Sneak Peek: NARS Powermatte Lip Pigments Photos & Swatches
NARS Powermatte Lip Pigments
NARS Powermatte Lip Pigments ($26.00 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a new liquid lipstick formula that debuts on Sephora’s mobile app on July 5th, then on NARS’ website on July 6th, and at Sephora on July 13th. There are 20 shades in the range, and the formula is supposed to have “infinite matte color saturation with ultra-flexible long-wear.” Here are swatches:
the “Just what I needed” shade looks beautiful! But I am not a fan of liquid lipstick… they often make the lips dried
Can’t wait to see the reviews for London Calling and Rock with You! Those two have really caught my eye, but the formula needs to be really good for that price.
London Calling is the one that I picked up, I can’t wait to try it out.
I am totally here for these! I can’t wait for your reviews 🙂
These names appeal to my obsession with classic rock! And they don’t look terribly drying in your photos, so I’m eager to see what you think of them!
I’m excited for this collection! It doesn’t look drying or patchy & the packaging is just icing on the cake. Colors that caught my eye: Rock With You, Get It On, Just What I Needed, Slow Burn, Just Push Play
These look soooo dry and show up every lip line. Using a balm or lip oil, etc. to counteract the parched dryness seems to defeat the longer wear time this type of formula promises which is why I avoid them entirely after a few disappointing tries with this type of product.
That’s exactly why I stayed away from them for so long myself, Mariella! That is, until I found a way to wear them comfortably and without totally wrecking their long wear: MAC Prep & Prime for Lips (the long, skinny, twist-up). I apply just one swipe of it on my lips about 3-5 minutes before applying the liquid matte lipstick.
Nancy, you are my makeup wingwoman! I know you praised MAC Prep+Prime lip a few times and I keep meaning (and keep forgetting) to get it.
OMG I must try this!
Thanks for the tip Nance!
These seriously look so dry, like any other liquid lips. Nope, a hard pass for me.
Me too. It’s not a flattering look. And I think most people are over the matte lip thing now that they’ve found out how lip-crackingly drying they are. But the NARS Lip Tints are something fresh, comfortable, and really flattering. I’m glad I snagged those.
I’m happy to see that the darker, vampy colors like Paint It Black and Wild Night seem to have applied without obvious streaking! There are a lot of great colors here, and I love the naming theme.
So many pretty shades, but these look like most liquid matte formulas: way too dry for me
Oh man. I’m gonna be in trouble. There are 3 that I need 100% just from this… several more that I’m very interested in. Is it okay if I dip into my vacation fund for makeup? That’s okay right? I mean, I have to pay for the makeup all on my own, whereas the boyf pays half for the vacation. Yep, I’ve justified it to myself.
Love ‘Just What I Needed’! Beautiful shades!
Is it me or do a lot of the shades look similar to each other? Either way I will likely pick up some of these. I just love that packaging!
I’m curious about how these compare to armani lip magnets, both in color and the pointed for-foot applicator. Any thoughts?
Walk This Way, Wild Night, Rock With You, Low Rider and Just What I Needed are calling out to me! These look very pigmented and most are very even, too. I love the color (and NAME of!) “London Calling”, but it looks *slightly* less even than the others shown.
If “Under My Thumb” wasn’t one of my ex’s favorite songs, I would love it.
Although it is one of the most misogynistic songs EVAH, it is a total classic. Rap, hip hop, etc. certainly don’t hold the monopoly on that type lyrics. Mick and Keith ‘dem bitches!’ Still, sentiment aside, it’s a total classic….and probably true to the way they treated their women, at least in those days. Hope your ex didn’t live out the anthem….
Unfortunately, he sure did, KJH. Although towards the end, I wasn’t having it anymore. Hence; he’s now my Ex.
So many gorgeous colors! If these have an amazing formula, then my wallet is not going to be happy with me!
Under My Thumb and Rock With You are both beautiful. I also love London Calling but it looks a little too patchy for me. I will have to use with a balm as they appear pretty dry but if the colors work for me then I am willing to work with them. I need more lipsticks like I need a hole in my head, though.
Great names and colors! Most of these look pretty good, too.
Pretty colors, but the formula looks really dry on the lips to me, I mean I like a matte lipstick but not one that shows up every little line in your lips. I will say the darker colors don’t look as dry on the lips as the lighter/brighter colors (which are usually my fave). I think it’s a pass for me, but I’m still gonna read the reviews to see if maybe they aren’t as drying as they look to be.
There are some beautiful colors but, whoa!, those look dry on your lips.
I’m not really a fan of matte lipsticks as they really dry out my lips and these pigments certainly look pretty dehydrating to me, however beautiful some of the shades are. Your poor lips Christine!
Eagerly awaiting your review. I hope they review well and my bank account hopes they don’t. ?
Wow. So many look great…American Woman, Save the Queen, Warm Leatherette, Starwoman, Under My Thumb…how to decide.
I bought all of those except for Under My Thumb, I snagged London Calling instead!
How do these compare to Velvet Lip Glide?
I’m so excited for this!
These seem remarkably not-dry for liquid lipsticks. Love the song names (they found my weakness, darn it!).
London Calling and Warm Leatherette are on my wishlist. These look like something I would love!
Well for my reaction, let’s quote Jerry G: trouble ahead, trouble behind…. I really better wait for a mini collection for holiday. Bet they do one. What’s happening to me? I even like the pinks…but not the corals, lol. I’ll try the Mac, thanks, Nancy, though other balming has been successful thus far. Maybe ‘so in love with you am I.’ When it should be ‘first I look at the purse!’ Another trend that won’t die, along with highlighters and nude shadows. Not that I mind, now that I’ve learned how to wear them.
I like Don’t Stop , Give It Up, and Light My Fire. Love the names. The reviews I’ve seen say these aren’t drying on the lips and long lasting. Can’t wait to see the review!
loving the classic rock names, as an alternative to the usually “loaded” choices 🙂
The packaging, the colors, the fact that I immediately started singing the songs without realizing they were named after classic rock songs for a second there as I scrolled down, the gorgeous swatches, I’ll definitely need 4 of these minimum.
I completely love the names of the shades and I can’t read ‘Warm Leatherette” without doing it up properly in my head. Hells, I’m reading this post and singing tunes in my head..most of the shade names speak to me
Colour wise: I really like Under my Thumb, and London Calling (wish the swatches looked a little more rigorous on this shade).
Warm Leatherette was my favourite both in color and name for the same reason 🙂
I wonder how do these compare to NARS Pure Matte Lipstick which is one of the best matte formulas in my opinion.
In regards to shades I totally LOVE Get it on, Starwoman, Just Push Play, Under my Thumb and Rock with you! Hope the products to be as good as the colours.
Though there are beautiful shades here, especially Letherette, they do look dry and seem to accentuate lip lines so far. That would be a deal breaker.
Gorgeous colours!
They look really good overall, a few look a bit uneven but the majority seem great. I’ll wait for your review to see if they’re drying though!
Some of these look perfect! I’m excited!
