were so lovely though. The formula seemed very soft in all of them.
