I reviewed this previously when it was released in the Champagne Glow palette, but I had noticed (or felt) that the consistency of the powders in the palette was slightly drier compared to the permanent versions I had (of the existing two shades in the palette). I know that a lot of readers have been eagerly awaiting Pearl in powder form, so I figured I would check it out. I do think the standalone version is smoother, but the standalone version is also slightly more shimmery (just slightly, though!). The texture was still softer than the majority of the Pressed range, and worth noting, it is 0.25 oz. compared to the 0.28 oz. size of the other shades. It can emphasize pores if I am not careful with the application–the palette version was more forgiving in that aspect. On me, the highlighter wore for eight hours.

This is very pretty, and cool enough and light enough for me, and I think I will try it, although maybe in the liquid form. There seem to be so few cool-toned highlighters out there, and I don’t want one that’s obviously pink. I use cheek products, and especially highlighter, so sparingly, that I’ve just been using what’s come in cheek palettes — Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight or Hourglass Incandescent Light mostly. And they’re both very nice products, but I wonder if I might use a highlighter more if I had one that matched my cool undertones. I haven’t bought Hourglass Ethereal Light because it would take me at least twenty years to use it up at my current rate of highlighter consumption. The liquid BECCA product would be more versatile, since I could mix it with base products that I like except that the finish is too matte for me… just kind of thinking out loud, here…

The BECCA liquid highlighter bottle is huge, so I think it’d be hard to finish before it goes bad, being a liquid formulation. The effect it gives is subtle but very natural, like the skin is illuminated from within, rather than an obvious shimmery highlight. I like it mixed with foundation but unfortunately, it lowers the staying power for me and emphasizes pores and dry patches 🙁

Irene, thanks for the ‘heads up’. If I do decide to try the liquid, I think I’ll get it from my local ULTA, where they’re great about letting me return/exchange things that don’t work out for me. I really like that ‘lit from within glow’ look.

I am a very pale gal, so I just had to get this. And I have to say, I’m in love! It’s the perfect highlight shade when you really want to dazzle. Just be careful, because you can go overboard quick. But I like a heavy highlight. Hehe.

Really pretty. I already have Pearl in both the liquid (absolute favorite “no makeup” highlighter, great for inconspicuous strobing or for a genuinely natural looking all over dewy finish) and the poured (more travel/purse friendly, better for higher impact shine), so getting this would feel like overkill but it’s very cute! I’m thinking I’ll try MAC Luna for my next white highlighter, just because I favor cream highlighters in general. Too bad though, IME MAC’s CCBs slide around and fade out in a fraction of the time any of Becca’s cheek products do, and I’m sure this powder version wears like a comparative champ.

I’m kind of glad I have the palette version for now. I too noticed that the champaign glow powder in the pan was slightly stiffer than the full size one. But all the shades worked well. I very rarely bust out a pure white highlighter, but I love having one for mixing so when I run out of the small pan I’ll pick this one up.

I’m so glad this scored so well. The minute sephora advised me that this was available I placed an order for it! I should be getting it on wednesday. I can’t wait! It looks so beautiful. I don’t mind the shimmer, I have rms living luminizer that is quite nice and light enough for me, but it just doesn’t last.

Hi Christine! What are your thoughts on how this compares to Anastasia Starlight? I was surprised to not see it on the Dupe list. My pale Irish self is excited for all of these lighter highlight shades 🙂

Hope you and your family have a great holiday season!
