Selenaville

MAC Selenaville Lip Pencil ($17.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a light, pink-red with cool undertones and a matte finish. It might have been the firmest, sharpest lip pencil I ever had the displeasure of swatching! It was physically painful to try and swatch it on my arm, which made it harder to work with, period. It would be best used as a liner but not to fill-in as a base as a result–too much tugging for semi-sheer to semi-opaque, uneven coverage.

In the past, MAC lip pencils have worn like iron–six hours or longer, especially deeper, red-based hues like this–and are lightly drying to non-drying on their own. I’ve swatched an unusually high number of lip products in the last couple of weeks, and my lips just were not in a state where I could handle testing this shade specifically for longevity, which is why it’s a brief review.

Entre a Mi Mundo

MAC Entre a Mi Mundo Lip Pencil ($17.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a light-medium brown with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single stroke, which applied evenly across my skin and could be layered without bunching up. The texture was firm with some tugging, but it wasn’t painful to use, though it is more comfortable to use to line around the edge of lips rather than to fill in. I’d recommend holding it at a slight slant and using the edge to fill in, which was fairly comfortable.

I’ve swatched an unusually high number of lip products in the last couple of weeks, and my lips just were not in a state where I could handle testing this shade specifically for longevity, which is why it’s a brief review.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Oh no, I was looking forward to Selenaville. It is in my favored shade and I like to use a pencil all over the lips to add some wear time to my lipsticks. I may pick it up anyway and see if I can make it work with a very lite balm underneath. I do love the shade.
