Skin tone: Medium Warm (MAC NC30)
Favorite look of the week: I posted it here on the blog, I think I called it Summer Blue or something similar. This was a NARS week for me so I got out my dual intensity shadows in Tarvos and Cressida for one last summer fling. One of the things I like about being on a low-buy is a chance to dig back through my collection and revisit favorites. I had forgotten how beautiful Travos and Cressida are–I should be wearing these colors every week for the remainder of the summer! I was reaching for NARS Audacious lipstick in Grace but accidentally grabbed Greta instead, matched my cheeks to my lips with the stunning MAC Life’s a Picnic blush, and I was just so happy with the finished look! I am having a love affair with Greta right now, I’ve had it on everyday for the past four days and cannot wait to reappy it after my shower.
Most used product(s) of the week: NAR’S Audacious lipstick in Greta and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation in 5.75.
New beauty discoveries: How much I love Greta, which has sat mostly unused in my stash as there’s always another color on my radar. Also, I like to put Bite Beauty’s Snap Dragon all over my lips, and deepen the edges and sides with NAR’S Audacious lipstick in Janet.
Skintone / coloring : light, MAC NC 20, brown hair and eyes
Favorite look worn: Wore Adorn, All Star & Dawn from the ABH. Wore All Star on eyelid, Dawn in crease and Adorn on inner corner /inner half of lid.
Most used: other than my typical basics, I have been playing a lot with my ABH Subculture and creating many looks I like. Gets me ready for fall:)
New Beauty Discoveries : Aside from ABH Subculture, I picked up Cover Girl Outlast Pressed Powder since I was desperately in need of a powder and I finally found Milani Rosa Romantica in store so I’m excited to try it out!!
My skin tone/coloring: Fair, cool
Favorite look you worn: I’ve been loving that MAC Versicolour red lip stain I got as a “freebie”; I’ve worn it every day this week (again) with Annabelle brown liner (the self-sharpening one), Chanel Empreinte du Desert on my lids except for the last 2 days, when I’ve been trying out the MJ Edgitorial palette….I’d love to see some looks with that because it’s just not a great one for me, and Bobbi Brown Maui “bronzer” on my cheeks; my daughter gave me some of her Deciem/The Ordinary foundation (I think it’s the serum one) and I have been using and loving that
Most used product of the week: Lise Watier Sunsmart and Bobbi Brown Maui
Any new beauty discoveries: probably the foundation from The Ordinary. Oh, and a lovely Givenchy points perk lipstick from Sephora – Fuchsia in the Know – I think that’s the name.
What shade of foundation did you get from The Ordinary Mariella? I am going to get the Serum one too. I am glad to hear that you love it.
I’ve no idea. Genevieve – I’ll have to ask my daughter what the shade was but I’m usually NW 15 in MAC (as is she) and the colour was a bit light for summer but nothing too extreme. I just put some in an empty Sephora sample container. I have had 2 very good experiences with it and one not so good one – today! I actually had to wipe it all off before we went out to friends’ for dinner because it had settled into dots in my pores. The previous 2 times I wore it, it was lovely. I think it might have been what I put underneath – the Estee Edit Treat+Something+Something (I can never recall the name) – that’s the only thing I did differently from the 2 successful times.
~nw20. Only one discovery. ABH Rogue is perfect with the kvd Lolita blush/shadow, at least on me. It’s closer to Rogue than to either of the Lolita LLs. YMMV, of course.
My skin tone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones MAC NC37 or Lancôme Teint Idole 24H Foundation N 360, deep plummy-brunette, blue-green eyes w/ gold flecks.
Favorite look you worn: The one i wore 2 days ago when I *successfully* duped that MAC Basic B*tch Palette using Deep Damson in the crease blended out using the lightest matte from Viseart Amethyst Theory, Jouer Bikini on the middle of my lid as a halo with MAC Magic In Your Eyes LE Foiled eyeshadow on either side, also used that blackened navy from UD Jean-Michel Basquiat Gold Griot palette to cut my crease. Turned out just the way I pictured BB doing!
Most used product of the week: It CC Cream mixed with a drop of Inglot Duraline!
Any new beauty discoveries: Oh yeah! A 100 point perk at Sephora has become my broken out skin’s BFF; Sunday Riley UFO. It smells HORRIBLE, but it got my recent breakout under control when nothing else would, and without drying my skin out like most acne meds do.
Question: Duraline is basically isododecane. How does it help the IT CC? We think of it as a resuscitator for dried out stuff.
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favorite look you worn: I used the Lorac Pro Metals palette this week to create a look, graphite, clover and amber shades and I was really happy with it
Most used product of the week: Lorac Pro Metal palette
Any new beauty discoveries: Nude by Nature BB creme in light porcelain is just beautiful, especially under my foundation.
Skin tone: very pale with cool undertones, around NW5-10. I did get a little tan on my trip and didn’t burn so I am currently a little closer to NW10. My hair is mostly grey with deep brown eyes.
Favorite look this week: I really don’t have one. I haven’t worn a lot of makeup this week as I have been giving my skin a little break. All the travelling, different water, too rich food, too little sleep and massive differences in climate (from 50’s in Canada and northern CA coast to 112 in Sacramento) have played havoc with my skin. I don’t get pimples but have a couple and my skin has been a bit blotchy. The one look I did create I didn’t care for. It was using the Laura Geller E/S palette in NYC Downtown Cool. I thought one of the shades appeared matte and applied above my crease and it was slightly shimmery but enough to really ruin the look for me. I didn’t have time to redo so went with it.
Most used product of the week: Actually trying out the Teinte Idol Ultra Wear 24 hour foundation by Lancôme in the shade 110C. I just have a tester so have been using it sparingly. I don’t get anywhere near medium to full coverage and everyone else does so wondering if maybe the sales associate didn’t shake it up before giving me the testers? I like the color. I like the finish so jury is still out. I will try and pick up another tester when I am in Missoula in a couple of weeks.
New beauty discoveries: Too many to list here, LOL. I am loving the YSL lip vinyl that I got which is a dark red. Wears a long time on me and very comfortable. Does not dry completely down but I am okay with that. I also love the shadows that I got from Nabla Cosmetics. I have ordered from them before but hadn’t used them in awhile and saw their new release so purchased them. I also purchased e/s from Devinah and haven’t had a chance to play with them yet. All products that I got from L’Occitane have been really nice.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look you worn: Eyes — UD Primer Potion in Enigma; Jane Cosmetics Verbena as a base shade; UD Instinct in the crease; Jouer Bikini on the lids; UD Eye Pencil in Perversion on upper waterline; two coats of Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara. Cheeks — e.l.f. Blush in Fuchsia Fusion; ABH Pink Hearts; Sephora Tranquil. Lips — UD Revolution Lipgloss in Anarchy.
Most used product of the week: BareMinerals Mineral Veil; powder foundation; Too Faced Hangover Face Primer; UD lip glosses.
Any new beauty discoveries: Jouer Skinny Dip Palette; NARS Blissful
