Liquid Lipsticks | 2016 Editor's Favorites
These are my favorite liquid lipsticks that I reviewed in the last year! My personal preference is for the kind that don’t fully dry down to a flat, matte finish, as I find them more forgiving and comfortable to wear, so my best of list certainly reflects that preference. If you like more of a flat, matte finish, my favorite formula is Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Matte, and I find that ColourPop’s Ultra Satin formula (included below) has a nearly transfer-proof finish (especially after an hour or two of wear), so that could be an option as well!

I’m normally not a fan of any liquid lipsticks, but love the CP Ultra Satin formula, so comfy to wear ! Love their Bijoux color
Me too!! It is the one of the only ones I reach for (in terms of formula) that has a near-to-matte finish.
Nothing like the Colourpop Ultra Satin’s, really. They are fantastic! Faves are: Barracuda, Brooklyn, Wink, Bijou, Panda and that lone Ultra Matte that is just as comfy, Cheap Thrills.
But having been given 2 Ofra liquid lipsticks, I can definitely attest to the high quality of those as well. Plus, Ciaté, too!
I agree, Nancy! I love them for long-wear + more of a matte finish without the harshness of a lot of traditional liquid lipsticks!
I love the selection. Colourpop Ultra Satins is way better than the Ultra Mattes. I love Dopey, Femme, and Point Zero. My other picks for 2016 liquid lipsticks are Too Faced Melted and Metallic, Buxom Wildly Whipped, theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes, and NYX Lip Lingerie.
Next year, I’m considering the Kat Von D Everlast and the NYX Liquid Suede.

Well, i’m a fan of Mac’s Liquid Lipsticks, they’ve all lasted about 4hrs everytime I wear them.

Yes to cp. the satins are far more comfy, but for me, the mattes (I have only darks) always get all the compliments. Got only one kvd this year: chimps, and it’s fab color. First abh..mentioned this already…which turned out to be a way too close to deeply rooted. It looked pinky mauve in the tube. Are the abh not that true to tube, folks? Not hella impressed. Ciate is more comfortable. Liquids really do hold the line on feathering, but you need significant balming before app…esp us older women….shrink wrap is not a good look. You guys were right: Femme is quite fine for my greige period. Dk if I dare go as far as petit four. Best name all year: Shoegazer.
I’ve found that a lot of liquid lipsticks dry down differently than they look in the tube – usually darker to me!
I don’t have any of these. I like the MAC Retro Matte Lip Color formula.

Great reviews! I added a few lipsticks to my list. I noticed there are no lip stains in the Best of 2016. Is that because there was nothing special this year? I’m looking to buy a couple.
