Skin tone: Very pale with cool undertones, MAC NW 5-10
Favorite look worn: I haven’t worn a lot of makeup this week as I haven’t been anywhere or even out of the house. I did recreate a look that I wore last spring using some Chanel shadows but that was it.
Most used product of the week: Really just my skin care so my old standby’s.
New beauty discoveries: I purchased the Hanacure Face Mask set and will use it for the first time on Sunday night so I will see if it does anything and report next week.
Yes please about the Hanacure – would like to know how it worked out for you!
Skin tone/coloring: Medium with neutral undertones. Blue eyes, medium brown hair.
Favorite look worn: I have been playing with the Tryst palette but no favorite look has emerged yet.
Most used product this week: Tryst palette.
New discoveries: Melt shadows. I bought only two peachy shades, Antique (matte) and Amelie (shimmer) but so far they are challenging my Viseart. Time will tell, of course.
My skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, dark hair
Favorite look worn: MAC Eyeshadows (simplified description: Kid in crease, Satin Taupe on lid, and Vanilla on brow bone), Clinique Brow Shaper in Charcoaled (plus Clinique Superfine Brow Liner to fine tune the tails), Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara, Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in Desert Beige, Tarte Shape Tape concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, Clinique Blushing Blush in Cupid, a light touch of Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Highlighter 01 on my cheekbones, and NARS Audacious Lipstick in the gorgeous shade Stefania
Most used product of the week: Everything listed in the last question except I wore a different lip color every day.
Any new beauty discoveries: I played around with my KVD Saint & Sinner palette the other night (it has been gathering dust since I bought it) and came up with a couple of new looks that might try out this week. I also discovered how much I hate having glitter on my eyes. It just doesn’t work for me.
Seraphina, Love some of your favorite look choices. The Saint and Sinner Palette has been the best palette I’ve bought in the past 5 years, I hope you get a chance to enjoy it.
Thanks, Tammy! I use mostly neutral shades in my everyday routine, so the KVD S&S palette has been a bit challenging for me.
S&S is also my favorite palette. I understand what you’re saying about neutrals, even though my challenge is usually toning it down enough to *not* look like I just stumbled drunk out of the Halloween late showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show. I unreservedly recommend the S&S palette for “pop of color” type looks — neutrals with a little extra something; I think you’ll be pleased.
The neutrals — obviously — would need to come from another palette. 🙂
Great advice! Combining S&S with neutrals from another palette seems to be the best way to use it.
My skin tone/coloring: Fair, cool
Favorite look you wore: Smashbox Night Shoot and MAC Gold Bit on eyes, Sephora Cappuccino to line; MAC Sweet Sentiment blush, a variety of lipsticks (all pretty similar – Capricious, Brick-o-la, Plumful)
Most used product of the week: Smashbox under eye primer (I forget the name but it really helps my concealer look better)
Any new beauty discoveries: Not that I can think of.
I love Smashbox’s Photo Finish under-eye primer! it really makes a big difference.
My skin tone/coloring: Light medium, yellow undertones, dark brown hair and eyes.
Favorite look you worn: A warm golden pink eye with Nabla Dreamy palette, Guerlain Rouge G blush and Sigma Chroma Glow highlighter in Lush on cheeks, Colourpop Cami lipstick.
Most used product of the week: Sigma Chroma Glow palette – I haven’t put it down since I got it!
Any new beauty discoveries: Putting The Ordinary’s 2% salicylic acid above my upper lip immediately after mo hair removal stops those nasty little inflamed bumps and whiteheads forming.
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favourite look you worn: After cleaning out and re-organising my makeup bags, I rediscovered that lovely bareMinerals quad The Wild Thing and decided to use this palette in my look of the day. I used Controversy (the blue shade) on the lid, with Elitist (a lovely, lovely khaki brown shade in the crease, with Sensational in the corners. I paired it with Clarins Joli Rouge lipstick in Cinnamon Spice. Very pretty.
Most used product of the week: Still using lots and lots of sunscreen as it has been quite hot here this week. Apart from that, all my makeup staples.
Any new beauty discoveries: I managed to find the last tube of the Aveeno Eczema cream on the shelves at my local Priceline yesterday. I have used it twice and can already feel the difference in my hands. Great product.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look you worn: I was sick, and taking care of my sick sons, so I didn’t wear makeup this week.
Most used product of the week: Olive Natural Beauty Oat & Honey Lip Balm
Any new beauty discoveries?: The Almay Shadow Squad in Thrill Seeker is awful. I got it as a Walmart Spark Reviewer, and the shades are all similar, sheer, and hard to blend. I’m glad I didn’t pay for it.
Skin colour : medium with yellow undertones.
Still working through my MAC Whenever You Call shadow pairing it with Golden Lighrs and How You Thrill Me from that quad. Have been wearing Urban Decay Easy blush with this eye look. I also hit pan on Bare from my Lorac Pro Matte palette and have been teaming that up with Laura Geller eyeshadows in Candy and Fig and NARS Gilda blush. I’m working on No7 lip lacquer in Sugar Mauve and MAC Brave. These look good together. Also used ABH lipgloss in Metallic Rose this week too.
All of above plus No7 Nail and Cuticle cream.
Pulled out my Bare Minerals You Had Me At A Glow palette that I received at Christmas but can’t seem to make any of them work. Maybe they don’t suit my skin tone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
My skin tone/coloring: light to medium with warm undertones, MAC NC 23 ish/Tom Ford Bisque or Natural/Shiseido Synchro Skin Golden 3/MAC Matchmaster 1.5
Favorite look you worn: Not really a favorite per se, but what was in rotation this week – MAC Burning Lights quad, Perfect Bronze Blush, Sunset Pearl lipstick. I really like that teal and bronze.
Most used product of the week: Laneige Lip Mask or Jack Black Lip Balm
Any new beauty discoveries: Well. Not sure if this will count but I used the Guerlain Perles de Neiges snowball in place of a tennis ball in a tube sock to work out the knots in my back. Worked great! ???
My skin tone/coloring: light, yellow/gold
Favorite look you wore: a very basic face with a strong lip — CP “Play” shadow, ABH “Fawn” (contour, but I use as shadow) layered over top, ABH “Banana” (face powder) at inner corner, Sephora V for Volume “Marsala” mascara; Bite Beauty “Blondie” multistick as a blush base, UD Pirates of the Caribbean blush in “Lost Soul” over top; CP Ultra Satin Lip in “Lost”
Most used product of the week: CP shadow in “Play” — I’m panning it.
Any new beauty discoveries: I discovered that almost anything simple and non-fragranced that can be misted and dries matte is a decent setting spray if all you care about is knocking down any powderiness. I still use the Volition Oil Control Mattifying Mist during the day, but my new powder-minimizing spray (right after my makeup is done) is the coconut water that I use as a toner (since I ran out of Josie Maran Nirvana Hydrating Treatment Mist). Works great.
