Make Up For Ever 4 Frozen Green Star Lit Powder Review, Photos, Swatches
4 Frozen Green
Make Up For Ever 4 Frozen Green Star Lit Powder ($21.00 for 0.02 oz.) is a cool, pinkish white base with gold-to-green shifting shimmer. The consistency was incredibly silky and finely-milled with a lot of very fine pearl that reflected light beautifully. The duochrome effect was noticeable more in person than in photos but was absolutely visible in person (and not just by contorting myself). It had semi-sheer, buildable coverage applied dry and more opaque coverage when applied damp. The highlighter lasted well for eight and a half hours on me.
The Star Lit Powders can be used to “highlight eyes, lips and cheeks” with an “ultra-fine loose powder” that can be used “wet or dry to customize coverage intensity and luminosity.” While checking the weight on these, I noticed that the weight differs from shade to shade; this one had a mere 0.02 oz. while others ranged from 0.03 oz. to 0.09 oz. (visually, by volume, they seemed to fill the jars regardless of the weight differences between shades). I also noticed that it appears the brand identifies what area you can use a shade on by listing an icon on the back of the jar in the shape of a pair of lips, an eyeball, and then a face (presumably for cheeks).

I let out an audible gasp when I saw this! So pretty! I would wear this on my eyes!
It would be gorgeous on the eyes, too!
Oohhh, so pretty. I might use this on my eyes instead of my cheeks. I’ll have to swatch it next time I’m in Sephora.
It work well there! 🙂
That shift, though! This is stunning! So while I do have KVD Emerald and will be buying Dior Magnify Quint, this one is really pulling at me. I definitely do agree with what you stated above about the weight issue. That it does not affect the actual usable amount, it’s just *fluffier*.
I really love how obvious the shift is 😀
What a gorgeous shade! I would love it for eyeshadow.
It is lovely as an eyeshadow!
What a stunning shade. Love the multi-tonal effect of the powder!
It is a gorgeous shade!
A really pretty shade and I love the duochrome effect.
The shift was great!
Wow! This is so unique! I was intrigued as to what these were going to look like!
It’s a really a fun shade to use on eyes/cheeks!
Oooh this is pretty! Probably what Becca Opal x Jade could’ve been
Ahh! If only!
The duochrome effect was more noticeable in person than in the photos? It’s stunningly apparent in the photos! Wow. Seriously impressive.
I know I have more dupes of this from makeup industry brands like Naked Cosmetics Ivory Stack and Gem Powders, with Jordane Cosmetics Loose shimmer I got 2 years ago for $10 as well as Kat Von D Emerald. It’s just the larger shimmer particles of green/yellow over a pinkish white base that throwing me off. lol
I’m crossing my fingers they will be bringing to IMATS this year but in past years they have not been bringing their full range like they use to. 🙁 Because at 40% off it would be an ideal price for these.
Hi dear …
thanks for all the reviews u do daily so much appreciated ur hard work
I want to ask you since MUF discontinued the star powder and have these star lit powders
I wanted to know which on of these are similar to the shade number 940 ??
U reviewed this shade long time ago i think back in 2011 ,,,
Sorry, I don’t have those any more!
The colour shift in this is really amazing (it looks almost lavender in the first close-up swatches and definitely golden in the 2nd one). But I can’t seem myself having any use for something like this on my cheeks – eyes, maybe, but even that would be limited.
Christine, the Sephora site says that this formula includes “Pure Mother of Pearl”. Are there actual glitter particles in the formula or does it apply like a pearlized sheen? The price on these is pretty darn good, especially when you consider how they could be used in so many different ways (toppers for eyes and cheeks, too). And with your ratings, I’m lusting — a lot!
The type of shimmer/amount depends on the shade, but it’s not glitter from what I can tell, though they can be quite shimmery, so some appear more frosted than others!
Thank you!
