Hourglass I Believe, I Can't Wait, I Live For Confession Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
I Believe
Hourglass I Believe Confession Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.03 oz.) is a bright, medium fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage that glided onto the lips evenly and smoothly without tugging on the lips during application. The consistency was lightweight, creamy but not slippery, and comfortable to wear. It lasted for five hours and was lightly hydrating.
The formula is supposed to have “creamy, saturated, longwearing color with a satin finish.” It’s a light-medium thick formula that was typically opaque with a lightly creamy texture that glided on without tugging but did not slide around while worn. The majority of shades had a natural to satin finish, and they lasted anywhere from four to seven hours with light hydration. The best performing shades were light to dark while the lightest and deepest shades weren’t quite as consistent.
The lipstick can be purchased with the full packaging/applicator for $34 or as a refill-only for $22. The refill packaging is substantial enough that it is usable on its own, as there’s a detachable base that the refillable cap clicks onto (with an audible click), but they are very slim–and that’s not a surprise given they only contain 0.03 oz. making them one of the smaller lipsticks on the market. Slim lipsticks typically contain around 0.07 oz. of product and are usually smaller than the average standard lipstick tube (which tends to be between 0.10 and 0.12 oz.).

I Can't Wait
Hourglass I Can’t Wait Confession Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.03 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium-dark plum with warm, red undertones and a cream finish. It was richly pigmented and yielded smooth, even coverage as the formula was lightly creamy and glided on with ease. The texture did not feel overly slippery or too emollient, so it sat well on the lips and stayed on for a solid five and a half hours. It felt moisturizing while worn.

I Live For
Hourglass I Live For Confession Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.03 oz.) is a bold, medium-dark orange with warm, red undertones and a cream finish. It had opaque color payoff in a single layer, while the texture was lightweight, smooth, and creamy enough to spread across the lips without dragging or tugging but not feel slippery or move around while worn. The formula was lightly moisturizing over the five hours this shade wore for.

Did these have a scent? I didn’t like the Hourglass Lip Stylo’s due to their scent, it was kind of a weird plastic smell. Thank you!!!
Soft vanilla but I didn’t have any issues with the Lip Stylos, so I’m sure my nose is terrible and your nose is much more sophisticated!
Beautiful shades for real though. Especially those 2 deeper, richer bright shades. I am so thankful that I have dupes for both at this insane $ per oz. So that’s 2 more I can easily resist!
I wish they had more in them!
God, I love the color of I Live For, but it’s just so expensive for such little product.
I hear you, Lindsey!
Wow, these are bright!
They are!
I can’t wait is pretty!
It is!
I’m not really a big fan of lipstick, so some of the finer points are lost on me. I’m guessing though that the reason someone would want a “slim” lipstick in the first place is for the ease of application. Maybe the convenience is worth it even though you’re getting less product. However, I think a lot of people are unaware of just how much less product they are getting, at the same price of a standard lipstick. So I really appreciate you showing price comparisons.
Let’s be honest though, that gold attachment is not an “applicator.” I don’t see how anyone could precisely apply lipstick holding it by that thing. I guess it just bothers me that not only is the consumer being charged so much for so little product, but also being charged more for an asthetic design feature passed off as a functional piece.
I don’t think that the lipstick tube is lacking in function – I actually apply each shade with the whole applicator for testing! I don’t think it’s necessary , but it certainly didn’t impede application.
Thanks for the insight!
I just saw these in person at Sephora today and I was actually horrified by how physically small they are. Ridiculous no matter how pretty the colors are.
I know! They are tiny 🙁
I’m mad that I like these so much…
I’m so frustrated that they are good but contain such a below-standard amount of product – it makes it impossible to recommend or get excited for them.
I’ll look for the dupes. This seems very overpriced, given the amount of product, although the colors are pretty. I really appreciate that you occasionally provide the by-ounce comparisons to put sizes in perspective.
Lots of dupes listed in the post! 🙂
I’m so glad there are plenty of alternatives to these colours. I can’t justify the price for this range – I’d rather spend the money on Dior or CHANEL!
Me too! I wish they had considered the quantity more.
Colors yay…price…nay.
Exactly!
I Live For is my favorite but I like some of the dupes even more. Shocked that the Louboutin lippies are cheaper with or without the applicator
Yeah, you knows I adore the bright range… ugh.. these are beautiful, but I’m not going there. Not wavering.
I Can’t Wait is really pretty!
