Your most used product this week: Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation + my usual dailies
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation in F0.2 is a great match for me, the “light yellow undertone” is pretty close to neutral, so just right for me. The foundation is not cakey looking. So far I’m liking it a lot. I could do without the doe foot applicator, though.
Also…holy cow! Naked Honey’s mattes are super-pigmented. I had to be very careful with them.
Happy Birthday, Rachel R.!
Thank you!
Happy birthday to both of us; mine’s today. No wonder i always relate to what you choose to wear!
Happy Birthday!
Libra sisters! I hope you had a wonderful birthday!
Happy Birthday Rachel!
Thank you, Brenda!
I didn’t get to read all my posts yesterday, so Happy Birthday Rachel. I hope you had a lovely dinner out and that your birthday goodies were beautiful too.
Your gorgeous eye look with Naked Honey sounds stunning.
Thank you, Genevieve! I had a lovely German dinner, and our trip this weekend was very relaxing.
Happy birthday, Rachel and kjh!
Thanks so much, Nikki!
Happy Birthday, Rachel R.!

Hope you had a wonderful birthday!!
Thanks, Celesta! I did!

Favorite Look: This week, I decided to do a challenge in which I had to use MAC single eyeshadows and NARS Velvet Lip Glides every day for work. Here’s my favorite look during this challenge (not the most exciting, but it was a really nice everyday look). EYES—Primed with MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. Colourpop Precision Brow Colour gel in Cool Cocoa, MAC single eyeshadows (Quarry in crease, Haux on outer V, Grain on lid), UD 24/7 eye pencil in Mushroom on outer third of lower lashline, Lancôme Definicils Mascara.
FACE—Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, MAC Mineralize Blush in Sweet Enough.
LIPS—NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Bound.
Most Used Products: MAC eyeshadow, NARS Velvet Lip Glide, Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder.
Beauty Discovery: MAC Grain eyeshadow is a real workhorse in my collection. It makes a great natural lid shade. I’ve had it for a long time, but I’m just discovering how useful it really is.
MAC Grain (which I just looked up) is a splendid shade on which to create many different eye looks. I found, to my delight, that the Chanel Tisse D’ Autuomne # 2 is a good dupe for this one.
SNAP!!! I just dug out the Tisse d’Automne quad to use this week. I have MAC Grain (bought it when the prices on the Pro Pans dropped so significantly) and never really thought of it as a dupe for T d’A (which is funny because I used Grain yesterday when I went to the gym, just to cancel the blueness in my lids).
Grain looks like an excellent base color.
Your skin tone/coloring:light, MAC NC 15-20, med brown hair and eyes, oily skin
Favorite look from the week: anything created with Lime Crime Immortalis palette!
Your most used product this week: Lime Crime Immortalis. MAC Pro Longwear blush in Stay Pretty, MAC Painterly Paint Pot, Essence Lash Princess (green)
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Clinique Lip Shadow Cushion Matte Lip Powder in Dune Pop. Picked it up at the CCO
Anybody chime in. I want that palette, and want to know if Lime Crime has reformed, without the inimitable Doe Deere at its head. I cannot support them, as they were. Glad you like it.
last i can tell is that they sold the company off, but she still sits on the board. i would order from ulta tho, i still would not trust LC with my account info.
if you still don’t want to support them, maybe the colourpop grey palette or one of the kkw beauty smoky palettes would work for you. i didn’t want to support kkw (girl has enough money for no apparent reason w/o taking mine) but i gave in because all mattes with decent reviews and cruelty free.
i think they’re all similar enough to give you the same type of look. i’m mad at myself because givenchy came out with a grey palette also, and i indulged, without researching, but they are not cruelty free. ?
Thanks. Probably have it covered by the Lunatick Supernatural and Vampira coffins, and def eventually getting the CP, and Punked is decent, too. But there’s such a dearth in this shade range. Think I’ll look at the Ulta consumer reviews.
Hi Christine, thanks as always for your amazing work! I know I can count on you!
What was your week in review like? Lots of new products, sort of splurgy with all the new sets coming out.
Your skin tone/coloring: Lancome Buff, medium light
Favorite look from the week: I used Bobbi Brown’s Ivy Shimmer gel eyeliner in a smudged way with just a neutral Stila shade all over lid and crease. Nice!
Your most used product this week: As always, my Benefit Rollerlash gets a workout. I wish it were waterproof.
Any beauty discoveries… First Aid Beauty (FAB) has a new Ultra BarriAIR that feels amazing, like pop rocks candy mixed with moisturizer. Weird but soft and really lovely feeling after. I put it over Vichy’s serum with It Cosmetics eye cream (the blue one) and my skin looks great this week. Also, ordered a ton of Colour Pop listicks (so cheap!) and found some winners. Mesmerize is my fave.
A rant: why is it so hard to find cream shadows in neutral colors with NO shimmer? I can’t do sparkle in any form as my “mature” (eek) eyes just look terrible with metallics or shimmer. So I’m stuck with the same BB cream shades that are getting boring to me. Every palette I see, cream or not, seems too shimmery. And the wildly colored new shades are way too bright for me. Do people really use them? Have a good weekend everyone!
My twin sister is like you and prefers a matte finish to her eye products. Her favourites are Laura Mercier singles in a matte finish – particularly in Smoky Amethyst and Intense Black Plum shades.
Clarins have matte cream eyeshadows and I believe they are on sale at Macy’s at the moment. I hope this helps you!
If you were in Canada, I’d steer you to the Lise Watier “powder/cream” shadows or even her pencil sticks. A lot of the former ones are matte and recently, she’s released a few of the chubby stick ones in a matte finish as well. Both formulas are outstanding.
Thank you, I’ll take that tip Mariella, I’ve recently been checking out her products more. I feel like they’re probably really good quality, just don’t have the money at the moment. She also has a Christmas box of several eyeliners for $60…who knows, maybe some money will turn up.
I know Stila has a range of more matte liquid shadows if that is something you want to look into!
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favourite look from the week: I used quite a few different eye palettes this week, but my favourite look was from Wet n Wild Comfort Zone (the oldie but the goodie): the pewter shade all over the lid, with the light green on the lower lid and the peach shade in the crease. I added a touch of the darker brown on the lashline. I paired it with Colour Pop’s Tea Thyme lipstick, which is becoming a favourite of mine.
Your most used product this week: All my staples, plus the Tea Thyme lipstick.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): As mentioned yesterday, the Wet n’ Wild Comfort palette.
G, I always love reading your posts and discovering just how many products we both love. I’ve also got that “old” WnW Comfort Zone palette and remember my delight at finding it at my small, local drugstore for under $5 (and this was in Canada!) For a long while, WnW had some outstanding eyeshadows – surprisingly excellent for a line many of us remember as being cheap and not very good. But now they seem to have reformulated a lot of their shadows, and not necessarily for the better, while getting rid of so many of their real stars (I remember the Lust, Vanity and Greed palettes of old – I guess there was a whole 7 Deadly Sins thing going on) and they great. I’ve still got 2 of them (the purple one and the brown/neutral one) and they really are good.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look from the week: we’ve had some absolutely perfect autumn days so I pulled out my Chanel Tisse d’automne quad and used 3 of the 4 shades (the darkest, almost black green is the one I omitted); Sephora Snakeskin Dress liner (I don’t know what I’ll do when I finish those!), IT CC Cream (in place of the Australian Gold tinted sunscreen), TooFaced Peach Blur setting powder; Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush and (an oldie and d/c’d but SUCH a goodie) Clarins Redwood lipstick
Your most used product this week: Sephora pencil liners – Cappuccino and Snakeskin Dress
Any beauty discoveries…digging out and “rediscovering” that wonderful Clarins lipstick (I don’t know why they got rid of the Rouge Prodige lipsticks and then the lip glosses as well)
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair
Favorite look from the week: I kept things pretty neutral the entire week (which killed me) because there were meetings happening at my work, so I used my ND Biba palette a lot. I did a pretty warm burgundy halo eye using the entire middle row of the palette and it turned out really beautifully. Paired it with Perricone MD No Makeup Blush, and PMGL MatteTrance Lipstick in Realness. I felt very professional and put together, but also amped up a bit.
Your most used product this week: My usual skin prep products, L’Oreal 24h Fresh Wear Foundation, Ulta Cream Blush in Sunrise, and Beauty Bakerie Cotton Candy Blush palette, specifically the bottom two plummy shades.
Any beauty discoveries… L’Oreal 24h Fresh Wear is beautiful mixed with my Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream. It gives just a tiny bit more coverage to the BB cream and makes it a little more skinlike, but not quite so glowy.
